This beautifully furnished one bedroom apartment for 2 is on the first floor of a historic 1890 building. Completely renovated but the charm of original hardwood floors and spacious kitchen and living room.
The kitchen has been remodeled with stainless appliances and tile floor. Bathroom has tile floor and a tiled shower. Wi-fi and You Tube television. There is a charming outdoor space with seating area to relax and enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee.
We are located within minutes to Portland Art Museum, numerous restaurants of all types, museums, several wonderful music venues and downtown Congress Street. We are within walking distance to Hadlock Field, home of the Portland SeaDogs,
and the Old Port District, noted for its upscale shops and eateries. We are a 5 minute walk to Deering Oaks Park where a fabulous Farmer's Market takes place every Saturday. We are also close to Casco Bay Lines, where ferries are available to hop the islands!
Close to area beaches, Portland International Jetport , Concord Trailways and Amtrak Downeaster.

Our stay was exceptional! We stayed for an entire week and Sue was instrumental in helping us! Place was beautiful and clean and we loved it. If we are ever back in Maine we will stay here!

We had the most amazing time in Portland and so glad we chose to stay here! This was the cutest apartment with the sweetest hosts. They gave amazing recommendations also! This is located in a great neighborhood and walkable to anywhere you want to check out in the city. We would 100% recommend staying here to anyone, especially couples looking for a nice quiet getaway!

The property, location and amenities were great. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we could need. The apartment was within close proximity to restaurants, shops and the many fun activities in Portland. We were happy to have our own parking space. Easy and readily available communication with Sue and Barry if needed . I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Portland.

Unfortunately the area is not what I would consider walkable. The city itself is very spread out and not easy to navigate. The photo on the site must be old as the front of the house now is overgrown with plants. We loved our hosts and the property itself though.

My husband and I booked this for our anniversary weekend getaway and we could not have been happier! Sue and Barry are so sweet and provided excellent communication and recommendations to us. The location cannot be beat! We walked everywhere and it was about a 20 min walk to Old Port...not bad at all and lots of great sites along the way! My husband and I agree that it's a good thing we walked everywhere b/c the food in the area is absolutely amazing and we ate the entire time :) Loved our weekend getaway and definitely plan to return - there's more to eat! (Also, one of my favorite parts - we made friends with the cat next door, Mama Cat. She's so sweet and greeted us every night as we walked back from dinner).

We loved our stay at this adorable place! The hosts, Sue & Barry, were absolutely amazing. They gave us so many recommendations of places to see, things to do, yummy restaurants to visit, etc. while in Portland. It was so nice to be so close to town and be able to walk to all the fun stuff. Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect.

Fabulous Find in Portland!

Fabulous apartment in a terrific location!

The apartment is spacious and well appointed. The location is perfect for walking into town. The owners, Sue and Barry, were so nice and had lots of information about things to do and excellent recommendations on restaurants. We would love to come back in the future.

Perfect location.

My friend and I just stayed 4 nights in Barry and Sue’s unit and it was perfect! We didn’t have a vehicle so it was about a 20 minute walk downtown and a perfect location for us. It was very clean, well furnished and the hosts were the sweetest! We really enjoyed meeting them. We will for sure be recommending them to some family that plans to travel to Portland in the future.

Great hosts and location

We had a great stay for a long weekend in Portland. Sue and Barry are perfect hosts. They are communicative, and very helpful. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It is on a picturesque street and very quiet. The location was perfect for walking around and exploring Portland. We were able to do most things by foot. I highly recommend staying at this apartment.

Wonderful stay!

We had a great stay! I’ve been to Portland a number of times and this was one of the best stays I’ve had. The apartment was very well located, you can walk everywhere. Can't say enough good things

Me and my sister and had a wonderful stay in Portland, thanks in large part to Sue and Barry. Their rental is perfectly located in a great area that is highly walkable to almost everything you'd want to reach during a vacation. The rental was spacious and had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. And you should absolutely listen to Sue's recommendations on things to do because we enjoyed every restaurant and activity suggestion she shared.

Great Place, Great Hosts

The flat is as advertised. The location is within ~2 blocks of the main road for restaurants & shops, in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Maybe the best part were the hosts (Sue & Barry), who were quite kind and took time to show off the apt and also chat about the downtown area. Moreover, they had time to actually pick us up from the bus station. Amazing. When I come back to Portland, I will be looking to stay here for sure.

Cozy and convenient

The roomy 1-bedroom apartment in a great location met all of our needs. Sue greeted us upon arrival and provided lots of information about Portland that helped us structure our trip and make optimal use of our 2.5 days there. The apartment was very clean and had all the “extras” that made it feel like home. Parking was convenient (we had our own space across the street) and although having a car was great for out of town trips, the neighborhood was walkable and conveniently located to a variety of activities. We would definitely stay here again if we get a chance to travel to Portland in the future.

5 STARS! Perfect from start to finish! Your host and hostess are the nicest couple. They live in the apartment above you. They were there to greet us. It felt like coming home to family. The apartment was clean, spacious, well located and comfortable. They provided snacks, coffee, teas and even fresh creamer in the frig. Stay here. You're done looking!

A perfect stay with delightful hosts!

Our first trip to Portland and we could not have chosen a more perfect place to spend 3 nights! Sue and Barry were awesome and after they spent a short time with us giving us extremely helpful tips, we were able to navigate the city with ease. We did not see them until we checked out! Our privacy was respected as we relaxed in the perfectly appointed apartment in between our touring this amazing city! We lacked nothing! The decor is so attractive and comfortable! The newly renovated bathroom and shower are very accommodating. The location of their home is perfect for walking the city! One very important fact, the apartment was spotless and the exterior beautifully appointed with perennials, blooming bushes and plants. It had the feel of a resort in the city. If we are fortunate enough to return to Portland we will definitly stay with them again!

A simply lovely apartment in heart of Portland

My husband and I just returned from a three day stay in Portland at this VRBO and loved every minute of being there. Barry & Sue are lovely people who reside on the second floor while we had the first floor apartment. They gave us all the info we needed; we went to the Portland Museum of Art one day followed by a great dinner at The Little Tap Room; the next day, we toured the Victoria Mansion which requires advance reservations; Don't Miss It! Some people were turned away without reservations. The apartment was meticulously clean, and had all the kitchen gadgets one would need if they chose to prepare meals in. The living room was comfy, and the bed and pillows were as well. We had a designated parking place about 100 feet from the apt. We were able to walk to the museum AND the Victoria Mansion without any difficulty. Our three days in Portland were delightful and just an FYI: you will need to make reservations at restaurants well in advance of coming to Portland. Many were booked solid in August.

Why they chose this property

Location,location, location! After living in the country, when our children left home, we downsized and moved in to the city. We fell in love with the charm of our Victorian building and being in Portland, where everything is convenient and exciting!
