The cabin was cozy, private, and clean. We enjoyed spending time inside, offline, and fishing in the nearby pond. It's a great home base for enjoying Shenandoah and near excellent hiking routes. It was a great stay.

Cozy and Welcoming Stay

The property is remote but check-in directions provided by the hosts were clear and easy to follow. The cabin was clean and had plenty of linens and towels, along with a reasonably well-stocked kitchenette. Overall, a lovely stay - note there is internet or cellphone service!

Two week stay

Cabin was great, was a little concerned about the road in but it wasn’t a problem. Location to park and hikes good, luray caverns, James Madison home also worth seeing. 5 deer out the back window on Saturday. Thanks for the new deck and steps. 😊. Only suggestion would be we had salt and no pepper and no charcoal for the grill. Beds are old and we ended up using two but all in all a fun cabin.

Exceeded Our Expectations

I don't know about sleeping 6 adults comfortably, but it was more than enough room for my girlfriend and I. The cabin is picturesque on the side of a hill with a pond below. The kitchen was perfect for my girlfriend who cooked dinner, me cooking breakfast, and wine from the nearby vineyard in front of the wood burning stove. We'd absolutely consider returning in the warmer months with the all the trees in the area. We'd recommend whiteoak canyon to the north and DuCard Winery nearby.

Peaceful Getaway

The cabin is clean and cozy. The balcony does face the pond, but couldn't see much of it because some small tree branches block the view. I would have liked to see more of the pond from the balcony. However, walk down to dock and get a gorgeous view of the pond. Caught 4 Bream off the dock as well. If like privacy, peace and quiet, this is the place to be.

Nice stay overall

Cozy cabin on a pond, close to Shenandoah and near wineries and restaurants. My husband and I had a lovely weekend with the dog. We followed the written instructions but the cabin was still hard to find. We had to call and get further instructions. And small details were lacking (like dish soap and hand soap were very low when we checked in.) Other than that, overall, I would recommend the experience for a rustic, quiet weekend.

Great place to unplug and unwind!

Our family of four spent a weekend here to refuel before a move across the country and our Soldier's upcoming deployment. It was a wonderfully peaceful location in a beautiful natural setting. My boys (11 and 15) scoured the surrounding area and enjoyed hiking, exploring, and fishing. We cooked out on the grill and roasted hot dogs and created s'mores at the fire pit. The cabin is so cute; quaint and cozy. Each boy claimed a futon couch and slept like babies each night. We enjoyed a fire in the indoor fireplace and had everything we needed to cook meals in the kitchen. The only thing that took away from the perfection of the stay (for me; my boys were not bothered) was a few insects. Stinkbugs inside the house and huge bumblebees on the balcony were a minor annoyance. We loved our stay. We left feeling rested, refreshed, and in awe of God's beautiful creation.

No key

Wasn’t able to access the property at check in. The remote location, while a draw for the peacefulness, proved a challenge in commiunicatimg with the owner. The key was not in the mailbox and had to drive out to get signal to call the owner. Owner said he would call back after speaking with the caretaker (I kept driving out just in case) and when I hadn’t heard back I reached out again and was told I could now go to the property. I was already almost half way back home so decided it wasn’t worth it (I was here to run trails in the late afternoon which now couldn’t happen so I’d rather be home with family). Suggested to the owner than we split the stay and give me a partial refund. He said VRBO wouldn’t do that (which was not accurate as I learned it is the owners discretion). Place was remote, looked like it would be quiet rustic stay but unfortunately a 4 PM check-in with no key is a bit frustrating.

The cabin was adorable, cozy, clean, and just what we were hoping for. No internet. No cable TV. Just the sounds of nature and the isolation we very much needed. I'd love to come back when it's colder and fire up the woodstove. The fishing was good early in the day. There were maps up of nearby hospitals, which I really appreciated, but also local street maps and guides. We went to an apple festival just up the street and it was delightful

Had a great trip to this beautiful area. Cabin was very nice & in a very secluded area -be aware driveway very narrow. Pond with nice dock & inner tubes…. but if fishing is important to you we did not have much luck & had several visitors who showed up during our stay that took over the dock to make things not so private. I definitely recommend the cabin for convenience to Skyline Drive & Charlottesville.
