Relax, you’re at the lake now. One step into this home and the fresh lake breeze and expansive views will immediately put you at peace. Great for single family, couples getaway, or small friend group gathering. Perfect vacation home for all four seasons. We’ve lovingly owned this home for nearly 50 years and have recently remodeled and updated it. Located on one of the best spots on Brooks Lake! Light, bright and spacious with two living rooms, and two decks with stunning lake views. Private sandy beach and dock. Shallow, sandy swimming area. Boat launch nearby if you desire to bring your boat. Or rent our pontoon to cruise the lake. The charming town of Newaygo is less than ten minutes drive. Sleeps 6 privately. Central Heat/AC. Kayak. BBQ Grill. Outdoor tables/umbrellas. Parking for 4-6 vehicles. Please note: This property sets on a hillside and encompasses four levels from garage to beach. Access to each level is by stair. You cannot access the main level of the home without traveling on stairs. Sorry, not handicapped accessible.

There were some technical glitches with obtaining the passcode to enter, however, it was figured out within an hour and the owners were very apologetic to us. The home is great with living spaces upstairs and downstairs, and bathrooms that are spacious.

Beautiful house on quiet lake

Their rental home was truly beautiful. Very nice and super clean. Lots of steps-which we knew ahead of time. The lake was nice, not much traffic on it at all. Kids were able to tube behind our boat and we anchored and swam.

Awesome Labor Day Weekend Getaway

We had a fabulous stay at Brooks Lake House, 3 couples for 3 nights. It had amazing lake views. Our relaxing morning coffee on the deck with the fog on top of the lake was incredible. The house was super clean, and the kitchen was fully stocked. Quality bedding, bath towels, and beach towels were provided and the beds were comfy. Ryan and Jen were quick to respond to questions. We all highly recommend staying here.

Brooks Lake House is more than just a rental property... it's a very special home to Jennifer & Ryan. Jennifer grew up in Newaygo not far from Brooks Lake. Ryan grew up coming to Brooks Lake every summer, staying at this very property when it was just a quaint cottage. When they started dating in college, it was this property they came to over and over to hang out at the lake as their relationship took root.

Twenty years ago they bought Brooks Lodge (just 2 houses down) and have been hosting large groups there since that time. Now the smaller family lake home has been passed down to them. They enjoy it as their own vacation getaway, but have also opened it up to share with others who want to take some time to refresh and recharge at the lake. They love hosting people domestically and abroad and sharing this special area of the country with them. It's especially rewarding to them when they hear stories from guests who have made lifelong memories with family and friends at a place that has been so special to them all their lives. Ryan and Jennifer have lived and traveled many places over the decades, but it's true what they say.... there's no place like home.

Why they chose this property

Brooks Lake House is situated on a private drive in a quiet neighborhood with both year round and seasonal residents. Neighbors are friendly and kind. They seek to know one another and look out for each other. No matter the season, you will often find residents out for walks and getting to know one another. During the summer, the neighborhood is filled with residents, and feels active, but never busy. Fall months see a good amount of weekend activity and the fall foliage is breathtaking. Winter and spring you'll find there's more solitude. There's nothing like a silent snowfall on the lake. During this time of year round residents still hum about with their daily lives, so you never feel completely alone. Anytime of the year you need a respite, Brooks Lake House is here for you.

What makes this property unique

Brooks Lake House has one of the more expansive views of the lake. Whether you're on the sofa, enjoying coffee outside on the upper deck, or relaxing on the beach, you can't help but be engulfed in a view of water and sky that envelops you with a settling peace. Life slows down. Problems come into focus. A little time here gives clarity to what really matters in life. Yes, it's that good. Trust us, we've been spending time here for over 30 years.
