About the area
Iron River
Located in Iron River, this chalet is in a rural area. Ski Brule and George Young Golf Course are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Iron County Forest Preserve and Ottawa National Forest. Enjoy the area's slopes with skiing, and don't miss out on the ice skating and sledging.
We are a repeat guest at Edelweiss Haus because it’s clean, comfortable and has everything we need for a great stay. The location is great. The amenities are perfect for us. The bed is comfortable. There was even a room air conditioner that I never expected to need in October! We were grateful to find 2 fans in the closets when we arrived on an 80 day. Hot tub is pristine and private - with gorgeous scenery all around. Wifi worked great - and our phones were able to call out even though there was no Verizon cell service. We look forward to returning!
It was our 4th time staying here. We love the location, privacy and outdoor hot tub in the winter months! Owners are very accommodating and responsive.
The property was very clean, the hot tub was hot, and there were plenty of towels, linens, and household supplies!
We would definitely stay here again anytime we are in town!
Cute and cozy place. Can walk to Ski Brule if you want you’re so close. Hot tub was an added bonus. Having WiFi was nice being the service is spotty once you’re outside.
We had a lovely stay at the cozy ski chalet. It was perfect for our weekend getaway. The hot tub worked great. And the proximity to the ski slope was wonderful. Thank you!
This was a perfect place to use as a home base for a ski weekend. Clean, close to the hill and with a full kitchen…so much better than a hotel room in Iron River for our family of four.
We stayed 3 nights for our 24th Anniversary. Perfect location to access Ski Brulee and zip into Iron River for anything you may need. The cabin had a very well stocked kitchen. The Queen bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was private and truly the cherry on top! Highly recommend this property. Thanks for a great stay.
This is the third consecutive New Year's Eve that we've stayed in this cabin. Each time we discover something new and exciting in the area. We love the access to Ski Brule, the Porcupine Mountains, waterfalls, and state parks. The cabin is so cozy, and the hot tub is a perfect quiet place to wind down the days. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Edelweiss Haus. The hot tub and the surrounding land were outstanding. It was pretty quiet, this is on the “main road” but in the autumn there is very little traffic. The hot tub and deck are private and hidden from the road, and surrounded by beautiful trees - you’re basically in the woods, which is exactly what we wanted. We took quiet walks, and took lots of nature photos. The kitchen was clean and stocked with all the dishes, pots, and cooking essentials - we brought way more than we would have needed. DirecTV and internet were a great addition to the amenities, and there is a DVD player and big selection of movies available. Cell reception is nil, so we were grateful to have internet to connect. Bedrooms and bathroom were clean and cozy. There were even flannel sheets on the queen bed. The beds were firmer than we’re used to, so we didn’t sleep the best, but that’s always a risk when you sleep in any different bed. We actually went to the hot tub at 4am a couple mornings to admire the night sky that you just can’t see from the city. We were able to turn the jets off and be completely quiet. The only thing I wish there had been was a way to darken the bedrooms, as the curtains only covered the lower half of the windows. It’s not an issue if you don’t need a nap later :) This area is not far from Iron River, you can pick up pasties and they’re still hot when you arrive at the cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the price was fair, and we hope to go back again!
The home was perfect for our family! Alison and Brian were amazing with communication and the jacuzzi was the cherry on top. Everything you could think of was included in the house from family games, movies, to even towels just for the jacuzzi. One of our favorite things was sitting by the cozy fire in living room each night. So peaceful!
We love staying here! This was our third time. It’s a lovely private location that is still close enough to town (to run for pasties or other necessities). Our stay was quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was clean and we spent a lot of time there in both day and night. The view of the night sky from the hot tub is phenomenal. We didn’t use the fireplace, but did turn the heat on at night. The thermostats’ numbers were misleading and the first night we ended up too warm, but keeping them about 60 kept us comfortable. The kitchen had all the utensils and pans we needed and the coffee maker worked fine too. The bed was very comfortable, I slept very well and have been searching for a similar mattress topper for our bed! We had a very nice stay, and look forward to coming back.
Edelweiss is a charming chalet.
Accommodations were comfortable for our party of five.
Kids loved using the hot tub, one cool summer evening.
Love that Iron County repaved Brule Mtn Rd; had been the absolute worst road I had ever driven on prior to repair.
With cooler temperatures during stay, would have used campfire pit but
- was filled with water (can holes be added for drainage and reducing smoke?)
- no area seating (to seat 6 - 8)
Regards,
We loved this cozy cabin nestled into the pines! So darling!!! Hot tub was dreamy!!! Ideal location to be able to easily enjoy the ski hill!! We’ll be back!
This was our first trip to the U.P. The place was perfect for a our family of 4. Cozy, nice hot tub, close to the hill. Wi-Fi was spotty, but that’s to be expected up north. Overall great place to stay.
We’ve enjoyed the proximity to the ski hill and out door hot tub tucked in amongst the trees so much we have visited 3 times in winter. It’s a quaint cabin, always cleanly and easy to check in/out of. Only thing that would have made our stay better would have been a Packer playoff victory.
