Don't just go to Loreto, Live in Loreto - sustainably! This beautifully constructed beachfront eco retreat is located 15 minutes north of Loreto town center. Your one story private casita with rooftop viewing deck, has two king-size bedrooms, 2 baths, a full kitchen, dining and living area situated directly on a secluded beach with views of Coronado island. We have a large solar heated private pool for the enjoyment of our guests. Staying at our off-grid retreat does not mean you can't have the comforts of home while enjoying paradise. Your casita features high speed Wi-Fi internet, TV with Blu-ray player. as well as a library of DVD's to enjoy. The roof-top viewing deck of your casita gives you a 360 degree view of the Sea of Cortez and the mountains. Due to our location outside of the town, the nighttime star gazing from your roof-top deck is incredible.

As an eco retreat, our electricity is provided by solar panels, we recycle our waste water for our garden and we strive to use eco-friendly products in our casitas, such as luxury bamboo sheets and towels.

As well as our on site pool, beach activities available to you include kayaking , swimming from our safe swimming beach, snorkeling and beach fishing. One of Loreto's finest restaurants, La Picazon is a short beach walk away. Tours and other activities can be arranged upon your arrival.

Peaceful hideaway on the water!

This is just what we wanted: A quiet getaway on the Sea of Cortez. It was nice to be able to swim in the salt water and also have a pool as well. And one of the best restaurants in the area just a short walk away! Villa Linda Mar was the perfect spot for us and we were sad to leave.

we had a lovely time! Linda and Johannes were warm and welcoming and very responsive to any questions we had. The sunsets were amazing from the roof and we had some really fun kayak excursions and then would go to La Picazon (half mile away) for an amzing meal and drinks. Swam near dolphins on the last day! The bed was super comfortable!

Wonderful Experience!!

These casitas are perfect if you are looking for a beautiful location, steps from the water, friendly hosts, and a relaxing retreat! The casitas were clean and well laid out, They were spacious enough for the 4 of us without feeling crowded. Linda and Johannas are delightful hosts always making us feel welcome and attentive to our needs. This setting is truly a home away from home! We highly recommend Villa Linda Mar without reservation!! We hope to be back

Peaceful location and fabulous owners!

We enjoyed our short but sweet visit very much. Linda and Johannes have built a great community of their own. They have everything you need to make your visit a grand one. It is quiet and relaxing as well as very convenient to the city (Loretto). They also went out of their way to help us locate some items we needed to take with us to our next destination as well. Thank you! We are hoping our next visit will be longer and we are already talking about bringing friends and family.

Las Casitas stay was awesome

Johannes and Linda were top of the line hosts. They were always attent to our needs and make us feel supercomfortable. House was clean and had all the amenities available. We feel like in our home but in the beach instead 😊. Beautiful mornings and nights with the views of the Isla Coronado. We were able to see dolphins during our stay. Johannes and Linda answered all our questions and they seem very knowledgeable of the area. Very safe place to visit. We will stay again for sure! Thank you so much.

We really like the property and visiting with the hosts. It's an off grid property so we always ask a lot of questions about that, and had a great conversation with Linda and Johannes. Casita's are beautiful, everything works well. It is a long, slow drive out there - while not that many kilometers, it's on a windy, dirt/rock road and is a good 20-25 mins from the Malecon, and shopping/dining services. Bring a high clearance rental!

If you want a unique experience living off the grid this is for you. The night sky without ANY light pollution, steps away from Loreto Bay, beautiful morning and evening sky's then this is for you. The owners were friendly and helpful with an interest story about how this all came about. The only downside is the road in which, shall we say, is rather unimproved.

Comfort in a gorgeous setting

The setting is amazing, right on the sea with the desert all around, huge rugged mountains behind and the wide clear sky above. This is 20 minutes outside of town, so extremely quiet and peaceful. Our two bedroom, two bath casita was very nice with comfortable beds, beautiful outdoor sitting areas and a well-equipped kitchen. Kayaks and snorkeling gear are for guests' use. Though it was too chilly to use the pool (in early February), it looked inviting. The fact that all this luxury is available off the grid made it interesting to think of all the planning that had to go into this. Johannes and Linda were perfect hosts from the first communication to the last. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Loreto

Linda and Johannes were present and available. The location is beautiful, about a 20-30 minute drive on a dirt road from Loreto. Stargazing was beautiful from the rooftop deck. Also beautiful view of the gulf. Beach was a rock beach, not sandy. It was beautiful, but not great for kid play or a walk down the beach. Pool was a little on the cold side it being February and solar heated. Saw some great wildlife, birds, dolphins and blue whales from the casita. Also did several boat trips to islands in the Marine park and saw some up close! The listed price was not accurate, there is an undisclosed expectation of an increased rate for more than 2 people. Linda and Johannes met us when we arrived and were responsive and hospitable throughout our stay.

Sunny reprieve away from people

While the property location is remote, it’s close enough to town to get supplies. Our goal was to relax and do nothing, and this was a great spot for that. The casita was clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Everyone else staying there was pleasant, and they were all staying much longer than the week we had rented. I will say the sea was hard to get in and out of with any waves because of the ‘rocks’ (small boulders), but manageable if you are motivated. The pool was listed as ‘solar heated’ but please read that is only as hot as the coldest nighttime temperature. We did enjoy the pool on the days that were not windy, and would have enjoyed it more if a touch more care was put into keeping it cleaned. If you you like watching the sunrise from your front porch, relaxing during the day, and catching the sunset from the rooftop after preparing a nice dinner then this place is for you.

Great location for relaxing and ditching the lights and bustle of the city and enjoying natural beauty. Local restaurant cooked our fresh catch and the hike to Shell Canyon was great. Over 5 km of dirt road well worth it arriving at the destination. Stunning.

Beautiful location on the coast North of Loreto. Top of the line accommodations and amenities. We regularly cooked our meals in the well appointed kitchen and barbecued utilizing the common patio area. Morning sunrises on the patio and nightly fires on the beach were amazing. Johannes and Linda were wonderful host and shared their wealth of knowledge of the local area with us. Highly recommend this location and will stay there again on our next trip to Loreto.

Contentment surrounded by undisturbed beauty of Nature

Linda and Johannes have created a natural environment using local, environmentally respectful products. They are full of enthusiasm and knowledge about their greater Loreto community. Their gracious welcome (also from their dog Teddy and curious Tabby cat) and their suggestions for adding to the best sources to enjoy Sea of Cortez were a 10+. We especially enjoyed following them to the Sunday farmers' market where I bought camarones (shrimp) caught early that morn! The 25 minute dirt road drive would have been easier on my lower back if we'd been recommended to rent a SUV or Jeep! We agreed we will bring our our own pillows next time. We also would plan to visit a few weeks later in the year, and if not, I'd bring warmer layers. I was disappointed that the pool water was too chilly for me. This is a serene spot to regroup and reclaim a sense of reverence. We found the nearby restaurant, Picazon excellent and dined their 3 times, for lunch, appetizers and margaritas and dinner. We loved all the new and different chile relenno preparations! Wishing I were looking out at The Sea of Cortez and Isla coronado right now!

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay. Gorgeous views of Isla Coronado and the Sea of Cortez.

We loved our beautiful blue casita and it could not have been more comfortable or more attractive. We loved on the patio and we enjoyed hearing the birds and watching the pangas go by on the water. We used the kayaks and the pool. The beach is quite rocky, no sand, but easy to manage. I found some unusual shells. I highly recommend this great spot, especially if you want to be off the grid for awhile! Loreto turned out to be our favorite town after traveling for two weeks and doing the entire southern loop. The drive to Loreto is spectacular with views of mountains & sea!

Amazing Views and Quiet Place

The house is incredible comfortable, all services and facilities. The Kuehls are very nice, attentive and helpful. They are very fast on follow ups, they care for their guests. We want to go back, and will plan on doing so, as soon as we have another opportunity. We are already recommending them to our friends. Beautiful location on the Sea of Cortez

We stayed for 18 days in February and wished it was longer. You can tell this has been quite the project with 3 casitas finished and one about to be done. There was no construction while they had guests on site. The location and setting are perfect for a quiet vacation. We stayed in Casita Carmen which is the closest to the sea and the most private. They just finished their pizza oven and hosted a pizza party while we were there! Maybe you'll be lucky and they'll do it again. It is a remote location away from town, but is only a 10-15 minute drive through the desert. Linda & Johannes are very helpful if you need them, but otherwise you don't have much interaction with people out in this little oasis on the sea.

Villa Linda Mar

Our stay at Villa Linda Mar exceeded our expectations. Its a short 12 or 15 minute drive out side of Loreto down a gravel road. It's very peaceful and private and away from the noise of town. It suited us to a "T" . We were able to enjoy all kinds of wild life, from birds, reptiles, gecko's and of course all the sea life. We enjoyed having morning coffee and watching the dolphins swim past and we could see the whales spouting off in the distance. Had we stayed in town we would of missed all that beauty. Linda and Johannes are excellent hosts and made us feel right at home. They were very helpful in showing us how to get around town, best places to eat, hiking trails and arranging our fishing, whale watching and snorkeling trips. Linda was also great at letting us know of local events we may be interested in attending. The casita's were excellent and had all the comforts of home. Very clean and maintained. Hats off to the maid service who out did herself every time. Thanks again Linda and Johannes for making our vacation so enjoyable
