About this property

Spectacular Mountain Views! Beautifully appointed. Pool. Hiking trails. Deck.

EXPERIENCE A WONDERFUL BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAIN VACATION ON A PRIVATE FARM! Delight in the bold views of the Blue Ridge Mountains while lounging on your private deck at the Carriage House on Fairhill Farm, a working farm of 142 acres. Stroll on farm or hike our private trails. Fish in private pond or in river. Enjoy pool. Delight in farm animals including our miniature horses.

Located 2 hours southwest of Washington, DC, 1 1/2 hours east of Richmond, VA and 25 minutes north of Charlottesville, VA.

Spring has sprung at Fairhill Farm Country Vacation Rentals and, yes, we are open for business. We have received a number of inquiries from folks that want to escape to the rural country side for fresh air, open space and stunning mountain views. Our two farms comprise nearly 300 acres fronting on the South River with private hiking trails, springs to explore and miniature horses to enjoy. Our three vacation rentals with fully equipped kitchens are at least 1/10 mile apart with a population density of about one person per 50 acres. Now that’s social distancing! We also use CDC procedures to clean, disinfect and prepare our vacation rentals for each guest’s arrival. The cottages are also self-check-in and our staff stringently practice social distancing with each other and with our guests. Our local grocery as well as drug stores are open and our restaurants are providing curbside pick-up and/or limiting dine-in to ten people. The Shenandoah National Park, Appalachian Trail and Skyline Drive are less than a 15-minute drive from our farms and the entrance fees have been waived. Finally, please know that our prices are at our normal rate. We find it morally and ethically reprehensible that some popular vacation spots at the beach or in the mountains have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled their rates. We will be happy to host you but regardless please be safe and follow all recommended guidelines as the nation works its way through the threat of this virus.

Fifteen minutes from The Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, The Appalachian Trail. Monticello, Montpelier, Ash Lawn and the University of Virginia and many more historical sites are just a short drive away--Luray Caverns, historic Williamsburg, Leesburg, Natural Bridge.

Warmly appointed with a mahogany bed, leather sofa and burgundy accents, the Carriage House is perfect for a comfortable and cozy romantic retreat, anniversary, weekend getaway, or wonderful extended vacation.

Spectacular views
I could not possibly have enjoyed my stay anymore! The views were beautiful and the hiking paths were astounding. My stay was during the time when the leaves were changing and falling. It was truly unbelievably beautiful! I visited the winery called Revelation in the Hebron Valley. The sunset was beautiful and the wine was delicious. The Blue Ridge Mountains were gorgeous and I also visited the Shanandoah river. I just couldn't get enough of the area and I can't wait to come back! Well done Alton!

Beautiful place!
We got there with no problem and the whole property presents beautifully. Especially being fall with the leaves turning. But, it truly would be a beautiful place at any time of year. Everything you could need is there for you. The host was extremely responsive and pleasant. It feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, but you can be in town in minutes, and in Charlottesville in just a few more. Great location. Would definitely recommend this property.

Relaxing and peaceful
An absolutely lovely place overlooking the Blue Ridge mountains. Quiet and well maintained. Comfortable bed. Property has 2 VERY friendly farm cats, so be aware if you are allergic. We love cats and wete happy to have their company, missing our own while away. Property uses well water which has a high iron odor, safe to drink and bathe in. Beautiful star-filled skies at night and close by to Shenandoah National Park. Farmer's Market on Saturday was also delightful. Overall an excellent experience. We will definitely return!

Gorgeous country retreat - relaxing and refreshing
The studio was the perfect size for 2, and was located on a beautiful, serene property. We enjoyed the quiet and views of the stars while also being close to nearby favorite activities and things to do in the Charlottesville surrounding areas. The pool was a highlight & it was fun to walk the trails on the property as well.
