Shed with plumbing
We stayed one night in February. This place is smaller than an average kitchen and a really tall person may not be able to stand up straight. There is no heat. We had to purchase a space heater to stay warm. No wifi. Antenna for tv. Complimentary roach spray. Never saw one. Its basically a shed in a parking lot. Comfortable bed. Small refidgerator no freezer. Short walk to downtown Beaufort.
I originally booked the Bungalow, but was informed that due to a “double booking,” we were being moved to the East Lodge instead. That was just the beginning of a truly awful stay. When we arrived, the driveway was littered with old indoor carpets that smelled absolutely terrible — like mold and wet garbage. As soon as we stepped into the house, we were hit in the face by the overpowering stench of mildew and mold. It only got worse from there. The “towels” offered for rent were literally hand towels — not even remotely sufficient. Thankfully, we had brought a few of our own. The pillows reeked of cat urine, which was especially disgusting since we didn’t even bring a pet. It made sleeping nearly impossible. Now, everything we brought with us — clothes, bags, even toiletries — all smell like mildew. It’s unacceptable. To top it all off, there’s a sign on the fridge threatening a 200 cleaning fee if you don’t clean before you leave — even though the check-in email clearly states checkout is at 10am to allow time for their own cleaning service to prepare for the next guests. Which one is it?I’ve stayed at many Airbnbs, and I’ve never had an experience this bad. Avoid this place at all costs. It was unsanitary, poorly managed, and a total bait-and-switch from what I actually booked.
