Our party of 12 adults and 12 kids (age 4-12) had a great stay at the Chocolay Manor. It was very clean and spacious. Jason communicated well and was even willing to meet me beforehand to tour the property. The pool was a big hit and we appreciated the ability to keep the pool space locked when needed. The kitchen had what we needed for meal prep and was large enough for our group. We brought a few tables and chairs for the patio and it was a beautiful place to hang out during the evening and watch the sky change colors with the sunset. It's fairly close to Marquette but very quiet and private. Definitely recommend!

This sprawling home was built in the 70’s without central AC. This was the norm at the time. We have 10 large, portable AC units we distribute throughout the home for use on the warmer days and nights. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay. We had 9 grandchildren that thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Location near Marquette was a real bonus. Nearest grocery store was only 10 minutes away. Host was very gracious, meeting us at property to show us around. Beds were comfortable and sheets, towels (pool and bath) were aplenty. Kids enjoyed seeing the animals at the adjacent farms. Kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to make all of our meals. My only criticism is minor but the landscaping and patio could really use a refresh. I will add that having the laundry and the air conditioning was a pleasant surprise as the listing said no AC and no laundry.

Supportive and flexible host, attentive to unexpected challenges (e.g., blizzard at check out!). Large group with many age and ability levels and the space met everyone's wants and needs. Had a great time.

The pool and hot tub are outstanding amenities to this property.and our extended family of 10 made good use of them. They are centrally located in the house and the result is that if you are not vigilant, the house begins to feel like a giant pool house:-) There is not much else on the property itself- no outdoor games, no significant outdoor seating. The layout of the house is a bit strange- the second largest bedroom is at one end of the house and has a half bath across the hall, but no shower- you need to walk to the other end of the house for that. The dining room is set up for 25 people- feels like a small convention room- but the kitchen pots and pans are more minimal if you ever wanted to cook for a large group. One pound of pasta is the limit:-) Lots of sleeping spots, though. Very convenient to Marquette activities and very quiet.

Marquette Estate - Fantastic

Several of us rented the Marquette Estate. Everything was as listed. It was clean, comfy, well stocked and communication with Jason was amazing. We swam, we cooked, played cards, sat in the hot tub, went to town and shopped (and stopped at the breweries). Overall we would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

HUGE property with amenities galore

Jason’s home was an eclectic gem off the beaten path in Marquette. Plenty of space for our group of 12, could’ve easily accommodated 12 more with some room to spare. Amenities all worked well - indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, back patio fireplace, grill, etc. - and we took full advantage due to some spotty weather in August. Highly underrated stargazing views too! Jason was a welcoming host, very communicative, and ensured we had a great stay. Would recommend this property to any large groups making the journey to the UP any time of the year.

Tons of space!

This house has great space. Our large group had room to spread out. Kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. At night we enjoyed sitting on the patio and looking at the stars. Super convenient to Marquette, short ride to Pictured Rocks, and about 2 hours to Tahquamenon. We were the first renters and there were a few things that still needed to be done when we arrived. Owners were easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. We would rent this house again!

Michigan poem written by Millie Miller: HAND OF MICHIGAN God knitted a mitten of wood, rock and lime, Made a foundation to last through all time. He planted his palm with Hemlock and Pine, Then blessed it with rain and sunshine. In all the world there's no other land That God himself patterned from his own hand! Michigan UP known as God’s Country. Sits a house enhanced by that pine. A paradise found; a treat of a little Heaven on earth. Nicest people ever greet you as the host. Our family tree of life moments growing as memories made here will be forever cherished. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay here. For a little pine wood, agate stone is the foundation of a family gathering here. Blessings from the Forsberg family.

Wedding Reception Family Meet and Greet

Guests were in awe of this Estate Home and referred to it as a Mansion! Owner couldn't have been more helpful and even brought over new swim vests for toddlers! The sunsets took your breath away! There wasn't A/C but don't let that stop you as the home stayed cool in the evenings and there was plenty of fans and two window A/C units we didn't even use. A beautiful place to take pictures inside and out! We had an Arbor we'd brought to set up down by the old barnwood outbuilding a short walk away! What a setting to say "I do"! There was plenty of room for rental tables and chairs on the patio, as we had 25 total in attendance. There was plenty of room inside for a group of 25, but we'd already invested in linens and decor for an outdoor sunset dinner at 7pm. It was a very short drive to downtown Marquette or Munising and so much to see. I feel an annual anniversary repeat perhaps next year! We will stay again! Wish we could attach pictures of the sunset!

Our best family get together yet

My family got together to celebrate a 70th, 50th, and 23rd birthday. We had 10 adults and 2 little ones. The sprawling layout is nice with mostly first floor bedrooms for people who don’t do stairs well. The bedroom and bathroom layouts are pretty strange. All the bathrooms with a shower are connnected and the main one is intended to be a public pool shower, so if it’s not all family or close friends it could feel awkward. We made it work. We had a blast in the pool and hot tub and enjoyed morning saunas. We had a fun party and game night in the dining room and had plenty of space in the kitchen for our buffets. The overall amenities are great. My biggest suggestion is to add hooks all over the house. There was no closet bars or hangers to hang anything up like jackets and purses and especially wet swim suits and pool towels. We found everything we needed in the kitchen for the most part including a keurig, a regular coffee maker, multiple crock pots, and serving bowls and platters. We were happy to have brought a brita pitcher for filling water bottles and making coffee. The appliances are nice and the extra fridge was great for drinks. It’s a great gathering house and we plan to come back again!
