About this property

Simply Southern Cabin Winter Adventures!!

Our beautiful log cabin is in a private setting. Outside fire pits and picnic area. Large yard for outdoor lawn games. Pipesteam State Resort is only 1/2 a mile away with many adventure activities such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, Zip-lining, fishing, and many more. Bluestone Lake is a few miles down the road with boat & jet ski rentals. See beautiful waterfalls that are nearby. Winter Place Ski Resort is 30 minutes away. Come & spend your adventures at our beautiful log cabin.
Our home away from home is a peaceful setting in the tall pine trees. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch in the swing or in the rocking chairs. Or have your breakfast on the back porch.
You'll also see occasional wildlife such as deer or wild turkeys.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Leave used sheets on the bedroom floor where they came off of the bed. Leave used towels in the bathtub. Load dishwasher and start. Dish detergent is under the sink.
All garbage MUST BE BAGGED and placed in the garbage cans at the end of the driveway with the lids secured.
Remove all food and drinks. Empty ice and turn off ice maker. Leave TV remotes on the fireplace mantel.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
NO HOUSE PARTIES-Inside or out
No wearing shoes inside the cabin. Shoes off at the door.
Safety rules due to insurance regulations 1. No fires in the fireplace. 2. No infants-2 years allowed on the 2nd floor. 3. No parking in the yard.

The cabin was very clean and well stocked for a family of 11. It had everything a family could need for a family gathering. The decor was warm and inviting, beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet and the setting so rustic and wooded. The host was so very nice and easy to get in touch with. She was very receptive to my questions as well. I would highly recommend this venue.

We had a fantastic stay! We need a large place for the family while we visited Concord In Athens. This cabin offers lots of room. The kitched is nicely stocked. The decor has lots of quilts and country pieces. Very clean inside. We got to see turkeys and one very large owl at night. The host Lee Ann is a great communicator. We will certainly stay again when we come up to Pipestem.

I stayed for 8 nights in this exquisitely built house! The attention to detail in the construction was superb, really beautiful. All amenities were available. The fire pit and grill were outstanding with outdoor lighting around the perimeter. All my guests remarked how lovely this cabin was. Much DiscGolf and Golf was enjoyed but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate for the Perseid Meteor Shower. Too many clouds.

Beautiful getaway in the hills

Very clean, well equipped and furnished with lots of beds and seating, antique decorations, toys and games for indoor and outdoors. Lots of room. The cabin is located among trees and the porches are perfect to just sit and enjoy the outdoors. The host was easy to communicate with and proactive. Lots of parking - we had 2 trucks with trailers carrying motorcycles which we unloaded and rode all around that part of West Virginia and it was perfect.

Winter Crazy Conditions

The road to the cabin was iced over and dangerous. Not the fault of owner obviously but an issue. 4WD truck had trouble so no way church bus was getting there. Had to walk in from about 1/4 mile. Cabin was very nice. Normal winter weather would have prob been fine.

I am born and raised in this beautiful state of West Virginia. I was raised in a small town about 20 minutes south of our state capital, however I spent my summers in the mountains and rivers of the Pipestem/Hinton area. I built my dream cabin in 2009 for my family to enjoy. We love it so much we have decided to share it with others.

Why they chose this property

We are in a great little development with nice space between each home to make you feel secluded from the world. You’ll be among the tall pine trees and will enjoy wildlife during your visit.

What makes this property unique

Our beautiful home is big enough for the whole family but cozy for just two of you! You can have a campfire in one of two fire pit areas. Relax on the full covered porches or play your choice of yard games. Many adventure activities are less than 3 minutes away, Hiking, Biking, Zip-lining, fishing, or swimming. The lake is 10 minutes away with boat rentals. Winterplace Ski Resort is 30 minutes away.
