Close enough to be easy but just far enough to be absolutely peaceful!! 1 of 3 private units, The Hair of the Dogs is a fun 1400 square foot place for two, nestled in nature, yet next to all that’s happening. King plus 2 sofas and deluxe amenities including a full size private bath with a shower, antique vanity, medicine cabinet and copper sink! Hair of the Dogs is a redesigned open classroom with a king bedroom styled with partitions to conform with historical ordinances. The two sofas are in the open living area. If traveling with a group, see “The Pixies” - our 400 sf studio unit that sleeps 2 in a queen or “JD’s Zebras” - a 800 sf guesthouse that sleeps 2 in a new king. However, if max occupancy per rental unit is exceeded, without gaining prior approval, cancellation can occur with NO refund. Onsite medical grade sauna service available, ask for pricing if interested. Plus- We have sourced an exceptional licensed mobile masseuse who is best to book 2 weeks in advance. Not suited for young kids or disabled.

The Webb Schoolhouse,
circa 1913, strongly weathered all hurricanes and storms, and provided news-worthy refuge to an interesting mix of folks. This distinguished survivor is listed on both the National Historic Register and the Mississippi Historic Register as 1 of only 5 existing schoolhouses of its kind in USA.

Webb of Life has undergone intentional redesign, inspired by a rare set of William Morris stained glass panels, that evoke the psyche of unhurried travelers with a respectful nod to nature. Period antiquities mixed with a splendid sense of Southern surrounding, nestled in a vibrant coastal community, tempt guests with cherished bygone ways. Webb of Life exudes a time-honored attitude that sparks a statement about how a uniquely crafted landmark in a steadfast community weave together, as a heartfelt gift in the timeless art of living.

Historical photo books exist for unhurried travelers to peruse or purchase.

The landmark property hosts three distinct and separate short term rental units (named The Hair of the Dogs, The Pixies, JD’s Zebras) plus two RV parking spots (named The Lyon-Hearted & Kidron), each with private parking.

For additional fees, the entire manicured acre of grounds can be booked for small wedding parties, custom celebrations, special retreats, intimate gatherings, and family groups. The whole property boasts more than 10,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor park-like space. In whole, Webb of Life contains 3,600 spacious square feet of rare and unique historic rentals, that when combined together, offers 4 full baths, sleeps 10 comfortably, and seats 30 lunch/dinner guests with dedicated onsite parking.

My husband I enjoyed our stay in this extraordinary property. The space was large, the furnishings were something you would expect at an upscale home. The full kitchen was stocked better than any property I’ve ever visited. The host was a 10. She was so attentive and quick to respond to any questions we might have had or any request we made. One of the things we enjoyed was sitting in the hot tub in the late afternoon/early evening. It was so nice surrounded by the outside living space, the majestic oaks, the lights and the atmosphere that whispered relax. Mornings on the front swing drinking coffee and listening to the birds as the neighborhood woke up will be a memory I will relive as I run out the house with a cup of coffee and jump into my car for the drive to work. We watched our favorite NetFlix series at night snuggled together on the comfy sofa. I’m already planning my next visit.The host was so welcoming and kind. She even surprised me with a birthday dessert upon our arrival. I can’t wait to return. I loved how they incorporated the old school house theme through the house. It was exciting to stay in an historical site. I highly recommend this property - you won’t be disappointed!

Wonderful and Memorable Trip

This was the perfect spot for our family trip to BSL. What a gem! Clean, comfy and the hosts really have thought of everything! Our kids loved the pool and riding bikes to the beach, dinner and exploring the old town area. It was so memorable to stay in a unique and historic schoolhouse. Nice owners that live on the property. Our unit was one big room with a divider for the master bed. No bedrooms but it worked out OK. The kitchen needs brighter lighting, dark in the kitchen. The kitchen has lots of amenities, well furnished. Great back yard and pool.

Artistic Beauty

The building is amazing and the hosts are great, so very gracious. It is a beautiful set up, pool wonderful. We had booked it for 4 people but would really recommend a couple and child as the second bed is a trundle and it would be a bit awkward if it had to be pulled out. Also the hot tub controls are not readily available for guests but again the hosts are so on top of things they took care to get it going.

From the hostess personally reaching out and offering suggestions and a late check out because of our late arrival. All together everything thing exceeded my expectations.
