About this property
The Apartment at Dark Run Retreat
About this space
Comfy one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the foyer, located on 5 secluded acres, 3 miles outside the town of Madison.
The space
Guests have their own private apartment with use of our 5 acre yard, hot tub, and pool in the summer (Memorial Day thru Labor Day). There is a studio below the apartment so we ask that you’re mindful of those guests if it’s booked. :-)
*As of 10/6/20, we will no longer be hosting pets*
Guest access
Apartment, hot tub, fire pit, pool in the summer (Memorial Day thru Labor Day), yard with trails to the creek. The apartment is private, but the grounds and amenities are shared with the studio guests and with our family/guests.
Other things to note
The state road does turn to gravel after the church, and you will have to cross a low water bridge, which does flood if we get about 2” of rain, so just drive slowly please! :-)
**This is our home, not a party pavilion! We invite YOU to come enjoy it, but we're not interested in hosting your extended family events!**

About the host
Hosted by Jen Lamb

I guess you could say I'm a true Madisonian, tracing my family back at least 6 generations in this county! I love traveling but I have no plans of ever moving!
Why they chose this property
Though I've lived in the county my entire life, I had no idea this house was even back here until I saw a real estate listing for it in about 2015. I wasn't in a position to buy it then, but I fell in love with it, and lucked out when it came back on the market in 2019, at which time I was ready to snatch it up! I love that it's very secluded, yet only 3 miles from town.
What makes this property unique
I may be a little biased, but to me, this property is our little piece of heaven. My boys have plenty of room to run and play, whether it be swinging in one of the tree swings, running thru the yard with the dog or playing in the creek, not to mention the pool in the summer! And I love the fact that it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere but we're only about a mile and a half from 7-11! According to my oldest son, we don't need to travel to vacation, we already live at a resort! :-) (Did I mention that he's also my homebody?!?!)
