About this property

The Blue Elk - Lake Huron Views & Beach Access

Welcome to The Blue Elk - a brand new 3 bedroom home with Lake Huron views, beach access just a short walk away, and "Up North" vibes throughout. Located at the end of a quiet dead end street. Perfect for family vacations, romantic getaways, couples retreats, and more. Whether you enjoy long walks on the beach, sunrises, bird watching, a morning coffee with music on the record player, reading a book outside, or a glass of wine in the evening, this place has "tranquility" written all over it.

This is a two-story home with 3 bedrooms and 1 bath.

The Master Bedroom is located upstairs. It has a view deck a the top of the stairs with two lounge chairs (looking out the large windows in front). It also has a brand new Casper King bed with two Big Joe love sacks for lounging and reading. It also has a brand new television.

The main floor has an open concept with a fully stocked kitchen, a 6 person dining table, a living room with a love set and two cozy chairs. The bathroom is right across from the kitchen.

There two bedrooms on the main floor (one on each side of the hallway). The "Green" room has a brand new Casper queen mattress. The "Blue" room has a a brand new Casper queen mattress, as well as a trundle mattress underneath.

The laundry room is on the main floor and down the hallway by the back entrance.

Has everything you need for a vacation getaway. Great decor, clean and very comfortable. Beautiful deck on front with comfortable seating & lighted umbrella for night and spacious backyard with fire pit & tiki torches! Had a great time!

A Perfect Restful Retreat

We enjoyed the access to the beach, walking 3 km up the beach to the Au Sable River. The cottage was thoughtfully appointed and impeccably clean. We hope to return!

Great Family Getaway

This was the perfect place for a quick family get away. Place was beauftful and the hosts really go above and beyond with the amenities offered. The kitchen is fully stocked and not with cheap dollar store cookware either! All the little details made for a wonderful time spent with family :)

Pure Michigan Getaway

The Blue Elk is a great home located steps away from Lake Huron. We enjoyed the sunrise through the windows each morning and walked over to the sandy beach each day. The house is adorably decorated, very clean, and had everything we needed for a weekend getaway.

We had a lovely stay at the Blue Elk cottage. Great communication with the owners. The cottage was well-appointed and had everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Quiet neighborhood and pretty area. We look forward to coming back for another stay!

My family was visiting from Maryland and really wanted to be near a beach. This location was perfect for that. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed and very cozy to stay in. We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing that was hard is that the big windows on the doors at the front of the house don’t have blinds or curtains so it was alarming at night for it. I definitely should have looked harder to see that was the case lol. But either way we had a great time and the host was great too anytime we had any questions.

Hola everyone! My name is Ivonne and I co-host this property with my husband, Bernie. We own a few other properties directly on Lake Huron, but recently purchased The Blue Elk because it has more of an "Up North" feel on a quiet dead end street. And it is super close to the beach/lake (just a short walk away), yet far enough away for safety reasons with young children (a HUGE factor for us). We have four (4) kids and many nieces and nephews. It just gives us a peace of mind that the lake is not directly in front of the house!

I am originally from Puerto Rico and the sugar sand beach and views in the summer reminds me of the hidden beaches in Puerto Rico...but in Michigan! We are so excited to share this unique property with you and hope to build a small family of repeat visitors who love it just as much as we do!
