Come to the sandy shores of Lake Charlevoix where our Lake Effect Cottage is the perfect retreat for your next getaway. Accommodating up to 10 guests, it’s an ideal escape for families or groups looking to enjoy the beauty of life on the water.
Relax and take in breathtaking lake views from your private sandy beach, where you’ll find kayaks, paddleboards, and a dock for refreshing swims in the crystal-clear water. We have a mooring for your boat too.
Great in the wintertime too- 10 mins to Ski

We live locally and are available in an emergency. Otherwise with general questions or concerns please reach out and we are always happy to help.

Memorial weekend on Lake Charlevoix

We had a great time in Boyne City. The house was wonderful and accurate to the listing. And our host was great. She answered all our questions in a timely manner. We would definitely stay there again!

We loved Lake Effect!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lake Effect House and would absolutely recommend it! The location was a 10/10, and we loved having such easy access to the lake. The kids especially loved the sandy beach, toys, and all of the water equipment. Having the SUPs and kayaks available was such a great bonus, and the water was warm enough that we swam every day. The beds were comfortable, and the house had most of what we needed for a great stay. We cooked most of our meals at home, so the kitchen was a little small for that, but we made it work. A few small things could make the stay even better. There were quite a few spider webs and spiders around the back door area, and some of the branches along the walkway between the car and the house were quite low, which made carrying things back and forth a little awkward. We also ran out of paper towels about halfway through the stay, as there was only one roll provided, and we could have used a few more dish towels and dishwasher pods (ran out of as well only did 1 load a day). Overall, these are pretty minor things, and we had a wonderful stay. The location, lake access, and amenities really made this property special, and with a few small improvements, it would be just about perfect!

During Friday nights you experiences Stroll the Streets where local bands fill the downtown from 6-9pm and the whole town comes down to enjoy. Family friend, free food and music. Lake front property that’s exactly as pictured. House clean and tidy. All listed amenities were found. Appliances were newer & easy to use Do’s and don’t directions were clearly listed. Beds were comfortable and in room air conditioners were easy to set. Host was responsive to messages and requests
