The house is very old but nicely updated. The kitchen was well equipped and everything went smoothly. We spent a lot of time in the backyard and pool. Such a nice pool!!
Lovely stay at this cottage in Niagara on the Lake. Spacious bedrooms, dining and seating areas, all nicely decorated. A well-equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Clear instruction's for guests. Beautiful big pool with plenty of comfortable outdoor seating for everyone. We hope to return for another stay next summer.
We stayed with family and we had enough space for everyone. The location was great being near town and close to wineries and not too far from the Falls.
Lovely home with plenty of room for 6+ adults. Fantastic location, near most NOTL shopping and attractions.
Great hosts, easy, clear instuctions fot house, check-in and check-out!
Excellent property for a group of friends to connect and relax.
Well-equipped kitchen, round dining table that seats all, comfy beds, 4 bathrooms... all the mod cons we need
We had a lovely week in NOTL with the Homestead as our home base. Our daughter attended a day camp at Shaw Festival, which was walking distance each AM/PM. The neighbourhood is gorgeous and quiet. The home itself is very comfortable and spacious with good spaces for conversation and dinner as well as large bedrooms that made everyone happy. Pool and pool table were added bonuses as were the bikes available in the garage. Check-in and check-out were very convenient. We had zero issues the entire week as there are clear instructions provided in the "house book" provided by the owner. Well worth it all around.
We spent a long weekend at the Homestead with our grown children. It was absolutely perfect. We had trouble operating the tv and Bill came right over. House was well appointed and clean - just as the listing described it. It is 1.1 miles from city center making for a very pleasant walk each day.
We are a family of nine, with ages ranging from a one year-old to grandparents in their late 70s. About half the family live in Calgary and the another half live in the GTA. So we try to get together for a week in the summer. this year it was in NOL and the Homestead proved to be a perfect size for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful house with its private garden and pool. The younger ones made great use of the bicycles and we all enjoyed a game of pool quite regularly.
This home was perfect for our family! The bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely! The kitchen was equipped with everything we have at home. The dining table was beautiful for sharing a meal together.
The outside area was amazing with a pool, Adirondack chairs and a table with an umbrella. Downstairs had a very nice pool table that we loved. We truly felt like we were home! It was so nice to walk into town and leave the car parked most of the time! The communication between Mr. Daly was always informative and quick. It was truly an incredible two weeks.
The house was very comfortable for the 9 of us, we were 4 couples with one single so it was hard deciding which couple got the two twin beds. Outside from that the house was well stocked and it a very nice neighbourhood. We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner here and had everything we needed! I will say the owner's should update some of their photos because the house actually looks a lot better in person!
Nice house, quiet location. The "no music in backyard" would have been nice to know prior to booking. Not that we wanted to party but music goes well with a beautiful backyard and cold drinks.Pics of pool room were a little deceiving, made it seem far bigger than it was.Rooms and bathrooms were all sizable with nice beds. Good location. Cheap Uber or a 15 minute walk to main city centre.Large kitchen and dining room for evening activities. The front porch area has spots of rot. I nearly fell through the handrail. Would stay again.

This old home is in a great quiet location. Easy walk to river trails, short drive to lovely shopping and dining area in NOTL. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms have been updated. The pool area was nice. The 2nd king bedroom is in the basement, dark and damp smelling. That was a disappointment. The upstairs is nice and light but we were in the basement. The kitchen is not nice. Plates all chipped, mismatched silverware, counters, floor need upgrade. The large brown couch took up all the space in the small living room. We chose to leave a day early. Curtains and windows need a good cleaning.
Return visit to this thoroughly renovated classic NOTL home. Beautiful neighborhood walking distance to center of town. A few details need attention, but overall a great property that delivers what is presented on website.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Homestead Cottage in Niagara-on-the-Lake! The house is elegant, with high end finishes. Even though it said there would be only 4 bikes available (there were 6 of us total), the owner kindly provided 2 more for us without our even asking! The pool is divine, though it should be noted that it has no lights. That combined with the town-wide noise ordinance at 10pm meant really no night swims. The owner was easy to get a hold of, and he responded very quickly to my messages. We would've stayed longer if we could have, and I definitely would stay there again.
This is a lovely property and the pool was a blessing during the heat wave. Cousins ages 8-14 were able to have a great time together! It is farther from town than we had anticipated- a good 1/2 hour walk but through beautiful, quiet neighbourhoods. Don’t miss the public garden owned by Pillar and Post, which is about 10 minutes walk away. We enjoyed the small playground just a 5 minute walk away and played pickleball on the tennis courts there. Thursday night fish fry at The Legion meant no one had to cook that night. Excellent bbq and the beds were all very comfortable. The pool was so wonderful. The house is very well outfitted with supplies but could use a bit of a refresh and some attention to the cleanliness of the kitchen would move it up to 5 stars. The owner was nearby and responded quickly to any requests, but some household rules were not shared until the last minute. We would not hesitate to book again!

Why they chose this property
We bought the house as a weekend and week long getaway for our family. As we were setting it up, we decided to outfit it in a way that guests can easily be accommodated and not feel like they are intruding in someone else's house. From the comments of our guests, they feel that the house is a great setup with the most comfortable beds they've ever experienced.
What makes this property unique
The house has a lot of space and offers a great, relaxing atmosphere that everyone seems to enjoy.
