About this property
Ocean View, a 2 BR cottage on Bailey Island
Modern, sunny cottage with sparkling open ocean views and lovely sunrises. Enjoy coffee and beverages on the deck while watching the lobsterman pull their traps, the sailors tacking to and fro and the varied birds diving for their breakfast. Try your hand at fishing for the plentiful striped bass down on the shoreline. Locally, you have access to seafood restaurants, gift shops, kayaks, hiking trails, sailing and boating excursions, and sandy Cedar Beach. Every turn offers beautiful photo opportunities and fresh sea air. After dinner take a two-minute walk to the other side of the island to witness breathtaking sunsets. Shoreline access via a quiet path steps from the deck. A car is recommended - the island is accessible via bridges. Bailey Island is a 25-minute scenic drive from Brunswick.

About the host
Hosted by DAVID A JOHNSON

Family owned cottages for 40 plus years. When we spend time at our cottages, we enjoy the peace and quiet after busy work weeks. Nature, fresh air and ocean are all intoxicating and revitalizing. We enjoy hiking, boating and indoor/outdoor family games. We are fortunate to have fantastic chefs in our family so we spend a lot of time grilling and eating. We take treks into Brunswick to the museums, cute shops and breweries. Up the coast in Bath, there are antique stores, the Maine Maritime Museum, and access to Popham Beach. The Mid Coast Botanical Gardens, more seafood and our favorite Monhegan Island are a little ways beyond that.
