Distinctive hundred year old house, with beautiful hard wood floors, and stone porch, original arts & crafts architectural detail, directly across from Woodmont beach. This 3500 sq ft home has 6 bedrooms and 3.5 Bathrooms, formal dining room and fully equipped eat-in kitchen. Living room has grand fireplace (gas). Baby grand piano in living room. Home office and wifi for those who need to work. It's a great house for beach vacationing, family reunions, or work retreats. Enjoy sunrises and moonrises over the water. Great breezes and views from the enclosed wrap-around screened in porch, or from the many windows overlooking the beautiful water. Third floor has futon bed for extra sleeping space if needed and playroom ideal for kids. Cozy TV den next to kitchen, lovely backyard garden, outdoor shower for use after the beach. Entire house is newly renovated, with option to use central air. Washer and Dryer in laundry room, 2 Dishwashers, all linens provided, weber grill. Ping Pong Table. Beach, Long Island Sound and fishing off the pier directly in front of the house! Circular driveway for at least 4 cars. 10 minutes from Milford Metro North Train Station; 20 minutes from New Haven Metro North or Amtrak Station (with car rental available); 20 minutes from New Haven. 5 minutes from Yale West Campus.

Check-out is 10:00 a.m. Make sure that the house is tidy, the way you found it when you arrived. Make sure all doors and windows are locked. Make sure the key is in the lock box.
Please put your dirty sheets and linens in the laundry room. IF TOWELS ARE WET, PLEASE HANG THEM UP ON THE LAUNDRY ROOM HOOKS SO THAT THEY DO NOT GET MOLDY. DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN THE WASHING MACHINE.
Please leave the blankets and quilts in the bedrooms, unless they are soiled or dirty.

We were beyond satisfied with our stay at this house! The location was spectacular, with sweeping views of Long Island Sound and the Connecticut coastline; a sandy beach right in front of us; and a nearby grocery store just minutes away. We’ve had many vacations in other states, and this house was the most well-equipped we’ve ever stayed in. Each bedroom offered comfortable bedding, views of the Sound or the beautiful backyard, and plenty of towels and other amenities. The kitchen was a cook’s dream, with plenty of space for our party of nine to spread out and enjoy. But the real centerpiece was the outstanding front and side porch, with a separate screened in porch, stocked with a ping pong table, picnic tables, and chairs galore. We spent all of our time there, and enjoyed the moon rising over the water (including a beautiful strawberry moon) each night. It was the perfect location for our mini family reunion!

Second year staying at this property for a reunion of 10 college friends- the house is amazing, loved the porch and beach, beautiful gardens in back, plenty of parking off-street. We did lots of cooking- great to have 2dishwashers, plus eat-in kitchen and nice big dining room. One slight drawback-3rd floor bedrooms (the 2 rooms w/twin beds) can be a bit warm as AC unit is just at 1 end of the floor, doesn’t go directly into the 2 bedrooms. All other bedrooms on 2nd floor were comfortable.

This is a gorgeous home. We really loved having our family being with us, enjoying meals in the gorgeous dining room and later, playing a variety of games around the fireplace. Another wonderful feature of the home was the ocean view from many of the rooms. Our grandchildren especially loved the opportunity to play ping pong for hours on end. My wife is an artist and she really appreciated looking at the beautiful paintings and prints throughout the house.

This house was amazing! We had 12 people for 2 nights and the space was more than accomodating. Every room was spacious and clean with lots of amenities. Plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. The property is a gem! Beautiful Arts & Crafts woodwork!Nicely appointed and yet comfortable. Kitchen is large and could accomodate all of us gathered at once. Our family has owned this house for a very long time, and we have had joyous years of using the house for summer fun, Christmas time parties, lounging on the porch, watching fireworks on the fourth of July, fishing off the pier, and great nights of cooking for large groups of friends and family. Some of us live in NYC, others in Washington, and others in Connecticut. This is our favorite vacation place.

Why they chose this property

This is a magical house, with warm rich wood and stone details, on the beach, with lots of lovely rooms for rest and privacy, and spacious communal spaces for parties, family reunions, or work retreats.

What makes this property unique

Great location on the beach, perfect for large gatherings, but the house has so much space, and so many remote niches that it is also easy to find a quiet place to curl up and read a book. Private space and party space all wrapped into one incredibly beautiful house!
