November Riverfront Retreat Near Estes Park and RMNP
PRIVATE RIVERFRONT CABIN NEAR ESTES PARK AND ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
Experience the quieter side of the Colorado Rockies from a private cabin directly on the Big Thompson River. Located just minutes from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, this peaceful riverside retreat is perfect for a November getaway, Thanksgiving in the mountains, romantic weekend, family vacation or refreshing workcation.
November is one of the most peaceful times to visit the Estes Park area. Summer crowds have faded, wildlife remains active and crisp mountain days invite you to slow down and explore. Spend the day visiting Rocky Mountain National Park or downtown Estes Park, then return to the cabin for a cozy evening beside the fireplace while the river flows just outside.
A TRUE RIVERFRONT ESCAPE
The Big Thompson River runs directly past the property, creating a relaxing setting surrounded by water, mountain scenery and fresh Colorado air.
Begin the morning with coffee overlooking the river. Watch for wildlife, take photographs along the water or bundle up with a warm drink on the spacious deck. In the evening, listen to the river beneath a sky filled with stars before heading inside to warm up beside the fireplace.
Private river access is located just steps from the cabin. When weather and river conditions allow, guests can enjoy fishing, birdwatching, wildlife viewing or simply spending a quiet afternoon beside the water.
WHY NOVEMBER IS A GREAT TIME TO VISIT
November offers a slower and more relaxing way to experience the Colorado mountains.
Fewer crowds in Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park Easier access to restaurants, shops and local attractions Crisp mountain air and the possibility of fresh snow Excellent opportunities to see elk and other wildlife Cozy evenings beside the fireplace A peaceful setting for Thanksgiving or a pre-holiday getaway
Weather can vary throughout the month, giving guests the opportunity to experience sunny mountain afternoons, snow-dusted scenery or both during the same visit.
COZY AND COMFORTABLE INSIDE
Large windows fill the cabin with natural light and showcase views of the river and surrounding landscape. After exploring the mountains, settle into the comfortable living area, enjoy the fireplace, stream a favorite movie, play games or plan the next day’s adventure.
The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare breakfast before heading into the park, enjoy a relaxed dinner at the cabin or cook a special Thanksgiving meal together.
Fast, reliable WiFi also makes the cabin a comfortable option for remote work and extended stays. Finish the workday, close the laptop and enjoy the river, fireplace and peaceful mountain surroundings.
THANKSGIVING BESIDE THE RIVER
Trade the usual holiday routine for a memorable Thanksgiving in the Colorado Rockies. Prepare your favorite dishes in the fully equipped kitchen, gather for a relaxing meal and spend the evening together beside the fireplace.
The cabin provides a warm and welcoming home base for families and couples who want to reconnect, enjoy the outdoors and celebrate without the usual distractions. Thanksgiving availability is limited, so guests planning a holiday stay are encouraged to reserve early.
MINUTES FROM ESTES PARK
Downtown Estes Park is just a short drive away and offers locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, galleries, boutiques and seasonal shopping.
Cooler months bring a more relaxed atmosphere, making it easier to explore town, enjoy a warm meal and browse local shops without the peak-season crowds. Elk and other wildlife are also commonly seen throughout the Estes Valley.
After a day in town, return to the privacy of the cabin and unwind to the sound of the Big Thompson River.
EXPLORE ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
Rocky Mountain National Park is open year-round and offers unforgettable scenery during the quieter months. Depending on weather and trail conditions, visitors can enjoy hiking, scenic drives, photography, wildlife viewing and snowshoeing.
Watch for elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep and other Colorado wildlife throughout the area. Some high-elevation roads and trails may be closed or limited during colder weather, so guests should review current park and road conditions before heading out.
FISHING ON THE BIG THOMPSON RIVER
Private river access is available directly from the property. When weather, river levels and seasonal conditions allow, anglers can enjoy fishing for brown and rainbow trout just steps from the cabin.
Guests are responsible for obtaining the appropriate Colorado fishing license and reviewing current fishing regulations and conditions.
PLAN A DECEMBER GETAWAY
December brings holiday charm to Estes Park, including decorated streets, seasonal shopping, local dining and the possibility of a beautiful snowy backdrop.
The cabin is a welcoming setting for a Christmas vacation, romantic winter escape or peaceful break before the new year. After a festive day in town, return to the fireplace and enjoy a quiet evening surrounded by river and mountain views.
PREPARE FOR MOUNTAIN WEATHER
Mountain weather can change quickly during November and December. Guests should pack warm layers, monitor forecasts and road conditions, and arrive prepared for winter driving. Snow and icy conditions are possible, and an appropriate vehicle is strongly recommended during winter weather.
YOUR NOVEMBER MOUNTAIN GETAWAY
Come for the private riverfront setting, cozy fireplace and convenient access to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Stay for the peaceful mornings, abundant wildlife, uncrowded adventures and quiet evenings beneath the Colorado stars.
Whether you are planning a romantic weekend, Thanksgiving getaway, family vacation, fishing trip or remote-work retreat, this cabin offers a comfortable place to slow down and experience one of the most peaceful seasons in the Rockies.

We were very comfortable in this cabin and really enjoyed our stay. We had a minor hiccup at check in, but the host was very responsive and rectified the situation quickly. The location was convenient to everything we had planned in Estes Park and beyond, and we enjoyed several good restaurants and of course, ice cream. The kitchen was well-stocked and my son enjoyed drinking milk and Dr. Pepper from the variety of margarita and wine glasses! If we return to the area, we would consider staying here again!

It made us smile to hear that your son got a kick out of the assortment of glassware! We try to stock the cabin with everything guests might need to feel at home.
Thank you again for choosing our cabin. We'd love to welcome you back anytime you're planning another mountain getaway!
Hosts were very responsive leading up to our booking. The property has an unusual, but charming layout. If you book this cabin, you will want to spend as much time as possible on the patio listening to the river. Great access to Estes Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park. Also not terribly far to get to Boulder or Fort Collins for those visiting CSU like we were.

Fantastic place that is nicely outside of town. Enjoyed the quiet. Overall place was clean and comfortable. Living room furniture is very nice. Only issues were lack of curtains throughout the property. I am weird when it comes to that so it may just be a me thing. Would recommend if you like to be outside of town and have access to river
Great location. Very peaceful. Close to everything but away from the business of the town. Loved the sounds of the river when we opened the windows in the living room. Definitely recommend this home.
This was a great home for our family. So spacious and the owner was great in responding quickly. This is a great home and location. Highly recommended!
The cabin was great. being a native to Colorado and having the ability to go to the mountains and get out of the city to a beautiful place was great. The cabin was clean and we all loved the porch over looking the Big Thompson River. My daughter and her friends really loved the cabin and enjoyed to celebrate her 17th Birthday.

We’re glad the cabin felt comfortable and clean, and that you loved the porch and views of the Big Thompson River. We would be delighted to host you again anytime!
This is a quirky but lovely home! The best equipped kitchen I have experienced at a rental. The only suggestion I have is to add some lighting to the bedroom upstairs - it is very dark! Danielle was a very responsive host. The location was very convenient for visiting Rocky Mtn. National Park. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Property was wonderful. It was located outside of town, so was extremely peaceful. It was maintained great and we never found a moment where we were needing anything. Owners were responsive. Cell phone service was hit and miss, but thats exactly what we were looking for. Very unique property, and we had our best fishing days right in front of the cabin!

It's great to know that the property’s unique charm and the fishing right out front helped make your trip memorable.

This cabin was great for our family. We all loved being on the river. There were two elk that hung out near our cabin. The cleaning crew did not clean before our stay, at no fault of the host. When we notified the host, they were quick to respond and had it cleaned quickly for us. Great host and great stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful and cozy stay! Great communication. Great accommodations. Great location. The kitchen was stocked with all necessities for cooking. The views are great and the home rests in a very peaceful setting. I loved sitting on the deck (and next to the open windows in the LR) to hear the sounds of the water.
All in all the stay was good. Minor things like coffee pot and dvd The bed in second bedroom is difficult for older folks to get in and out of. Loved being by river and it was close to Estes Park and RMNP. Appliances worked well Host responded to questions promptly.

We did not stay - the cleaning service did not show up and the cabin was not livable.
The host was an excellent communicator, and even volunteered to connect us with a fishing guide. The multi-level property is built into a hill right above the Big Thompson River, and there are stairs down to the river where you can fish for rainbow and brown trout from their property. Well equipped and nicely furnished.

We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay! We love our four season state, but fall is the most magical of all with the changing leaves and rushing river! We welcome you back anytime!
It was a very nice cabin right on the river. Being unfamiliar with the area, I did think that the house was going to be more remote than it actually was, and you can’t really see the river while sitting inside the house. (Both of these things the owner obviously cannot control). We did have some elk come into the yard and saw an otter while playing in the river, which was awesome! Overall a nice house and convenient to Estes Park and RMNP.

Meet Your Hosts: Danielle & Ben Witte
Hi! We're Danielle and Ben, Colorado natives who have always felt most at home in the mountains. We grew up skiing, hiking, camping, and exploring the places that make Colorado so special, and Estes Park has always held a special place in our hearts.
When we discovered this property on the Big Thompson River, we knew it was something extraordinary. The sound of the river, the incredible fishing, the abundant wildlife, and the peaceful setting made us fall in love instantly. It became the perfect place to unplug, reconnect, and spend quality time together as a family.
We built this cabin to reflect everything we love about mountain living. Whether you're sipping coffee on the deck as the river flows by, casting a fly into the water just steps from the cabin, exploring Rocky Mountain National Park, or simply enjoying a quiet evening under a sky full of stars, our hope is that you'll experience the same sense of peace and wonder that keeps bringing us back.
Hosting guests is something we genuinely enjoy because we know vacations create lifelong memories. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a family adventure, escaping for a romantic weekend, or simply looking for a quiet place to recharge, we're honored you've chosen our cabin.

Welcome to our little piece of Colorado—we're so glad you're here.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this special stretch of the Big Thompson River the very first time we visited. It offered everything we had been searching for—a peaceful riverfront setting, incredible mountain scenery, easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park, and a place where it truly feels possible to slow down and reconnect.
What makes this location so unique is the perfect balance of convenience and seclusion. You're only minutes from Estes Park, hiking trails, local restaurants, and some of Colorado's most iconic outdoor adventures, yet when you return to the cabin, the only sounds you'll hear are the river flowing past and the wildlife moving through the valley.
Every season brings something new to experience. Summer offers cool mountain mornings, excellent fly fishing, and endless hiking. Fall transforms the landscape with brilliant golden aspens while bugling elk echo through the valley. Throughout the year, it's common to spot elk, deer, wild turkeys, eagles, and other wildlife right from the property.
One of our favorite moments is enjoying coffee on the deck as the river flows by, watching trout rise in the water while the mountains wake up around us. It's a simple experience, but one that reminds us why we love spending time here.
Whether you're planning an outdoor adventure, a fly-fishing trip, a family vacation, or simply looking for a quiet place to unwind, we hope this special corner of Colorado helps you slow down, breathe deeply, and create memories you'll treasure long after your stay. We're grateful to share it with you and hope you'll love it as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
The Riverfront Setting That Makes This Cabin Truly Special
The first thing most guests notice isn't the cabin itself—it's the river. Perched along the Big Thompson River just minutes from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, this is the kind of place where the sound of rushing water instantly slows your pace and reminds you why you came to the mountains.
The spacious deck quickly becomes everyone's favorite place to be. Start your morning with coffee as the sun rises over the valley, spend the afternoon watching trout rise in the river or spotting wildlife along the shoreline, and end the day listening to the water beneath a sky filled with stars. It's the perfect setting to relax after hiking, fly fishing, or exploring Rocky Mountain National Park.
Nature surrounds you in every season. During the warmer months, you'll enjoy cool mountain mornings, fresh alpine air, colorful wildflowers, and frequent visits from hummingbirds, elk, deer, wild turkeys, and soaring eagles. As autumn arrives, golden aspens blanket the mountainsides while the famous elk rut fills the valley with the unforgettable sound of bugling elk. Winter brings a quieter beauty, with snow-covered pines, peaceful river views, and cozy evenings spent watching the snowfall from inside the cabin.
No matter the season, the river is always the centerpiece. Whether you're casting a fly into one of Colorado's premier trout streams, reading a book on the deck, sharing dinner outdoors with family, or simply listening to the water flow by, you'll find yourself slowing down and enjoying the simple moments that make a mountain vacation unforgettable.
This isn't just a beautiful view—it's an experience. One that keeps guests returning year after year to reconnect with nature, spend time with the people they love, and discover the peace that only a true Colorado riverfront retreat can provide.
