Main Schneckchen Hütte – “Little Snail Cottage” is just six blocks from Main Street. Built in 1910, this charming Victorian home was originally restored in 1995 and has since received many fresh updates. In Germany, “My Little Snail” is a common term of endearment, and this cozy rental truly embodies that warmth. Perfect for traveling couples or small families, the house comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests.
From the moment you walk in, you'll feel the charm and inviting atmosphere. The property includes the main house plus an upstairs back apartment with a separate entrance.

Main House:
One bedroom with a custom-made queen-sized wrought iron bed, offering a quiet retreat.
A living area with a sleeper sofa.
Full kitchen with an island and counter stools for casual dining, fully stocked with cups, glasses, dishes, cutlery, and cookware. Appliances include a Jenn Air stove, convection oven, microwave, coffee pot, and tea kettle.
Full bathroom with a large, modern walk-in shower.
Separate dining room, bright and cheerful, perfect for entertaining.

Upstairs Back Apartment:
One queen bed and two trundle beds, comfortably accommodating up to four guests.

Outdoor Spaces:
Enjoy quiet evenings under the beautiful, large pecan trees.
Backyard features a greenhouse converted into a wine room and plenty of seating.
Outdoor table with four chairs on the back porch, and patio lights in the greenhouse create a relaxing ambiance for a glass of wine before or after dinner.
Front porch offers a peaceful space to sit, read a book, or listen to the birds.

This house was even better in person. Location is excellent for access to downtown and popping out to the wineries. Super clean and the amenities were far above expectations. We will definitely try to use this property again on our next trip to Fredericksburg

Perfect Cottage for Girls’ Trip

This sweet, charming cottage was perfect for our birthday celebration stay. So many cute nooks, seating areas inside and out…very clean…a good amount of towels (thank you!)…great location close to Main St. A separate outside entrance to bedrooms/ bath would make this good for parties wanting some privacy but also common areas. We’ll definitely be back.

Everything Has Been Thought of and Provided!

This property is a perfect retreat for a family that wants private personal space and common gathering areas for meals, drinking wine, and playing games. We found that the property manager had thought of everything and "little details" that one needs when away for a special weekend. We loved the antique furniture, garden/wine greenhouse, and the kitchen island. We hope to return in the future!

this place was adorable. Very clean and very well stocked. we were greeted by cookies, fruit and there was coffee and tea setup there. i have stayed in lots of VRBO properties but this one went way above and beyond. Daughter hadn’t been here in awhile and never in the fall. Would highly recommend it. House has two separate sleeping areas. Adorable old limestone house. Appliances and kitchen updated. Downstairs shower is huge. Beds firmer than I’m used to but still got a good nights sleep. I’d stay here again.

Everything with this booking was great! Roman was in touch with us from the beginning & responded back to our messages promptly. The house was beautiful, with such nice decorating touches and tray of snack bags as we entered. Another couple & we were visiting Fredricksburg for 3 days and it was the perfect place with one couple staying upstairs and the other downstairs so there was plenty of privacy but also a nice living room to be together, a nice dining table, along with a wonderful kitchen with a nice coffee bar area. It was also a perfect location, close to everything we wanted to see while we were there. The wine greenhouse in the back yard is an awesome place and several other wonderful outside sitting areas. We highly recommend staying here!

Girls Wine Trip

This was so perfect for our ladies trip to the wine country! It was within walking distance to the Main Street, where all the shops & restaurants are located. So easy to grab an Uber to take us to the wineries as well! They had coffee available & a delicious lemon homemade cake for us! We loved the wine greenhouse for hanging out at night, laughing & drinking all the wine. Definitely will be back! Thank you, thank you!

Such a gem!

Such a great property! Has everything you would want and more. Kitchen very well equipped for cooking just about anything. Had a great time sitting in the wine greenhouse at night socializing. We stayed with another couple and had plenty of privacy. You could tell everything had been recently updated. Would totally recommend and would stay here again!!
