This is a beautiful place! We had a visit from the horses that we got to pet. There is only 1000 gallons of water we had 5 people used it sparingly and did not run out. There are 4 cameras on the property outside. The host were nice and friendly did not give us any trouble. We would stay again.

Hi Milton! Thanks for you 5 star review! So glad you had a great time and got a visit from the horses! We're very conscientious of making sure guests have more than enough water and always schedule extra water delivery for longer stays. :) We've never had anyone run out! We highly respect & value our guests' privacy and mainly use the camers when the cabin is vacant or to be notified when someone arrives. Thanks again for being such great guests and we would happily host your group again!
The cabin was well stocked with so many kitchen basics it made it easy to cook. There were all the pots, pans, dishes, utensils along with condiments and spices! The beds were all very comfortable. We all slept the best we have in weeks. The hosts were very easy to communicate with. They don’t have any crazy asks or check in/ out requirements. Very per friendly even though we left our dogs at home. I’d bring them with next time.
Beautiful, peaceful stay. We enjoyed our stay at this property. Comfortable beds, clean, private, beautiful sunsets/sunrise! Would definitely visit this property again.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for leaving our place in such great condidition!
This property was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy and the available acreage to explore. The views were amazing. As you can imagine, it's not easy to get to the grocery store--the stocked pantry and fridge were a nice bonus. The second floor was like a retreat in itself--it offered great family separation when needed. We never had a problem with running out of water and we just over-packed to compensate for the lack of washer/dryer. We would definitely stay here again!A few things to note. These are in no way deter my 5-star review, are items I feel like future guests may want to know--1) the last 9 miles to the cabin is a pretty rough dirt road. We were able to get to the house with our SUV (pulling a trailer), but it's quite bumpy and slow going. Our last day out was after a good rain and it made the road a little trickier. It is doable for sure with 4WD or AWD. I'm not sure I'd take my car.2) the kitchen counters are about 4-6 inches higher than the standard countertop. If you like to cook and find yourself using the counters, stove and sink often, it may be difficult if you are of shorter stature. I am 5'8" and I found the counter-height to be a bit cumbersome.3) Unlike the counters (which are built for a tall person), the downstairs ceilings are the opposite. The men in my family are 6'3" and they barely cleared the 1st floor ceiling fans. If you are 6'4" or taller, know that you will be dodging some ceiling fan blades on the first floor.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're so glad you loved your stay! We too love the seclusion and privacy on the Mesa, the wild horses, and it's hard to beat 70 acres to roam and explore! The kichen counters are a little bit higher than the standard- I love it because I'm tall (5'9") but I get that it might be less than ideal for someone shorter. The downstairs ceilings, however are the standard 8 feet high. Thank you again for taking great care of our home away from home and for sharing your experience with our future guests!
The place was clean, well equipped, had lots of fun things to do and very welcoming. It was a great getaway to find some peace of mind and spend family time off the grid. I would recommend this for anyone 10 thumbs up Amanda was a fabulous host and communicated very well.
Myself, my spouse, her brother and his wife enjoyed three quiet nights and days at Wild Horse Mesa. Easy self check-in. The cabin was big with plenty of space for everyone. We enjoyed cooking in the well appointed kitchen and relaxing on the large covered porch. The wild horses visited for several hours on two of the mornings. Just beautiful, especially with the view of the mountains behind them.Angela and David were excellent hosts, very friendly and knowledgeable, quick to help and great communication. So happy with our peaceful and relaxing stay.
We had a great getaway at this home! We were looking for a relaxing stay in southern Colorado for our family of three and two dogs. The house was so comfortable and welcoming. The second floor had beautiful views and a great space for gathering and relaxing. The property was amazing - we loved the yard and there were lots of trails on the property to explore. The welcome book included a scavenger hunt with a "gnome village" that we visited a few times during our stay. The neighborhood is very quiet and we enjoyed long walks on dirt roads with beautiful views and a few sightings of the wild horse herd. The house was within an hour of the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument. We loved our stay here and plan to return again!
