Perfect location!
Log home, on the northern end of The Great Sacandaga Lake. Perfect combination of tranquility/seclusion with access to Saratoga Springs only 20 miles away. The 172 feet of lakefront is nestled into a calm and quiet (but not stagnant) cove that is utilized only by residents of the cove. The 3 Bedrooms are set up like suites (perfect to hold a full family), each with their own bathroom (each bedroom has a full or queen platform bed PLUS a twin over full bunk bed). There is an additional full bathroom in the unfinished basement. The sunroom also serves as a potential additional bedroom and also has a brand new daybed with trundle pull out. Each room has a Flatscreen TV and the home is equipped with Time Warner Internet. Verizon Wireless service exists within the immediate area of the house. Conveniences include a washer and dryer on the main floor. There is NO smoking permitted inside of the home. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets of any kind due to homeowner allergies.
We just added central air conditioning and a brand new deck off the sunroom.

This lake house is now our summer getaway!

This is our third year staying at this lake house. We love it! It’s clean, the dock and lake are awesome and it’s so peaceful! It’s very relaxing, I highly recommend staying here!

Great trip again

This is our 2nd year at this rental and it was a great week. The house comfortably fits all of us and the lake/dock area is an awesome place to hang out all day. John is a great host and is easy to get a hold of and keeps you updated.

Excellent location, very relaxing stay.

This the second year we've stayed at this property during the summer, and it's a wonderful place to vacation! The location is remote, but only half an hour from Lake George. I highly recommend staying at this lake house.

Great 2nd Stay

This was our second stay here and it worked out great. Lot's of beds, great cabin feel, it was clean and didn't have any issues. The lake is beautiful and it's fairly close to a couple towns if you need to grab anything. Definitely recommended.

winter holiday stay

Great place to hang out and enjoy family time, kids had fun inside in the beautiful space, parents enjoyed the fire and making food, all had fun outside, exploring the lake shore in winter, and going to nearby west mountain ski resort for tubing and first time for 3 kids to try snow boarding and all enjoyed tubing there as well

Great Family Vacation Spot!

My family and I had a wonderful time at John's home. The home comfortably accommodated our family of adults and small children. The children were able to deer watch from the back windows! Easy access to the lake and hiking areas. We all look forward to future stays!.

Winter Trip

This was the second time I had stayed at this house with some friends. It has a beautiful view of the lake and the trees. There are a number of great hikes with waterfalls nearby. Property is in great shape and was perfect for a winter getaway.

Wonderful memory

Loved It!

My wife and I have a cabin 2 miles from this place and we had three of our grown children and their families visit at the same time. Since our place is too small to accommodate this group, I looked for lodging close by. John's log cabin worked out fantastic and ALL had a wonderful time fishing, swimming, and boating from the dock, and sitting by the fire lakeside in the evenings. They also enjoyed the view from the front porch and the overall ambience of the place. Thank you.

Family vacay

Perfect home for a family reunion of 12 people. Short walk to large dock on a lovely, quiet part of the lake. John the host, was always available to answer questions and we were thankful for the backup generator which automatically took over when a storm knocked out the electricity, allowing the fun to continue. Would love to go again!

Perfect Summer Kickoff!!!

Such a blast! Beautiful house with everything you need—comfy beds; equipped kitchen; fire pit; and great dock to swim or launch kayaks. John the host was communicative and genial; access was easy, and not too far out to access easily (30 mins from Saratoga Springs). Highly recommend!!!

Peaceful lake retreat

This property was perfect! Beautiful and well maintained. Spotlessly clean! Be aware of a couple things, the walk between the house and lake is a descent hill, I was definitely in better shape by the end of the week but would be hard for older people. Also the cell booster wasn’t working so when we got there I didn’t have service to access my account on VRBO to get the check in information, make sure you have that information accessible before arrival and the Wi-Fi network name was not accurate in the information provided. Overall everything was great though, just a little blip with checking in! Such a relaxing spot on the lake, the peddle kayak was really cool to have and goes really fast. We really enjoyed our trip!

Beautiful!!

The place is gorgeous. Unobstructed view of the water from the many large windows in the front of house. So big, yet such a cozy feel. John responded immediately for any questions I had. I rented with a couple of friends fto go to 2 concerts nearby. I'm definately going to renting it again with my family just to stay at the property and enjoy the peaceful home, the lake, boats and firepit. So much to do and so comfy,. Highly recommended! Thanks John!

A heavenly week

Our experience could not have been better. The house is beautiful, so well equipped with every convenience. It was almost like hanging out in a tree house with the beautiful interior and the trees swaying beyond every window. Sitting down by the fire to look out on the lake was such a relaxing break from the everyday. We made good use of the pedal boat and kayak. This home is located in a wonderful part of the world, with so much to do and explore, but also far enough off the grid for a truly great vacation. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay here !

Beautiful Lakeside Property, Fantastic Owner

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of renting this property from John during the holiday season for ourselves and several friends. John was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with during the rental process, making sure everything was in order. The interior of the house is stunning, and the rooms were exactly as described. Everything was in good working condition. The fireplace was great as well, and we had access to a huge stockpile of firewood and kindling. John made himself available over the course of our stay in the event we had any questions or problems and was a pleasure to work with. Definitely an experience I would recommend!

Great family vacation

This was our first time staying at the house and it exceeded our expectations. The house was gorgeous and there was plenty of space for our large family of 12. The kids absolutely loved the bunk beds downstairs and the adults were all able to have their own rooms at night. We loved spending time on the large dock that sat in a nice quiet part of the lake that was just a short walk across the street. John was great to work with! He kept us updated with a hot water repair that were needed prior to our stay and was ready with a backup plan if the repairs weren’t completed by the time we got there (they were!). He was quick with responding to any questions that we had and helped coordinate a location for us to launch our jet skis nearby. We spent our entire week down by the water and enjoyed the large fire pit area at night. We lost power one night and were thankful for the backup generator which kicked in automatically. We have already started to discuss planning another family vacation here for next summer!

Great Experience

I stayed here for almost a week with a group of 4 other friends. The check-in process once we arrived was as easy as unlocking the lock box. The house itself was very clean and well stocked and there was more than enough room for 5 of us (this place could easily fit more than double that). The lake access is across the street but it is not busy so super easy to walk across the street and down the short walkway. Plenty of parking for for 5+ cars. From the house, you are within an hour of Saratoga Springs and St. George, which we visited both of throughout the week. The owner checked in with us about half way through the stay to make sure everything was going well. Finally, I'd like to point out that this property has a backup generator, which was used during our stay as a storm swept through the area. It worked great and allowed us to continue our board game without having to sit in the dark, so that was a huge bonus. Overall, I don't think we could have asked for much else.

Our fourth time staying at this fantastic house!

This was our fourth year renting John’s house for a week in August and, once again, we had a wonderful time! We have made it a yearly tradition to come to Sacandaga (a group of adults and a couple young kids) and this house is perfect for our group: it’s spacious and and has everything we need for our stay and the lake is beyond amazing. This is a wonderful rental for anyone who is looking for a true Lake Sacandaga experience. The house is situated in a quiet (but large) cove area on the south side of the lake which is really great for swimming and lake activities, especially when the weekend comes and the lake gets a bit busier with boats. And the sunset views over the mountains are AMAZING! Every year we come there are new improvements to the house and/or property that makes it even better—like the new full bathroom in the basement that made our mornings that much more efficient, and the larger dining table in the eat-in kitchen that can fit all of us around it! Like some other reviews have mentioned, you do need to come prepared with groceries for the week but we usually do a large shopping stop at the Hannaford in Saratoga on our way in at the beginning of the week (you can order online and have it ready for pick up—super convenient!) and then there are a few great places just over the bridge in Northville (10-20 min from the house) to get anything else we need during our stay. We’ve rented a couple other homes on the lake over the years and John’s house is by far the best! John is a perfect host and always immediately available via phone or text if anything comes up during our stay. Thanks, John—we are already looking forward to coming back again next year!
