The upper level has a quaint reading nook at the top of the stairs stocked with bean bags, as well as two bedrooms and a Jack and Jill full bath. A bunk room hosting two sets of bunk beds (one twin-over-twin, the other twin-over-full, sleeping five total) is perfect for a giant kid's sleepover!
The other bedroom has two queens with beautiful new furnishings & bedding.
The lower level is where all the fun and games will take place. Designed with fabulous architectural flair made for entertaining, there is just so much to do here: play pool, foosball, & everyone's favorite - air hockey! There are two seating areas, each with new, large, comfortable couches and TVs. There is a full bar on the lower level with bar seating for 10. A table has been thoughtfully placed on the lower level for cards, puzzles, or eating!
The lower level has two different sleeping options: a bedroom with 2 queen beds or a queen sleeper sofa near the air hockey table.
For lake entertaining, you will enjoy the impressive screened Boat House with its new sectional sofa. Head down to the dock, where you'll find a boat slip and your very own sandy beach area! House was not clean. Carpets were filthy/stained. Wiped up some water from cooler from floor and paper towels were brown with dirt. Red clay all over deck and seemed very unkept. Rear sliding door off of deck in living room was a fire hazard, could not hardly open and close. Viewed two paddle boards and kayaks online but only one kayak and one paddle board was cracked and had a missing plug so took on water. Fridge/freezer even though our things were cold all ice melted in one side. For the price of this rental we expected better. Communication from the AVANT team was great but property after traveling 8 hours to get there was a let down.
The house was beautiful and well maintained. It offered several activities and the location was perfect. The overall experience from start to finish was great.

In town for the Craft Beer 1/2 marathon and 5 miler as well as my 50th birthday, the house was perfect for our group of 16 who needed R&R after a morning of running in the wind and rain. Wonderful amenities and a beautiful waterfront lot.
I can’t say enough great things about this home. Super spacious, very clean and stunning view. Right on the lake, so the location cannot be beat. The layout of the house was perfect for a weekend of entertaining. I’d love to visit lake Norman and stay here again!

Great home!
This house was everything we could ask for. It was set up well for our group with tons to keep us entertained and not all on top of each other. The house was beautifuly decorated and all around fun. We only had a couple of small issues and the property management was very responsive.

Thanks, JC for the awesome feedback! We are so glad you and your guests had a great time! We hope you have the opportunity to return!
The house was absolutely amazing. The photos are accurate and I appreciated all the items that are home to make our stay more comfortable and easy (shampoo, soap, and kitchen with all the basic items you’ll need). The service was also excellent and communication was easy. My point of contact was very responsive as needed. I would recommend this place and look forward to coming back again.
We had a blast, despite the weather. Our host brought a brand new coffee maker on Monday morning because the Keurig was missing. She also gave us many options for rainy day activities. Contact was great and available at all hours. Thank you for everything!

Thanks, Chris! We are bummed you had bad weather - but an excuse to hopefully come back! We are glad you were happy with the accommodations!
The house was great! Large living areas, nice bedrooms, and the basement w/ bar, lounge area, and game room made for an awesome hang out area.
Short walk down to the dock and quiet place to Stand-up paddle or just float around. Dock made for an easy water pick-up for a Pontoon cruise on Lake Norman.
Also located close to several restaurants, grocery store and ABC store, and a unique hang-out place - The Bohemian Cattle Co.
Over all - a great house and decent location!

Thanks, Jamie! So glad you and your guests had a great time! You definitely got to enjoy the hot spots of Lake Norman! We hope you will be back!
I rented this house to host a few out of town friends for a milestone birthday. We had other local friends join us throughout the day Saturday, and everyone raved about the house! plenty of space, the bottom level alone is perfect for hosting. Check in and checkout were simple, communication was great. Only point i’d call out for other reviewers is getting an Uber was near impossible (both at night and mid morning). That is not a knock to the property or owners at all- just something to be aware of and plan accordingly! Many guests mentioned they plan to book the property for their own gatherings.

Thanks Laura for the awesome feedback! We are so happy you and your guests had a great time. We can't wait to host more of your guests in the future. Sometimes booking Uber's in advance can help for the future!! We are looking forward to your next trip with Lakecations!
Our stay consisted of four families coming together to celebrate my son’s graduation. We brought two boats with us. Our entire group enjoyed the spacious property that was convenient to grocery stores & local entertainment. All inquiries were promptly answered. The only thing we found odd was that they showed up unannounced to cut the grass, wash the windows and take the garbage cans to the road. Overall the property was clean and well kept. One sliding glass door to the patio was difficult to close but we reported this issue & feel confident they will resolve it for the next guest as they seemed to be on top of everything. I would suggest some detail cleaning, carpet cleaning and cob web removal more frequently as there were some cobwebs, stains on carpets & dirty corners in rooms and bathrooms. But again, I feel confident they will resolve this as they operated like a well oiled machine.
We booked this for our wedding party to stay at during our wedding weekend and the experience was very sub par. The floors, countertops and bathrooms were very obviously not cleaned beforehand- dried up contacts still stuck to nightstands, beer dried and sticky on floors, mold covering shower ceilings, and paint ripped from walls everywhere. Doors were missing chunks and there were cobwebs and bugs everywhere inside the house. We contacted the property manager multiple times only to receive an automated message when we notified them of their mold issue. They eventually responded and they admitted they knew of the damage and tried to say it was just previous guests that had been “a little rougher” on the house. It looked like a house that was once nice and had been taken over by a group of frat brothers. The fact they new it wasn’t clean and was damaged and did not give us any notice is just rude.
The only reason we have it a 2 star rating is due to the actual layout of the house and lake location. The outdoor amenities were also damaged and in disarray. The backyard had beer cans and tobacco products littered around it that we had to clean up upon arrival. The boat house was missing doors and had beer tabs scattered around the floor.
The owners of this house need to be notified of the poor property management and the state of their home. If this was my house I would be appalled and irate at its condition. This house needs a full renovation and deep clean.

Riley, it was unfortunate you were dissatisfied with your stay. We were more than happy to send a cleaning crew to the property during your stay to correct issues you felt were present, which you declined. Following your stay we refunded you 50% of your rental rate and your cleaning fee for your troubles. As discussed, these are issues which were brought to the owners attention & we are in the process of rectifying.
Location was great. The house had all the amenities for a wonderful vacation. Biggest issue was the smell and cleanliness of the house. Even after we communicated the need to ensure a deep cleaning due to allergies, 3 of the family members broke out in hives. Would still do a lake vacation again.

Response from VrboOwner on 26 July 2023
Hang, we are very sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction in the cleaning at Island Point. We do have several reviews surrounding your stay that comment on the cleanliness of the home, in a positive manner. The day of your arrival, there had been a significant amount of rain, leaving the outside very muddy, including the septic field. We even had the septic tanks pumped out of precaution. We did communicate this to you during your stay. We don't recommend staying in pet friendly properties when you have severe allergies. While we do our best to collect ALL dog hair during our cleaning and inspection process, we can't be sure no one would have a reaction. We hope you will be back to stay again.
This house was performed our family of 15 for Thanksgiving. Having 2 kitchens made preparations easy. The space in the house was awesome for adults and children. The view of the lake was spectacular.
