**Inside the Cabin
The open-concept main level features:
- Full kitchen, stocked with all the essentials, from cookware to coffee makers (Keurig & drip) and basic pantry staples.
- Live-edge dining table with seating for four, perfect for meals or game nights.
- A cozy living area with a leather sofa and walls of windows framing the serene landscape.
- Half bath leading to a seasonal outdoor shower, offering a refreshing way to connect with nature.
- Propane grill just outside for effortless outdoor cooking.
Upstairs, the two-bedroom layout offers a peaceful retreat:
- Primary suite: A king-size bed with hotel-quality linens, high wood-beamed ceilings, walls of windows, a sitting area, and a Roku TV (the only TV in the cabin).
- Second bedroom: A queen-size bed with hotel-quality linens and natural light.
- Full bathroom with heated tile floors, dual sinks, and a walk-in rainfall shower stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
- Linens, towels, paper products, and basic supplies provided – we stock enough for a long weekend.
**Things to Know Before You Book
- No window coverings in the cabin – wake up with natural light and fall asleep under the stars.
- The hot tub is drained between stays, so it may take until evening to fully reheat.
- No A/C – the cool mountain air keeps things comfortable, but summer afternoons can get warm.
- Rural location – expect a 30-35 minute drive to town for supplies, restaurants, and hiking trails.
- No TV in the main living area—just the one in the primary bedroom.
- Bring your own firewood please. There is some on sight you're welcome to use but please contribute a bundle so it lasts throughout the season.
- Sound carries between floors—great for cozy conversations, but keep in mind for groups.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, design-forward retreat surrounded by nature, The Steel Nest is calling.
*** Winter in the mountains can bring snow and ice. Please ensure you have a vehicle that can handle these road conditions when booking during cooler months. Many people head to the area to experience these conditions so unfortunately we cannot offer a refund due to weather.
Hot tub use is at your own risk. Guests must follow safety guidelines, including no unattended children, no glass containers, and no use while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
To re-iterate some of the details you should know to make sure the cabin is a good fit:
- There is no TV in the living area/downstairs.
- There are no window coverings.
- We drain the hot tub between stays so it may take until the evening of your first night for the temperature to return to it's normal ~102 degree range.
- The location is very rural.
- There is no air conditioning in the cabin.
