Riverside Retreat

Welcome to Camp Tamworth, our 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath Cape home situated on 3+ acres of land along the beautiful Bearcamp River. We can comfortably sleep 8 people. We offer a pet friendly home with a fenced in dog pen accessible from the back porch. There is a wrap-around deck with plenty of sun if you just want to hang out at the house and listen to the river. We have a fully functioning kitchen with all major appliances, dishnetwork TV with a wide array of channels including the local channels. We also offer free Wifi for those of you who want to remain in touch. All linens and towels are provided, 24 hour emergency service is available if needed.

Attractions: Situated at the beginning of the White Mountains, yet in the middle of the Lakes Region. Lake Winnipesaukee is 15 minutes away, Lake Ossipee is 15 minutes away. North Conway with all the Outlet stores is 35 minutes away. Bring your canoe or kayak and go down the river. There are nice rapids and slow water on the property. Go tubing to the junction of Cold River and walk the trail back to the house for hours of fun. Head up to North Conway for a day of shopping and dinner out at the famous restaurants in town.

We were totally delighted with cabin! The beds are extremely comfortable. The view from the deck is outstanding and having tea while listening to the river was a real treat. Getting to all that is wonderful about the White Mountains was easy. Highly recommend this rental!

Weekend Up North

We were delighted with our stay at this private, perfect location with an incredible river view. We were able to enjoy lazy mornings with coffee on a deck overlooking the river, tubing, fishing under a covered bridge, outlet shopping, and building a campfire at sunset. The home was very comfortable and well equipped, and the host, super helpful and responsive.

Riverside retreat

My family and golden retriever loved our stay by the river! Jeff was easy to reach and over accommodating. The home was cozy and clean. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked. Nice fire pit, the deck by the river was a great place to sit back and relax. Location was good about 30 min to n Conway or 30 min to Laconia. Fun time for all,

Serenity by the river

Clean. Very comfortable mattresses. Plenty of kitchen supplies. Grill worked great. Close to lots of attractions and things to do. Fishing in the river on the property was awesome! Loved, loved, loved falling asleep to the sounds of the rushing river. Very peaceful location. Owner/host was very attentive, quick and thorough in answering questions. We would love to go back for a longer stay next year.

Hidden Gem

This place was absolutely perfect for our family of 10. It had everything we needed, and the owner was so helpful and responsive. Beautiful home with an amazing river view-truly a hidden gem. The back porch was my favorite spot to be, and the dogs loved the large pen next to the river. Located close to many great restaurants, swimming spots, and coffee shops! We have rented many great places before, but this was my favorite by far, and the owner is so helpful-he made our stay great and helped with all questions we had. Hope to book this place for years to come! 5 stars!

Long Weekend Getaway

This property was perfect for our short stay. It is secluded in the best way; you have your space/ privacy, but also the comfort of neighbors nearby. The house has its little quirks, but I wouldn’t think that anyone would have their experience altered as a result. The pictures of the deck don’t do it justice. We spent much of our mornings and nights there. Bring some string lights and you’ll feel like you’re in a little outdoor oasis especially with that river in the background. The house and property are rightfully dog-friendly — ours is a 15 year old Lab, and he had a blast! Last but not least, I could not end this review without mention of the owner, Jeff. In the best way, I have never worked with such an informative, attentive, and just plain nice property owner, and I’ve done this a lot over the years. He even checked in with me during the stay because we were there when the Great Flood of summer 2023 took place. Overall a solid yet affordable option, especially if you are trying to bring a pup along!

What a great spot! Loved the convenient location and the house was toasty warm when we arrived. Also loved the sound of the river behind the house.. and the house itself had everything.. blankets, games, all supplies we could ever want even Apple TV. Bonus is the fenced in area for the dog, she loved exploring out there. Would stay again, thank you!

Family Ski trip

We wanted a last minute, family ski trip getaway and needed to find a place where we could take the dogs. We found this beautiful house that could accommodate my husband and I, my adult son, my adult, daughter, and my seven year old son, as well as our two large dogs and their crates. The house has a wonderful fenced in area for the dogs to easily go in and out on their own and was the perfect size for all of us to fit comfortably. Having one and a half bathrooms was great and the beds were super comfortable. Plenty of parking and the sound of the River put everyone right to sleep! Only 25 minutes to King Pine ski resort which is an awesome place for families to ski, snowboard or enjoy snow tubing! Lots of great restaurants nearby with super friendly people. Highly recommend for your next family getaway!!

Great weekend spent on the river

We loved this property. Back porch with attatched fenced in dog area was convenient for hanging out by the river while keeping our dog safe. The access to the river was slightly steep but very close. The water was a little too low right now to float but there was a great area behind the house to sit and relax with your feet in the water and enjoy the surrounding nature. Nice updated kitchen was a bonus! And AC! All in all a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Summer birthday weekend

Jeff the house was awesome.! The dogs absolutely loved the water. Very difficult to get in the water for an adult but the dogs had no problem. My suggestion is some kind of path with steps down to the water. We never waded in the water even with the 99 degree temps because it was too difficult to enter. The air conditioning was so great. Our #1 A+ thing since we were in the middle of a heat wave. Clean and spacious, with all amenities available. Plenty of towels and linens. Beds were very comfortable. We have family in the area and plan on returning. Thanks Jeff.

We really enjoyed the house and area of New Hampshire. The kitchen has been updated from the pictures on the site, and is very nice. The dog pen is large and directly accessible from the rear deck, fully enclosed and secure with no leash required for that last "outside" trip before bed.

Home away from home

Very nice property. Loved that we could bring the fur baby with us. And the enclosed dog area was amazing. House was stocked with the supplies you dont think of paper products, food storage etc. Only reason it wasnt a 5 star was there was some small cleanliness concerns, and for a house that sleeps 8 there are only 4 chairs for the table just wished it had folding chairs so the whole family could be around the table.

the property and house were very nice. the restaurants recommended were very good. we did try and clean the grill but it was way to dirty and we didn't have the right tools to clean it. so we didn't use it. the American Flag is worn and should be replaced.

We had a wonderful stay at camp tamworth. As others have mentioned, the house was well-stocked and homey. Jeff is definitely the best owner we’ve ever stayed with by far. He is very responsive and happy to share his home. Our kids played in the stream for hours. We were able to do many day trips to various locations. An absolutely wonderful stay!

Beautiful place and river

We had a wonderful stay. The beds were very comfortable. The river was wonderful to explore. The house was well set up for a great weekend, including the deck overlooking the river and a fire pit for smores. The dog area was especially appreciated. The owner was very responsive to questions and inquiries. We enjoyed hiking on Ferncroft and the Pizza Barn made delicious food. Definitely recommend this place.

Memorial Day Weekend 2021

Wonderful property! The house was very clean with fresh linens and ample comfortable beds. Kitchen is beautiful (updated since picture online) with ample and quality provisions. The showstopper of the house is the deck along the river. Our dogs loved the fenced in dog park that is accessible through deck. Despite the rain we had an enjoyable weekend. House has a big screen tv (which we couldn’t quite figure out the remotes) and lots of board games which we played and had a really fun time (better than watching tv!) Looking forward to a return visit...can’t imagine that deck in the ☀️!

The house was exactly as shown online. Jeff the owner answered all my questions promptly and provided a list of things to do in the area. The house was very clean and well stocked, as well as comfortable. The dog pen off the deck was perfect for our dogs . The river was beautiful and relaxing. Fantastic house, wonderful location for family getaway!

We had an awesome week at Camp Tamworth and will definitely return! Jeff was very helpful and hospitable, we felt right at home staying here with our children and dog. The house was very private, extremely comfortable and clean, the kitchen was fully stocked, and all linens and towels were supplied. We had coffee every morning on the deck overlooking the river, what a fantastic way to start the day! Perfect location to relax, and centrally located to many great places to explore. The location was great! It was right in the river!

We really enjoyed our stay! The kitchen was fully stocked. They supplied all linens. The beds were very comfortable. The place was clean. You could hear the river everyday from inside the house. The deck overlooks the river. The only thing I would have liked was an actual walkway / stairs to the river. A short walk down the river there are several beautiful spots with waterfalls. Very quiet! Felt relaxed the whole time. My brother and his wife visit for the day. He spotted a bear cub and a silver fox. If you like crows, which I do... they are in the local trees and you can hear their chatter daily. Love it! Thanks for a great experience!
