About this property
Mountain River Base Camp
Your adventure begins where the mountains meet the river. Treat your friends and family to our one-of-a-kind 3-bedroom, 2-bath home in the White Mountains.
Built to blend with its natural surroundings without a single neighbor or other home in sight. With 1500 feet of frontage on the beautiful Pemigewasset River it is nestled into a North facing hillside looking up the river at views of several of the most picturesque peeks in the White Mountains. Watching the first and last sunlight on clear days as it cascades across the high mountain peeks and fills the house with an amazing alpenglow is an experience that is likely to warm you even on the coldest days (best with lights off).
The home is cozy yet airy and spacious. While pet friendly, it was built to be hypoallergenic, with whole house fresh air exchange, heated floors and no carpets to trap allergens.
When you are not admiring the mountain and river views from the wraparound deck or cozy great room, enjoy easy access to local snowmobile trails, ski resorts and fine dining. This location is central to major attractions like White Mountain National Park (hiking), Loon, Cannon, Waterville Valley and Tenney Mountain ski resorts as well as the lakes region. The home location offers the best of both worlds of being on State maintained road, offering easy access to main routes of travel, while being nicely secluded at the same time. Base Camp is in the middle of nowhere yet a short drive from all the region has to offer.
If you love this region you will not find a more relaxing and enjoyable home and setting in which to spend quality time with your friends and family. We hope you will be our guests.

About the host
Hosted by corey c smith
We enjoy sharing our home with respectful and appreciative guests and hope that guests will enjoy our home as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
I did not choose this neighborhood so much as it chose me, as Campton is where I grew up. I love the area and would not trade it for living anywhere else in the world. Swimming, canoeing, fishing, hiking, skiing and just plain living in the mountains are among many of the fun regional activities that we enjoy taking advantage of.
What makes this property unique
It is a great location on the Pemigewasset River, due to being the furthest river location from the highway, having deep water swimming, gorgeous beaches, no neighbors and due to being perfectly situated to view the largest mountains around. It is also highly efficient and modestly sized. We custom built the house with raised paneling and natural wood and tile throughout.
