Comfortable Outdoor Dining for 8 on the patio beside a Weber charcoal grill – an iron chiminea, lounge & private seating area hidden by tall pampas grasses under a willow tree. The private, 1000 sq. foot organic garden in back and side yard. (Some insects are to be expected. Mosquito lamps are in both areas and spray is under the powder room sink.)
S. Carroll St is not a main traffic "drag" like South Street or Market Street. The traffic activity and noise is a fraction of what it is a block west or north of the house. The walk is a few minutes longer to Carroll Creek, but a worthwhile price to pay for a good night’s sleep.
The house is warm and inviting with an eclectic, open-plan layout, renovated custom features an updated master bath with walk-in shower, a 1st floor purple powder room with nature art motif, color, and artful textures and collections.
(If you like interesting things, this is the place for you!)
Any real cook would be happy with the accouterments in the kitchen. About the host
Hosted by Laurie Zook

Hi. I've lived in this house since 2000. I have transformed it into an innovative, comfortable space to share, and have been renting, with short to mid-term guests since 2006. I am a super-host on Airbnb and recently joined VRBO. I own Estatemax.net one of the DC metro's premiere estate sale companies. We are BBB Accredited, an Angi's Super Service Award Earning company for many years. The house is on a course for a long term transformation to develop into space for affordable housing for senior artists and creatives. Why they chose this property
This side 9f the historic district is set away from hustle and bustle, but not too far away, allowing quiet nights, privacy at the picnic area and garden spaces. On site parking is a rarity downtown, we provide one space in the lot and numerous on street unmetered. The neighborhood flanks Carroll Creek Linear Park, all of the downtown historic and arts district. The Francis Scott Key cemetery is 2 blocks west, MD School of the Deaf is across S. Carroll St from the house, the Revolutionary War Hessian Barracks sits on their campus. My property was a part of the original Frederick Brick Works and before that a tent grounds for soldiers during Revolution and Civil Wars. The new Frederick Book Arts Center is 1 block north, the Delaplaine Center for the Arts 2 blocks and the Frederick Visitor's Bureau and Greyhound station and MARC train station 2 blocks east. It is a central location, albeit on the quieter, south end of the city.
What makes this property unique
It is a shotgun style 1910 building of brick with a front porch swing, standing seam tin roof, with a storage garage on the north side and off street parking, a large vegetable garden in the back yard, herb and flower beds throughout the side and back yards. It is an oasis in the historic district.
