About this property
Casa Pura Vida: 3BR Creekside Home in Central Manuel Antonio w/lots of Wildlife!
There’s no home so full of life as Casa Pura Vida, in Valle Pura Vida, Manuel Antonio. ‘Pura Vida’ translates to ‘pure life’—Costa Rica’s veritable slogan—and thus this 3-bedroom charming home is literally the ‘House of Pure Life, in the Valley of Pure Life’.
And it lives up to its name. Located along a quaint rainforest creek, it is surrounded by nature. The quiet residential neighborhood is known for its abundance of wildlife—monkeys, sloths, scarlet macaws, toucans, blue morphos, green iguanas, and many other animals are common sights here. Wake up to the sounds of the howler monkeys in the treetops, or the scarlet macaws flying overhead like ancient dinosaurs.
Despite being so surrounded by nature the home is also very central—right in the middle of Manuel Antonio, and no more than 10 minutes from the main beach, national park, Quepos and Pez Vela marina. There’s a bus stop just a flat 5-minute walk away. For hikers—you can hike to a couple of local beaches or a waterfall in about 45 minutes.
The home itself is the perfect Costa Rican getaway. There is an electric gate and parking for 2 vehicles. There’s a great pool, terrace, rancho and BBQ in the front. Entering the home one is in the comfy living area, which communicates directly to the kitchen and downstairs bedroom. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and AC, and is conveniently on the same level as the living area, pool area and parking. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with king beds, bathrooms and a shared balcony.
The kitchen has everything you need to feel at home, and the pool is a great place for a post-activity barbecue. Casa Pura Vida appeals to nature lovers and families, couples and friends alike who are looking for a quiet area and central base to explore Manuel Antonio.

We booked this having been in the area 20 years ago. This property was awesome, well cared for, had all kinds of wildlife including Macaws nesting overhead. The pool was perfect and the area safe and quiet. Venassa, as part of the free concierge service, booked all our excursions, helped us find a local chef, and was available to help with anything. We even had groceries delivered to the property before we arrived. We would highly recommend this property and the area around Quepos for your Costa Rica stay
The hvilla was terrific. We had a little trouble finding it. Neither Google maps nor Waze accurately bring you to the villa. We had a small hiccup with check-in, but the housekeeper was working at the property next door and she was able to get us in. The only other issue was the description said there was a washer and dryer but they are not functional. We were allowed to use the laundry next door which worked out fine. We enjoyed our time there and the villa is welled equipped and in a central location. We would definitely stay there again!
My wife and I started Manuel Antonio Rental Properties in 2012 after several years working in real estate. She is from Costa Rica and I am from Colorado, and we've been living here in Manuel Antonio for over 20 years. It's a great place to bring up a family!
Why they chose this property
Ironically, we have lived in three homes in this little cul-de-sac. We love it! It's very central and convenient when it comes to getting to the beach we're going to Quepos for groceries and other things. It's quiet and there's lots of wildlife. It's a real hidden gym!
What makes this property unique
There are so few properties in Manuel Antonio that can say they have a proper creek along one boundary. The surrounding rainforest brings lots of animals and it's far enough of the main road to be very tranquil. It's also a very safe area.
