A genuine 10/10 experience! An absolutely hidden gem. I would recommend arriving in day light hours if possible, since the drive is dark and steep otherwise. Couldn’t have had a better stay - will definitely book again!
The vrbo was very clean. The kitchen had all the pans/dishes you will need to prepare a meal. The outdoors was peaceful. It was beautiful in the main bedroom to wake up and see the peaks of sun coming through the trees.
What a beautiful property! Peaceful, secluded and relaxing. We got there at the same time as the rain that stayed for the whole weekend, but even that didn't dampen the charm here. It was well worth the drive to wake up in what feels like a luxurious tree house. We hope to return sometime with more time to explore! Alison is a wonderful and very responsive host and answered our questions quickly (and without seeming to mind that they were silly ones! )
Secluded, clean and comfortable beds absolutely loved the place I wish my stay could have been longer. Hot tub was very clean, kitchen fully stocked with kitchen essentials and pantry items. I will be staying again in the future i would Definitely recommend if you are looking for peace and quiet.
Everything about this listing was fabulous from the beginning to the end of our three night stay! Such a wonderful, peaceful place surrounded by trees and singing birds. The cabin was comfortable and immaculate. The hot tub and outdoor fireplace were enjoyed each evening....so relaxing! The kitchen was well fitted out with everything we needed to prepare our meals. Our host Allison was very responsive and prepared us well for our stay. It was a convenient place to meet our sister and brother in law, so we definitely plan to try and return. Thank you Allison for sharing your lovely home with us!
One word to describe this house: WOW! Exactly as described. Extremely secluded home with tons of character. Very clean and had everything we needed. Starlink connection was excellent and I was able to see my therapy clients virtually with absolutely no problem while my husband worked downstairs. While you don't technically need AWD or FWD in the summer, it worked out perfectly that I had just bought a new car because my previous one would have had trouble with the driveway as it is better to have a higher clearance and a car that can handle more ruggedness. Alison was very responsive; answering all questions or concerns I had within an hour. No complaints and highly recommend.
This was the perfect cabin for a much-needed weekend away! It was so secluded and so quiet! The heated floors made the whole cabin feel like we were wrapped in a cocoon. Perfect for a cold winter weekend! The cabin is as beautiful as the surrounding forest. The host was lovely as well. We loved it and can't wait to come back!
Our stay was amazing. The cabin was everything it was advertised to be and Alison ensure we had everything we needed to have a great weekend away. We’ll definitely be staying here again.
Fantastic cabin! Very clean when we arrived and truely private, no neighbors in sight. The worst thing I could find was a light out above the grill. My wife will definitely be back to this cabin.
What a wonderful and amazing house in an even more amazing location! If you are looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature this is definitely the place to be.
This is a hidden gem! We did not want to leave! The privacy and the sounds of nature made this place one we will continue returning to. The host was very kind and responsive. Thank you for a great time!
Across many different vacation home rentals we have experienced over the years, perhaps none have provided my wife and I the peace and joy that Alison’s beautiful cabin has. The fact that this was our fifth (?) stay confirms our endorsement of this cabin. I understand that this home was designed by a Charlotte architect and those thoughtful and quality details are all around you. The cabin exudes a stylish comfort and warmth and the secluded location and hot tub make for a serene setting. For the self-sufficient traveler who enjoys not seeing neighbors, cooking a great meal and enjoying a nice glass of wine by an outdoor fireplace in a home with elevated design and details all around you, you have found your next vacation home rental. Also, Alison ranks as an all-time favorite and responsive host with great local knowledge and we look forward to our next (6th?) visit.
We love this property! Spend the day visiting and hiking at Mount Rogers and the evening relaxing in the hot tub. If you want to unplug and unwind, I highly recommend visiting the Steel Nest!
