Absolutely beautiful!

The picturesque setting of the gite was ideal we were able to relax in lovely surroundings and explore the local sights. The gite itself was lovely and the family that runs that owns the business couldn't have been more friendly or helpful with our many questions of things to do and see. I would recommend this holiday venue to anybody and we will be returning in the not to distant future.

A great find, perfect for our family holiday!

The gites are lovely and full of character. They had everything we needed. The gites are in a perfect location to reach all the tourist attractions, but secluded enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. The owners made us feel so welcome and having them nearby was great when we needed a doctor and when we got lost on one of our trips! We are looking forward to our return trip next year, and thanks again for everything!!

fantastic early summer break

We had a great weeks break at Lavender Gite. The property was clean and well presented with everything we needed for our stay. The location is fantastic. It is off the beaten track so very quiet but within easy reach of the beaches and other local attractions. Our hosts were very friendly and hospitable, nothing was too much trouble. The children were made to feel really welcome and we could all fully relax and enjoy ourselves. In short it is a great gite in a great location with the perfect hosts.

Perfect peace and quiet!

An ideal place for a chilled-out holiday! Beautiful rural location, very quiet surroundings, charming property and lovely hosts who couldn't be more welcoming. Good base for cycling and walking, as well as visiting the sights such as the D-Day beaches and the rest of the stunning Normandy coastline. Shops and other facilities easily reached within a short drive. Highly recommended. :-)

5 days in December, 2010

I found my stay in the Rose Gite at Ferme de la Fleur to be very enjoyable. The decor is light and charming, and the accomodation was clean and well-aired. The kitchen included all the amenities we required, with a nice dining table. The bathroom was a good size, and included heating. The bedroom was large, with lovely finishing touches. The owners were extremely helpful whenever we needed anything. Overall I found my stay in this peaceful and idyllic part of Normandy to be a great experience, and I will be returning to stay again in 2011.

Orchid

This property was clean and recently decorated. The bedroom is well furnished with a comfortable bed. The kitchen was well stocked with all the usual facilities and is large enough to comfortably seat 4 at the table. The lounge is attractive with good seating and tv for dvd's. There is room to sit outside and the overall aspect is pleasing. The property is set in farmland but within easy travelling to attractive and interesting towns as well as the usual tourist attractions. The owner is very friendly and helpful and the it is a comfortable and relaxing place to be. I would certainly recommend this property.

Lavendar Gite - Gorges, Normandy

Myself, husband and two daughters stayed here for a week in August. Lavender gite was spacious, well equipped, comfortable and very quiet, being set away from main roads and very rural. Louise, Matt, Sarah and Paul worked hard to ensure we received a warm welcome and had everything we needed, including a much appreciated selection of essentials on arrival. We were able to relax after our journey with a cup of tea and make ourselves a bite to eat, without the need to find the local store. The surrounding area has much to do, with natural beauty and wildlife as well as historical towns and places of interest, all of which are quite easy to reach. Bayeux is a must for the tapestry and lovely Cathedral. D-day beaches and war graves were very moving, also easy to get to for a visit - plenty of museums to choose from on this subject too. The people of Normandy were friendly and helpful to my daughter practising her A-level french and the Boulangerie in Sainteny has truly lovely cakes, well worth a try. We had a really good time during our week at Lavender and have no hesitation recommending it as a clean and comfortable place to stay, with friendly and helpful owners who are willing to offer advice and visit hints and tips - if required.

Quiet get away

Excellent communication from the offset with the owners. information provided was clear and concise. On arrival a lovely welcome pack was provided. it really added a lovely touch to the start of the holiday. The family running the business were very friendly and approachable and nothing was too much bother for them. The accommodation is just as described, very clean, well maintained, and lots of little touches that add the homely feel such as good high quality bedding making a comfy nights sleeps. The only reasons this rating is good as oposed to excellent is the fact that we were overrun with ants for a couple of days but this being the case the owners did everything they could to deal with it effectively and quickly but it did tinge the holiday a little for us. The other reason is that the location is ideal if you want a quiet retreat holiday. You definately need a car to get around. Local village is nearby but we expected from the original website we booked from for it to have more facilities than it did and consequently were a little dissapointed as someone always had to drive on an evening out. the village is more like a hamlet and there is one very small shop with a small bar attached. The latter of which did not open in the evening. There were no restuarants within walking distance, however, quite late on in our holiday we discovered the owners prepared food on site if ordered in advance and I would definately recommend this particularly for the first night. The food was delicious, home cooked, plenitful, and very good value for money, all served to the door no washing up etc and served with a smile! Definately one not to miss! Overall we had a lovely week, there was plenty to do within an hour or two drive from the gite and we didn't manage to fit everything in. Bayeux, St Mount Michael are definately worth a trip out to. Lovely welcoming friendly family business good value for money.
