This place is beautiful. We loved every moment of the stay, especially drinking coffee in the morning watching the sunrise over the field. Communication with the owner was exceptional as well.

My family stayed at Shelli’s home for 2 days. You can tell that she put work into upgrading the property because it was beautifully decorated and welcoming. The house was clean and had the amenities we needed. Checking in was easy! And Shelli was accommodating on allowing an early check-in and later check-out. We loved sitting outside watching the sunrise and sunset! The only issue during our stay was the bedrooms were hotter than what we would have at home, granted we stayed during a week of extreme heat advisory. With the rooms being warmer , it was not unbearable and thankfully, there were fans available, which helped at night. Otherwise, we loved our stay and definitely recommend the property! We will definitely stay again!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the home, the peaceful sunrises and sunsets, and that the early check-in and late check-out helped make your stay even more enjoyable. We also really appreciate your feedback about the bedroom temperatures. During the recent extreme heat, we noticed the same concern and immediately looked into ways to improve it. We actually had additional attic insulation installed this evening to help the home stay much cooler during periods of extreme heat. We're hopeful this will solve the issue and ensure future guests are comfortable no matter the weather. Thank you again for staying with us and for recommending our home. We'd love to host you and your family again in the future!

Great stay

Beautiful property on a quiet dead end road. I was in town for work and the house was perfect. I was working nights and still slept wonderfully. Very comfortable bed and blackout curtains. I hope it’s available again when I’m back in town.

Woodland Setting

This house is located on a beautiful woodland property. The accommodations were extremely clean and comfortable. The appliances were plentiful and up-to-date including the many Amazon Echo Dots! If you are looking for a quiet, clean and very comfortable retreat, you will truly love this property!

Charming home in lovely rural setting

This place is a gem! It's a beautiful lovingly and completely newly remodeled 3 BR home that is in a serene rural setting with acres of green to surround you. Yet, it's just under 15 minutes to Gastonia and under 10 minutes to a fabulous humungous grocery store and other conveniences. There's also a lovely family run farm store very close by for locally grown produce and fruits as well as other home baked goods. The owners were superb with communications and set it up for me to check in early because of nasty weather patterns. The pictures don't fully do the place justice, I'd say it's even nicer that the pictures suggest. I stayed here for just about 2 weeks and I'd definitely be back!

This farm has been in our family for over 60 years—and trust us, it’s seen its fair share of muddy boots, belly laughs, and homemade pie. We all carry cherished memories of time spent here with our Grandpa Dooley and Grandma Vivian (though Grandpa always called her “Boots,” and somehow, it stuck better than her real name).

Things have certainly changed over the years—tractors got fancier, and so did the bugs—but the heart of this place remains the same. It’s still our little slice of peace, full of love, laughter, and the spirit of two amazing people.

We feel incredibly blessed to now share this special place with our friends, our family, and with you. So kick off your shoes (or keep 'em on, if the chickens are loose ), and make yourself at home.

Why they chose this property

Grandpa and Grandma chose this neighborhood themselves, and it’s safe to say they picked a good one—because they pretty much became local legends here in Stanley. If you ever asked around, people didn’t just know them—they smiled when they talked about them.

Grandpa’s big dream was to raise champion horses, and he poured his heart into building a full, thriving farm. And it wasn’t just about the animals—he made this place a hub for the whole community. Grandpa hosted Father/son camping trips, company picnics. If the town needed a gathering spot, Grandpa was already out back setting up tables and making it fun for the entire family.

He even made the newspaper more times than we can count—not just for his community work, but also for growing a massive 139-pound pumpkin. That thing was practically its own zip code.

We’re proud of the roots here, and grateful every day for the legacy they built with love, hard work, and a whole lot of heart.

What makes this property unique

There’s just something about the peaceful beauty of the farm—it really is our little slice of heaven tucked away in North Carolina. Even though we don’t get to be there as often as we’d like (real life in Michigan and Tennessee tends to keep us on our toes), we dream of the day we can slow down and soak up more of what we lovingly call “God’s country.”

Every time we visit, it’s like taking a deep breath we didn’t even realize we needed. The quiet, the fresh air, the slower pace—it’s a kind of peace that’s hard to come by in the hustle of everyday life.

We hope you feel that same calm and joy when you're here. Whether you're rocking on the porch, walking the fields, or just watching the clouds do their thing—we truly hope it feels a little like home.
