Pros:Great view, good location, safe, quiet, has all the cooking pots and pans you need, free parking on site, staff was nice.Cons:A/C was broken the first 24 hours. Management says this will get fixed. Bunk beds are not made for anyone over the age of 5. Pool and hot tub were closed for 5 days due to maintenance.
The location is great with beautiful beach views and easy beach access. We do enjoy staying here at this location, but this unit could definitely use some work! The balcony door is very hard to open, and the cheap plastic furniture out there is uncomfortable and flimsy, feels unsteady. The futon couch is uncomfortable for any purpose. The only dish cloth has a big hole in the middle of it, so we bought one to leave from a dollar store. The silverware drawer and sorter were dirty and crumby, some dishes not clean. The master bed has an odd sponge-like thick foam topper which was a bit hot and very uncomfortable for one of us, so he slept in the small hall bunk. The bedroom curtains are very stained and couldn't be opened, as something is wrong with the mechanism. The towel bar by the master bath door is partially hanging off the wall, and the towel ring is a bit precarious too. There's a big black stain on the shower curtain and black mark on the door. There's only one regular wash cloth to go with all the towels in the unit. There's no hair dryer, which many places include. Also, this unit does not offer included beach chairs and umbrella rental, which many here do, nor are there any in the unit to use. My hub asked the owner about this before we left and received no response. On the plus side, the hall bath has nice additional storage, makeup wash cloths are included, and this unit has a toaster oven which is unusual. We would not stay in this particular unit again.
My husband and I and some friends have stayed in Pelican Isle units several times now. The location is great with beautiful beach views and easy beach access. We do enjoy staying here, however some, like #216, could definitely use some work! The balcony door is very hard to open, and the cheap plastic furniture out there is uncomfortable and not sturdy, especially for anyone 170lbs. The futon couch is uncomfortable for any purpose. The only dish cloth has a big hole in the middle of it, so we bought one to leave there from Dollar Tree. The silverware drawer, sorter were dirty and crumby, some dishes not clean. Great condo! Perfect for our family. Beds slept great, plenty of room. Living room furniture could definitely have been more comfortable but we made it work. Great view and easy to get to.
