Versalir is a STUNNING 71,5 square meter cabin that stands on a PRIVATE land in the south of ICELAND. The most perfect LOCATION from the GOLDEN CIRCLE and many AMAZING sights. The cabin Versalir is well equipped and beautifully furnished, built by its owners. It can ACCOMMODATE up to 6 people, with TWO BEDROOMS and a comfortable SLEEPING COUCH in the living room. Both rooms have a 55" TV with NETFLIX and TWO TWIN BEDS, that can be joined to make KING BEDS. The living room has a comfortable couch, a RELAXING chair, PROJECTOR for watching NETFLIX with a TWO SPEAKER home theater and a FIRE PLACE. The superb dining room seats up to six people and has a magnificent fully EQUIPPED KITCHEN. The bathroom is very spacious and has a good WARM SHOWER. Also, the deck/patio is accessible from the bathroom.

The views all around the cabin are magnificent with MOUNTAINS stretching out in the surroundings. There's a 120 square meter private deck/patio which lies all around the cabin equipped with a cozy HOT TUB and a BBQ GRILL – Perfect for enjoying the SPECTACULAR VIEWS, STAR GAZING and catching the NORTHERN LIGHTS. Enjoying the SUNRISE and SUNSET at the deck/patio is an incredible EXPERIENCE. The cabin's deck/patio has a WHEELCHAIR ramp beside the entrance and has a FREE PARKING SPACE for up to four cars if parked properly.

We loved the cabin! The hot tub was perfect after a long day of sight seeing. The detailed hand book was great to have as well as the phone to get in and out of the gate. Having amenities such as a blow dryer was helpful to not have to pack it with us and save luggage space. The location was perfect for seclusion while still being close enough to Selfoss for easy access to groceries, gas and restaurants.

Spring break hiking trip

The property is well kept, and mostly well stocked. Its in a beautiful quiet location about 20 minute drive from selfoss. Hiking is nearby.

A great cottage in a great location

We had a great time at this house - it was convenient to Reykjavic, Golden Circle, Inside the Volcano, Reykjadalur hike, Selfoss and more. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our own meals and we loved the hot tub after long days hiking and exploring the area.

A perfect base for our visit

A perfect base camp for our visit to the Golden circle. We were able to see the Aurora Borealis 2 out of 3 nights from the hot tub. The book said hot tub would take 1-2 hours to prepare, in our experience, since it is winter and colder, it took a lot longer (4-5 hours)

Perfect place to stay!

I did my homework and this was by far the best place to stay for our family of four. It was plenty of room, well managed, and the hot tub was great after a long day of hiking. The nice touches included laundry (soap included!) and a free cell phone we could use which was a lifesaver because our mobile carrier didn't work. The owners were so helpful with all the questions we had before our trip. I LOVED the location. 15 minutes to Selfoss with restaurants, gas station, and groceries. But the house was secluded...quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Truly a home away from home. We highly recommend it!

Winter Time in Iceland

Located centrally in Golden Circle Area 90 minutes from Keflavík this was a great place to stay. Really enjoyed the Hot Tub, Fire Place and well provisioned kitchen!!

Amazing Must Stay At Cabin

Our stay here was amazing. They had everything you would need and it felt like a home away from home. We spent many of the cool nights in the hot tub. It is far enough away from the road to enjoy the peace. But also not too far from many of the views and excursions around to make it perfect.

Location and place is great! Very nice setup. Hot tub wasn’t expected with how to use. Returning key at end of stay is not very accommodating to guests especially if you’re leaving in dark with no lights in area. Overall great place and location and owners were responsive.

Awesome place to get away!

We absolutely loved our stay at Versalir cabin. The home is in the perfect location--far enough away to feel like you are away from other people, but close enough to access all of the amazing sites on the golden triangle. The home is comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Our family of five had a great time sitting in the hot tub after a log day of adventuring. The pull-out couch was comfortable and the bedrooms were perfect. Cooking was easy in the kitchen. We will treasure our time at Versalir Cabin.

Perfect location

We enjoyed this house so much! It was the perfect location. It was about an hour from the city which was not bad. Selfoss was only 18 minutes away which was good for grabbing food. It was within good range of popular tourist sites also. The best part was the norther lights were viewable from the house each night! If we ever come back to Iceland this is where we would stay. I can not recommend this enough! The hosts were great with helping prior to arrival with answering questions since we had never been to Iceland.

Amazing Iceland

This cabin was clean and cozy! It was in a good location for our day trips south and East. We were hesitant to use the washer and hot tub as they were quite confusing after reading the manuals. Perhaps our host showing us would have been better, but we were so busy. I’m sure they would have helped if we asked. A lovely quiet place!

Just wundervoll!

The perfect place to start exploring Iceland for the first time. Cosy house and well equipped (only things missing for us were A tea pot and a cullender). Perfect view while sitting in the Hot Pot! Our children loved doing circle running around the terasse. And thanks again to Erlingur who was always helpful with a very fast reaction time!!

A perfect week in Iceland

My family and I stayed at Versalir Cabin in early May 2019. Having a perfect "home base" location in Iceland that we could stay at was a key item for our trip. Iceland was amazing and we had a fantastic time touring around and sight seeing. Versalir cabin was perfect. The cabin was clean, the beds comfortable, the hot tub was really hot and great for relaxing at the end of the day. Everything turned out well and we would absolutely recommend Versalir to anyone coming to the Island and needing a place to stay. A big thank you to our hosts! Mike (Ontario Canada)

Perfectly located and well-equipped

We stayed at the cabin for almost a week in May and found it perfectly located for exploring the sights of the Golden Circle while at the same time enjoying the privacy of a cozy "home away from home": Be sure to visit Vík í Myrdal and walk along the black beach, Skógafoss, Geysir, Þingvellir National Park and Gullfoss! You can easily buy your provisions at Selfoss (a 15-minute drive), where you'll find the supermarkets Krónan and Bonus. We found the cabin nicely furnished, the kitchen well-equipped, and we really enjoyed watching movies - the cinema projector is a great idea! Erlingur was the perfect host from the very beginning: With his driving directions it is impossible to get lost on the way from the airport to the cabin, and he was always extremely quick, helpful and friendly in answering our questions.

Just wow! And read the handbook!

This might be one of my favorite properties yet. It was very clean, well-stocked, tons of windows, and an amazing wood stove for extra heat. The owners gave specific driving directions, with landmarks, which were exactly on point, and a 40 page handbook with details on everything from trouble shooting the radiators to using the stove. Seriously, we couldn’t have survived without it. We were 3 adults, who each had travelled to Iceland previously, and a seven year old on his first visit. The location away from everything was relaxing and provided for excellent Northern Lights viewing. We liked being away from the “hustle and bustle” of Reykjavik, and with Selfoss a 20 minute drive, we were able to shop for food and gas. Communicating with the owners was very easy, and they always responded quickly. An easy 5 stars, and bookmarked for our next Iceland trip!

The cabin is nicely appointed and was perfect for our stay near Selfoss. It is loctaed minutes from Thingvellier National Park, right in the middle of the Golden Circle. If you put in the coordinates from the directions given to you when you book, you will have no problem finding it. Use of a local cellphone is a bonus when contacting local businesses or tour companies. It comes with plenty of kitchen utensils, dishware, and cookware. The guest manual is very well put together and easy to follow. We used the hot tub following the owners directions and it worked fabulously. It could be cleaned a bit better in my opinion, but otherwise it was a comfortable stay. The couch is well worn but comfortable. We did not use the projector tv, however the tv in the bedroom works well. The bed and pillows were also comfortable. The washer dryer takes quite a while to do one small load, so don't expect get laundry done quickly! The bathroom is modern and warm with radiator heat to put your towel for a nice touch.

Eigentlich ein tolles Haus. Einiges klappte jedoch nicht so recht: Netflix war nicht zugänglich (spielte für uns keine Rolle), Hot Tub dauerte Stunden zum Aufwärmen; in dieser Zeit fast keinen Wasserdruck mehr inhouse. Wifi langsam. Keinen Staubsauger, Waschmaschine fast nur mit ultralangen Programmen und Tumbler funktionierte dürftig. Bei unserer Ankunft wars leider mässig sauber; Besitzer reagierte auf unsere Beanstandung und es wurde nochmals nachgereinigt (danke, das war wirklich gent). Hatte insgesamt leider etwas mehr erwartet…

Gemütliches Ferienhaus in dem man sich wohlfühlen kann! Die Ausstattung ist top. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Points of criticism : Shelf for shower baths in the shower is missing. And windows are very dirty! Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable! We found it particularly pleasant that it was so cuddly warm on arrival.

Erlingur & Ingvar started their business in 20th of September 2013 when they bought their first land in Grimsnes, south of Iceland. They used up their savings for the down payment and got a loan to pay the rest. They started planting treas and digging for streams. On 17th of June 2014 they received their first shipment of material for building Versalir cabin. They worked very hard, along side their jobs as engineers in Reykjavik, for 9 months building this cabin.

On 10th of March 2015 the first guests arrived to Versalir cabin. Two couples from India. Since then they have done all sorts of stuff. They will continue to focus on their cabin business and also other projects that they are passionate about. Their newest property is Breidablik cabin which is absoulutly stunning!
