Relaxing stay and great porch for watching Morning Doves, squirrel (James Nuts) ha, Mocking Bird (Frenzy) ha.
Ideal cottage for walking and enjoying Beaufort. Hosts were the best.
The Hideaway cottage hosted by Steve was wonderful and perfect for 2. Beautifully decorated with everything we needed. The location is a quick walk to dining and great Harbour watching. Nestled in the historic district we loved the cottage and the location. Would highly recommend
Our best anniversary trip ever. Steve, our host, did everything possible to provide the perfect stay. Adorable mini home, well stocked, cozy and convenient to restaurants, coffee houses, etc. we parked and walked. It was hard to leave!
The Hideaway is the perfect location for access to downtown Beaufort. Well appointed, very clean and nicely furnished. Owner is very nice. Most comfortable and highly recommended.
Everything was pretty good with this rental, communication with the owners, cleanliness of the property and perfect location. Lovely!
I do have a problem with the accuracy of the listing. At first I rented this thinking we had the second floor. I did see it with photos, etc. on the website. Checking a bit later I was told that the second floor was not part of my rental and I would have to pay extra $50/night, for using it and my sister-in-law was an addition... Make sure you know what you are to get before you pay otherwise it may happen to you as well.
Otherwise, no problem with this property...
Everything was perfect! The Hideaway was spotless and beautifully furnished. We couldn’t have asked for a better location or more friendly folks in the main house. We hope to go back again and again!
We loved everything about this place. The location and the accommodations. Was perfectly convenient to everything and had everything we needed. Will plan to come back
This is the perfect location to walk to everything. It is a cute cottage with brand new den furniture and freshly painted. Steve is always a good host. We have stayed in two of his other properties.
First off, we’ve stayed in this property before (2 years ago) and found the host very nice and the property clean.
For this trip, we brought our two daughters because there are two small beds upstairs and thought it would be great.
There were many areas that need attention. The floors were dirty, the kitchen utensils and dishes still had food on them and were dirty. There is black colored mold under the sink and on the inside of a cabinet (actually an electrical box) in the kitchen. The drawers had crumbs in them. The kitchen smelled of mold. We killed at least 5 cockroaches and a handful of spiders. One small cockroach was in the bed upstairs (that my daughter was to sleep in). A cockroach fell out of the upstairs bathroom vent when we turned it on. The upstairs gets very warm during the day and struggles to cool off at night. The door deadbolt is extremely difficult to lock from the outside, requiring you to pull both the key and door knob to get it to lock. There was a used kids bandaid stuck to the back of one of the couch pillows. The living room tv never worked (we couldn’t figure out how to connect it to cable—need detailed instructions) and the remote was absolutely disgusting (caked food on it). The outside chairs had spider webs all over them. The upstairs toilet requires you to hold the lever down for almost a minute to flush.
We really loved our first stay and really enjoyed the location. We will not be returning.
This is really a sweet little house with walking access to many amenities. Its been well cared for and is very clean with a well stocked kitchen and a comfortable downstairs bed. The first night we wanted to use 2 bedrooms (I snore), but it was really hot upstairs. There wasn't a fan and the windows wouldn't open . So we weren't able to use the second bedroom. The TV wasn't working and Steve sent someone over right away to get it going. So everything met or exceeded my expectations except not being able to use the upstairs.
