Great for multi family groups

We had a great time at Steve’s place. We really enjoyed the indoor fire place that kept the whole place toasty warm. The location is very quiet amd the kids enjoyed seeing the deer walk by several times a day. The set up of the house is perfect if you are traveling with several families. The multiple bathroom and floors allow for families have some privacy still while enjoying the space together. The house is equiped with everything you need and was very clean. I think its a great spot for any season.

Very Pleasant Stay- highly recommended

The property is far more beautiful than the pictures… which don’t do justice. It’s very spacious, clean and well equipped. Loved the greenery and the deer, absolutely enjoyed bonfires every night at the fire pit, as the weather was turning cooler. The fall colors in the area were beautiful. The owner Steven was very accommodating… he let us check in hours ahead and check out hours later, thereby almost giving us an extra day at no cost. Would go back to this log chalet again and highly recommend it to everyone.

mountain vacation

Owner was easy to communicate with. Property was spacious and clean in a wooded community with lots of deer rooming around. The lake and pool were about a 8 minute drive from the house - we enjoyed both. Would stay here again.

Our kids didn’t want to leave the place.

The place was more than what we’ve expected. Best for family’s and friends. The owner was very informative about all the amenities near by and easy to be contact and 5 minutes away from the ski mountain so definitely any skiers would die for but recommended not only for skiers but just a quiet weekend get away. We’ll definitely come back during winter.

Girls Get Together

This was such a wonderful place to stay. After another home didn’t work out we booked this home last minute. Steve made it so easy to get everything together quickly and effortlessly. No one in our group have been to this area before and Steve gave us many suggestions (one was a fantastic winery that was a perfect day activity). I highly recommend staying here.

Our Home During Woodstock 50th Anniversary

This house was perfect for our group of 7. The kitchen had everything we needed and the owner worked with us for items we needed during our stay since we flew in from Illinois. We would stay there again.

Wonderful house and literally close to nature!

The house had everything we needed in it. The grandchildren loved seeing the deer every day come up to the house. A total of three families (11 people total) stayed and it didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. Steve was quick in responding to my texts on a couple of questions I had. I do wish that the one slider screen had not been torn as it did allow for some bugs to fly in so I hope that can be repaired for the next guest. The swimming pool was wonderful and just a short drive there. The grandchildren even loved the lake! The weather didn’t cooperate to have bonfires but we made do with other things. We were glad for the washer & dryer as a stomach bug hit the little kids 4 days into our vacation. Air conditioners were nice in the bedrooms but you might want to bring a fan or two for the main level of the house on hot days! Also I suggest bringing your own sharp knives as we had a hard time finding any in the kitchen. (My husband used to cut meat & he’s used to this.) We loved being able to grill outside on those nice days and the grill provided was wonderful for our big group!! Our family was sad to leave but happy to have had this large house to accommodate all of us. Thank you Steve for sharing your house!

Home Away From Home

We've been going to Masthope for a couple of years and have rented a few homes. This is by far the very best. Has everything you can ever need while on vacation. Very cozy and relaxing. Very beautiful and well maintained home. You don't have to bother about linens and towels (they have plenty, good quality and clean!) - one thing I hated about other rentals is having to bring in your own. The owner is very easy to work with. He responds quickly to texts and emails. We will definitely rent this one again on our next trip.

Wonderful mountain house get away for all!

My family of 5 had a wonderful vacation in this beautiful and very spacious mountain home. We loved the fact that the Master bedroom was located on the main level, giving us adult privacy. The two boys loved the bunk beds and thought they were part of the adventure. My preteen daughter had her own room away from her brothers. Our daily adventures to the lake included; paddle boats , kayaks, dock fishing and beach front volley ball. The pools are gorgeous, the big kids loved the slides, and the wading pool was perfect for my 5 yr old. The restaurants were delicious, and the pool side pizza was the perfect answer to not cooking, so the kids could swim in the evening. And I can't forget to mention the mango margaritas at the Tiki Bar! We also went to the stables for horseback riding and feeding the animals. I would recommend this home to all who are looking for a mountain get away filled with both relaxation and mini adventures.

A great vacation stay at a beautiful chalet in a fun, active community

We truly enjoyed our weekend getaway in this beautiful chalet at Masthope this summer. The house is very comfortable, clean and spacious... we were supplied with everything we needed for a home away from home. The owner, Steve, is a pleasure to work with. Steve is easy to reach on his cell phone and very accommodating. The setting was perfect for relaxing in the wooded setting with deer wandering through the yard, the kids love that, and at the same time we have access to wifi, cell service and cable tv when we wanted it. We really liked that it's only a 10 minute walk to have fun in the pool complex. We spent the weekend split between the lake and the pool. The lake was a lot of fun. We enjoyed the clean beach area, we played volley ball and newcomb on the sand court, we fished off the pier and borrowed kayaks from the community to paddle around the lake. The pool was just as much fun. We played in the water for hours, plenty of seating around the pool and a convenient tiki bar for drinks and snacks. We had a wonderful weekend away and would highly recommend your house to anyone looking to spend time in the Poconos. We look forward to visiting the area again and hope that this house is available when we do. Thank you Steve for a very pleasant experience.

A wonderful time at The Log Chalet

Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Log Chalet over the President's Day weekend. It's our yearly pilgrimage to Masthope, where we gather with family and friends, and our first stay at this home. The photos don't do this home justice. Everyone had the same impression the moment they came over. Beautiful on the outside, warm and inviting on the inside. As soon as you come in, there's a room for your skis and boards, hooks for your ski jackets and a place to warm your boots. Upstairs, the wood burning fireplace removed the chill in our bones (It was very cold - below zero!) from our time on the slopes at Big Bear. (By the way, the Lodge at Big Bear has fantastic burgers!) Bedrooms are comfortable and spacious. We took a day trip across the Delaware into New York, traveling over the historic Roebling Bridge and down to Barryville. There, we made a left onto Rt.55 (There's a great restaurant/bar on the corner called The Carriage House.) to Eldred for dinner at Henning's Local, a top notch restaurant at the old fishing and hunting preserve. Great place, great food! No matter where we went, it was always a pleasure returning to The Log Chalet. I would love to see what this home is like in the summer! There's a very nice pool at The Lodge as well as a beautiful lake with swimming and boating just minutes away - and don't forget the Delaware's right there too, with scores of tube and raft rentals close by. Our every dealing with Steve, the home's owner, was an effortless pleasure. He's friendly and funny, and mostly concerned you have the best time possible. We did, and would recommend The Log Chalet to any family looking for a great comfortable get away or vacation.
