THE CONDO
This River Bank Lodge one-bedroom condo was redesigned to include a full kitchen with a functionally superior new floor plan featuring a “U” shaped design. This one bedroom condo is managed by the owner and is perfect for a couple or a small family. It comfortably sleeps up to four adults plus with full-sized kitchen which you will save time and money for those who choose to stay in and enjoy this cozy condo. It is peaceful with all the amenities of home along with a spectacular and unhindered mountain view.
After spending some time in our place, we realized how much we disliked the original design due to an extremely inadequate walk-through kitchenette and a floor plan that the bathroom/Jacuzzi consumed way too much of the total living space. We know that many guests do not want to go out for every meal due to the time it takes and the expense so this past September we gutted the place out. We now have a beautifully equipped, fully-functional and well-designed kitchen that can be the social center for our guests to enjoy and entertain that merges seamlessly into the dining room area and living room.
Full floor to ceiling windows offer an incredible unobstructed view of mountains, skiers on their way down the slopes and wetlands that touch the building. There is no way a permit would be granted to build on this location today where the building touches the wetlands off the Snake River complete with beaver dams. We can see ducks, geese, beaver, fish and the occasional fox plus a moose was seen in September from our picture windows. The view from the living room, dining room, gives you the feeling you are in the middle of the wilderness except you have a fireplace, flat screen TV and the comforts of home to enjoy, including the full kitchen.
Sip champagne, wine or your favorite smoothie and relax. If it is near a full moon, spend a night sleeping in the living room by the fireplace looking out at the great outdoors. The photos from the living room you take home will have your friends thinking you took them from your tent but you do not have to tell them you were not camping out.
The common areas have had several recent upgrades to the interior and exterior of the building plus a new enlarged deck area on the rear of the building overlooking the wetlands. The condo lobby has a fireplace, seating space and a great view. This is an excellent spot to enjoy some down time or meet new friends. Our new, limited exercise room opened July, 2011. The water heating system provides plenty of available hot water. Hopefully the snow will be covering up our newly sealed/stripped parking lot. There is one parking space for each unit with a tag provided for your car. Parking is free on-site and additional free parking is available nearby, if needed.
We do not charge extra for cleaning fees, which many others tack on. We supply the initial paper products, soaps and some basic kitchen supplies. Our rates accurately identify exactly how much it will cost you. No hidden fees except there is no escaping the taxes levied by local and state government agencies, which is 5.5%. Free WiFi.
You can arrive any day of the week you want and the longer you stay, the lower the per-night rate, which we automatically have built-in discounts for longer visits. Ask about our 2-day Front Range Metro Guest Weekend special rate, which allows you to arrive on Friday afternoon and check out as late as 8 pm. Why spend Sunday packing the car and sitting in the return traffic when you can ski/board all day, fix dinner and then head home? Once you stay with us you automatically get 10% off for future visits (including our ocean view vacation rentals in Costa Rica)
This vacation rental is available year round and rented on a first come, first served basis for visits as short as two nights or up to three month long-term stays. If your plans are in the early stages, I will be glad to hold any dates you want which gives you time to complete your planning. If I get another inquiry for your dates – you will have first rights and 24 hours to make a decision at no obligation.

With the wetlands next to the Snake River, River Bank Lodge is one of those unique properties that you will never forget. View wildlife right from your couch, yet be close enough to shopping, restaurants, and ski slopes!
Looking to the west, you have a full view of the Ten-mile Range near Frisco and Dillon. You can easily walk to slopes; the gondola is only a three minute walk.

THE RESORT
River Bank Lodge is located on the tranquil side of River Run Village area of Keystone. A short 3-minute walk is all it takes to get the Keystone Gondola loading station. In half that time you are in the center of Keystone's River Run Village shopping, restaurants, and night life. For those of you addicted to Starbuck’s, don’t fret, there is one waiting for you in the middle of the village. River Run has everything you expect for a mountain village with lots of late night ambiance for those winter nights or cool summer evenings, including a community firepit. River Run Gondola and Summit Express lifts are an easy walk (150 yards) away. Walk across the street to the Haywood Café for a great breakfast, lunch or dinner menu to select from.

Attempted stay during spring break

My family and I checked in March 14 for a weeks stay. We checked in at 4 and at an at 5:30 found out they were closing the resort. So we left the next morning disappointed. We worked closely with the owner who was helpful in refunding our money. ALthough we stayed only 1 night the place was nice and the price was good. It was a easy walk to the gondola, shops and restaurants and in river run. We will try to to stay her in the future.

Christmas break

Property was easy to find. Communication with Dave was very easy, on arrival a couple of small issues, however spoke to the owner and we sorted them. Location is great for access to River Run Gondola, and small shoos in town and the free ice rink if you have your own skates. Property does have some dated appliances as stated in other comments, but they work and do the job so can't see what the fuss is about, (first world problems) some of the pans are bent which makes for cooking sometimes a challenge but again no big issue. We stayed as a couple and this was perfect for our needs, we didn’t used the sofa bed so can’t comment. I would say if four adults were staying long term it may be a bit tight. Only improvements I would recommend is a note before attending, we have used many rentals and this was the first with not on toilet roll, or one trash bag or dishwasher tablet, ( in all others there has been one to start you off) again nothing major just a heads up. There are a free washer and dryers in the communal area, if you bring your own washing liquid, as we did! My only major concern if I’m being totally honest, would be to sack the cleaning company used and get someone new, whoever did the clean before our stay did a half arsed job, so we had to do the best we could with limited supplies, which we did. Just not ideal after a 10 hour flight and 2 hour drive. They also couldn’t be bothered to replace light bulbs, again plenty of light just those little touches. (Dave & Deb I know it’s hard having rentals, but you could really do with a different company or giving your current ones a good firm kick in the right place) The property is well heated, controls for bedroom, bathroom and lounge area, dried all our ski clothing perfectly. With other comments about locks etc, don’t see the issue. Overall Great location, comfortable accommodation, good communication with the owners, great town of keystone. Tip plan ahead and get an epic pass or epic summit pass, would save $100’s in the long run.

Great ski trip

Great location to the Gondola. Everything was as described. You would be hard pressed to find another unit at this price in the same area. When we got there the key didn't work, but Dave was very responsive and got us another key in 15 minutes. Thanks.

Location is good, but needs work...

Here is my review. For the positives, location is good. Walking distance to shops, restaurant, and gondola. Big windows in living room gives great view of the mountain. Now for the negatives, the title to the place states that it was remodeled, but I'm not sure what that entails. Most everything in the place is dated. The sliding doors to the closet, right when you come in, slide, but come off the tracks. The hardware on the bedroom and bathroom doors are broken. The one on the bedroom door comes off. The one on the bathroom door locked itself and I had to use a credit card to open it. The kitchen appliances look to be pretty old. The door to the microwave has a 1 inch crack in it. The stools by the kitchen counter were unstable when sat on. The big windows made the whole living room kind of hot in the morning time. The TVs were pretty small, about 24 inch flat screens. No hot tub (which evident in the list of amenities). For our 6 night stay, the heater in the bedroom did not work, which made for pretty unpleasant and cold nights. We tried to resolve the issue by contacting the owner, but were unable to get someone out there to look at it without interrupting our vacation. Overall rental experience is negative.

Find another place to rent... This was very poorly run, many things were broken and not working.....

Sadly, this was not a good place to stay. I've rented many times with VRBO and this was the worst stay hands down. The location was nice, and being able to walk to the Gondola was a plus; however that is where the positive ends. The appliances are circa 1970 and the fridge was leaking inside, the oven wouldn't turn on the entire time we were there (we brought casseroles/brownies and cookies to bake). It was so hot in the afternoon due to the sun and the windows couldn't be opened in the main area. We let the owner know these issues upon the first evening. He was out of town and responded once; however never sent anyone to fix the appliances. The furniture, while older was fine, however, the very small t.v. fits into a cubby that makes it impossible to see from the couch or chairs b/c they are so much lower. He shared later there is a book behind the t.v. that was supposed to prop up the back of the t.v. to improve the angle, and screw sticking up in front of the t.v. to hopefully ensure it wouldn't fall. The owner states he has many rental properties but if this is how it is run I can't imagine he gets many repeat stays. I have owned in Summit county in the past and rented our property; I understand issues can come up; especially since I've been a previous owner; however, his offer of $50.00 back of a multi-night stay or a free night if we book his place again for 3 nights is ridiculous. I recommend you find another rental and enjoy your vacation!!

Very nice! Great Location!

We didn't want to leave! This condo was very nice and cozy, with a great kitchen and bath. We loved the view! It was fun watching the skiiers head down the slopes, and even more enjoyable at night, to see the slopes lit up for night skiing. Very beautiful! The location is excellent... only a minute walk to the resort shops, restaurants, and gondola. The owner was very easy to work with, and provided us with a lot of helpful information. We can't wait to go back and we won't bother looking for another place to stay.

nice condo at great price

So Nearly everything was good so I will just talk about the downsides because that is what I would like to know when I rent something. The only thing I didn't like was that after a long day on the slopes and you come back the condo the sun shines in the windows very strong. There are sunshades but they don't block nearly enough light when your eyes need rest. This makes the living area uncomfortable for a couple of hours if it is sunny. For the price this place is still a great deal. I would have given it 5 stars is the shades were more effective or if it would have been cloudy.

Comfortable and great location.

My wife and I came for a ski/snowboard holiday and were delighted with this condo. It is exactly as described, extensively renovated, clean and well maintained. Kitchen and bathroom are excellent. Has a great, peaceful view out of the large living room windows of mountains and wetlands. Well located away from any noise in the village, but just a minute's walk from the village center and a few minutes walk to the main River Run gondola. No need to drive unless you want to get to the bigger shops and a wider range of restaurants. Parking is just outside the condo and very convenient. The owners were a pleasure to deal with. We particularly enjoyed the nighttime gondola ride up to the (forget the exact name) Swiss Chalet fondue restaurant. A little pricey, but great with a group of friends. Also went to the really excellent but very pricey Skitip Lodge out to the west of the village. We'd recommend this for couples, and couples with a child. We would happily stay again.

When we are not living at our home across the highway from our River Bank Lodge condo and enjoying all that Keystone and Summit County have to offer, we are spending time at our ski condo in Alyeska Ski Resort in Alaska. Currently our focus is the RE/MAX Real Estate business we own along the Southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, where we also own several vacation rental properties, which you are welcome to visit!
Our interests includes traveling, flying our small airplane around, snow-skiing, waterskiing, keeping the freezers full of Alaskan red salmon and just living an active life.

Why they chose this property

The best kept secret of the Summit County region of the Rocky Mountains is it being a great summer escape from the heat of the lowlands and not a lot of people to contend with. In addition to the beginning of the bike path just outside our front door that connects to hundreds of miles of places to hike, run or bike. There are unlimited back-country hiking and skiing opportunities including several nearby 14,000+ ft mountains you can climb. There are many activities in the surrounding area to augment your summer vacation experience including Lake Dillon, voted as one of the top non-ocean sailing spots in the world or merely enjoy fresh mountain air in any direction you want to go. Be sure to get a copy each day of the Summit County News and clip those 2 for 1 offers for dinner and much more (not a lot in the Winter). Check out the many summer weekend festivals.
If you are getting too much of the great outdoors, then shopping opportunities await you at the factory outlet mall in nearby Dillon. With many stores to choose from, it is hard to believe you are in the middle of the Rocky Mountains, although you can fly fish right in the middle of all the shops.

What makes this property unique

Keystone features three mountains and more, so no matter what your skill level is, there are over 120 trails and 20 lifts to take you from casual skiing to challenging terrains set up to compliment your abilities. Plus cat skiing is available to access the snow above the lifts. Keystone also boasts one of the most exciting opportunities for night skiing available in Colorado. Beyond the world class ski and snowboard adventures, Keystone offers the largest selection of outdoor activities that include ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, snowmobiling and scenic gondola or horse-drawn carriage rides. Alpine, cross-country & snowboard equipment; skates, snowshoe rentals are available; as well as lessons and lift tickets within River Run. And that just describes the winter; summer offers a whole new set of activities to enjoy.
We came here to ski, so staying near the gondola and village center and not in Dillon, Silverthorne or Frisco where you have to get in your car to go skiing seems silly. Forget about the car and enjoy being surrounded by Keystone. If you like variety, there are free shuttle buses to Arapaho Basin, Breckenridge and other parts of Keystone resort. We are centrally located for all types of skiing, tubing, hiking, mountain biking and biking, white-water rafting and sailing or boating on Lake Dillon.
For our summer guests that like to hike and bike, the scenic riverside bike path leading to Dillon, Frisco, Breckenridge, Vail and beyond, begins right outside our door. For those more inclined to start out uphill, we are just off the highway at the base of Loveland Pass or the less steep Montezuma Road. You will find mountain bike rentals within River Run. For summertime hikes and runs we like to go up the snowcat roads on Keystone Mountain for sunset and then ride the gondola back down or hike back. Enjoy the two beautiful golf courses just down the road. Horseback riding is available in Keystone at Soda Creek Stables.
