About this property
Outstanding Oceanfront Log Home near Acadia National Park
A Message to Our Valued Renters:
We’re sure that you are experiencing more stress than you would like in these uncertain times. A great spot to just relax and enjoy the view. Our renters agree that the photographs don't do it justice. A large great room has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay, and has a stone fireplace so you can watch the sunset or sit by the fire. The kitchen is very well appointed and includes just about everything the chef desires except the food. There is a full laundry room with a washer and a dryer. No need to waste hours at the laundromat. The rec room includes a ping pong table, games, video tapes, DVDs, and satellite TV as well as a cozy stone fireplace and a seating area to relax and enjoy the fire or the spectacular view of Frenchman Bay. The children's bedroom is furnished with a full/twin bunk bed, a twin size bed, and a Pack n Play. In addition there are two beautifully furnished bedrooms with queen-size beds. There is a queen size sofa bed in the great room, another in the rec room, and two comfortable inflatable beds which each sleep two adults.
The home is located about 35 minutes from Bar Harbor, the hub of activities on Mount Desert Island and gateway to Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor offers dozens of restaurants and shops and also kayak and bike rentals.
Hikers who prefer less crowded trails will find that nearby Black Mountain and Schoodic Mountain offer gorgeous panoramic vistas of lakes, ponds, Frenchman Bay, and the Porcupine Islands without the large numbers of hikers found on the better known trails of Acadia.
Winter Harbor, just 5 minutes away, offers galleries, shops and dining, all located in a quaint lobster fishing village with a picturesque town harbor and dock. A passenger ferry runs numerous trips daily from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor. Lobster pounds abound, and two are located within a couple of miles of the house. Swim and fish at nearby Jones Pond or Donnell Pond at the foot of Schoodic Mountain. Kayaks can be rented in nearby Birch Harbor and kayak tours can also be arranged.
The entrance to the Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park is a few minutes from the house by car or bike, and is a beautiful 'secret' spot which is visited by only a few of the thousands of visitors to Acadia.

Wonderful Great Room and amazing views! A calm and cozy place for our group of 7. Would recommend! Communication with the Host/Property Manager was also fantastic!
House was set up excellent and had everything we needed to cook meals at the house. There were great views of the sunset over the water. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house if you’re in the area.
Lovely home in a private coastal area of Maine. The home is well stocked with all the necessary equipment. Just come and relax away from the crowds in Bar Harbor.
Amazing property! The pictures are as advertised but it’s more amazing in person. Great views and very peaceful. Great location to stay outside of Bar Harbor (about 45 minutes by car) but 10 minutes away from Schoodic Point entrance (a must see). The owner was great to work with, very responsive, and provided great recommendations on things to do. This is a must rent for families or anyone looking to visit Acadia. We will definitely rent this house again.
Beautiful house, perfect location. Short ride to Winter Harbor and Schoodic Point, the quieter side of Acadia. This is a second year staying here and absolutely love this area! Coffee on the deck facing Frenchman's Bay is incredible. After a long day of activity, bike riding or sailing, it was a comfortable place to end the day, preparing for the next. Washer & dryer make packing easy.
The house has a beautiful view and is spotlessly clean and in a quiet wooded location. It was our home base for day trips up the Bold Coast. A perfect choice.
We so enjoyed our stay here. My favorite times were down by the water each morning and evening looking for sea glass and enjoying the views. We enjoyed a fire in the fire place on the cool nights. Such a beautiful place and little community.
We had an amazing stay. The most stunning view from this large cozy log home. Loved sipping coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings by the beautiful wood burning fireplaces. Perfect winter escape. Rich was a wonderful host.
House was immaculately clean and impressively spacious. The photos do not do it justice. The view was beautiful, and relaxing out on the deck during mornings and evenings was absolutely sublime. The beach down below at low tide was very enjoyable to explore. Excellent location for visiting the Acadia Schoodic side of the park--minutes away. Ferry to Bar Harbor was great too.
Loved our stay! Amazing frontage, beautiful home and very kind and professional host. Staying here made for a very memorable vacation with our young children. Thank you for sharing your place with us!
The house was wonderful. Very a huge living room with soaring ceilings and a great view of the ocean. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and baking with spices and plenty of mixing bowls, lobster pot, cookie sheets. Beds and couches were very comfortable and seem relatively new.
This cabin was perfect for my family vacation. It was cozy and stocked with all essential items. The views were absolutely spectacular! We had a minor concern upon check in and the host was very responsive and efficient in helping us. I would highly recommend this gorgeous cabin and we will definitely stay here again.
Our whole trip was fantastic, but I really feel like this property was a big reason that the trip was so special! The private beach was amazing and provided hours of entertainment for all to enjoy! The views were fantastic and overall just a clean well maintained house! Highly recommend!
What a beautiful property! We had a wonderful time staying here and waking up to the gorgeous views every single day was so relaxing. There is so much room in this house and we can’t believe how much we enjoyed the ping pong table. We found new skills we didn’t know we had!We loved being away from the Bar Harbor and the crowds yet it was an easy hour drive away. But within 10 minutes of the cabin there are great restaurants, a grocery store and some fun shops. Visit Acadia NP that’s on this side and there are great trails to be had. NO CROWDS!The cabin itself is fully stocked with every pot, pan, spices that you could need. You will need to bring your own shampoo and paper towels but that’s about it! Just grab a cocktail and sit on the wonderful deck overlooking the water. Would definitely stay here again. A week wasn’t long enough!
What a fabulous vacation we had at this beautiful waterfront property! The house was fully appointed with anything and everything you could possibly need to make your vacation comfortable and enjoyable.
This house was perfect for my family travelling with my parents. Beautiful scenery and very quiet. It is close to the Schoodic Acadia park. The only downside was that it was an hour away from the main Accadia park by car. The hosts were great and we definitely enjoyed our time there!
