This three full bedroom, two full bath home with a finished basement and extra sleeping space is situated on a beautiful lot with 150 feet of lake frontage,
We have access to world class fishing, boating, skiing, and winter sports including snowmobiling, skiing, and skating. Full basement includes second full bathroom, complete laundry facilities,as well as a pull out couch/futon. Your rental includes use of kayaks, and canoes/ bicycles. We are steps from the Flambeau flowage, and our hospitable neighbors and lake resorts will make your vacation dreams come true.

Great location so quiet and secluded. The lake was beautiful and we loved hanging out on the screen porch. Very comfortable home and great for a quiet getaway.

We enjoyed the dock and lake. My kids played with the fish amd we saw a few loons. cabin was well stocked and made "home" cooking a breeze

Sara was an amazing host. Answered all our questions promptly. Lovely setting. Craig the caretaker was very helpful as well.The only negative is beware of the large frying pan if you need to turn or maneuver it at all. The handle grip slips.

Wonderful cabin and friendly people

We had a great week at the cabin. Everything we needed was available. The woods and lake were too enticing to spend enough time in the cabin to explore all it had to offer. Great stay.

We had another awesome stay!

Our 5th visit to Smiley Cabin was wonderful as always. There were a few cold days with rain but that didn’t dampen our experience. The water was 74 degrees, we loved canoeing and kayaking, and just enjoyed being together. The cabin is comfortable and the scenery is breathtaking!

Springstead snowmobile trip

Absolutely love the place. Extremely convenient for snowmobiling. Beautiful home, very clean and comfortable. Property manager is very friendly and made himself available to us if needed.

Fall retreat

We truly enjoyed our stay. The house and grounds were well taken care of and the kitchen had all the utensils, plates, etc., we needed for our 6 day stay. The general area is nice and very quiet and the house has a great view of the lake and a nice dock. We'd strongly consider returning if we come back up for a visit.

Beautiful home and beautiful views

We had such a relaxing and great time! The home is very warm and cozy. Kitchen was well stocked. We were greeted by deer as we pulled in the driveway. We enjoyed some ice fishing, relaxing by the fireplace, cooking meals and watching deer roam throughout the property everyday. Beautiful views all around. Great pizza place less than 5 minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back! Thank you Sarah for opening your beautiful home to us!

Great fun!

A great place for a getaway

Our stay over Labor Day weekend was great! The property manager was great to work with and answered all questions promptly. The house was really nice, well stocked with everything you would need and very clean. The property and view are amazing and it overlooks a really nice lake. The dock was a great place to sit on the bench and look out on the water. Definitely recommend!

Reconnecting and relaxing

My family really enjoyed our stay in the quite neighborhood on the beautiful lake. Our family swam, kayaked, canoed, and fished and enjoyed a fire every night. We have not spent much time together during the Covid 19 crisis , so it was really good to reconnect in the northwoods.

Great vacation getaway

We had great weather. Fishing was good. The new dock was nice. The house was nice and clean. We made use of the deck. It was nice to sit outside, relax and forget about things at home and work. We look forward to returning next year.

Great stay

The cabin looks just like the photos. The spaces are large and it is very comfortable. Surrounded by shady trees and the dock on the lake is right in front, just a few steps away. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and baking. Everything works properly. The bikes are in perfect condition, we took a ride on the ATV trails which was great. We also went to the lake with the kayaks, super. Highly recommended.

Summer getaway

We spent a long weekend at the cabin. Given the current pandemic, cleanliness was a concern when we booked. Absolutely no worries once we got there- Sara has the cleanest cabin I’ve ever seen! Property had a great location. The pier was in need of maintenance, but overall we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you!

Another wonderful stay at the Smiley House!

We had such a wonderful time, relaxing in this comfortable, homey house on Upper Springstead Lake, rambling through the woods, swimming with our dog. The house is nice and clean but also feels lived in and cozy. We enjoyed watching movies on the big TV in the basement in the evenings. We also got some amazing photographs of the stars and milky way at night, because there is so little light pollution!

Northwoods Cabin

We came up for our annual guys trip of utving, boating, shooting, and general shenanigans. This was a great place to come to rest up for another day of tomfoolery. The pier was well lit and easy to find after when we left Chico's by boat. The view from the deck is pretty neat. There are a decent amount of trees that help obscure the view but that just adds to the privacy. The screen room really saved us from all of the flying vampires this year. Overall 10/10. We will be back.

Labor Day 2021

This property was perfect for our family of 6 and 2 dogs. Plenty of room to spread out and have our own space. The new dock is wonderful. The use of kayaks and canoes was a plus. Beds were comfortable. Only negative was that there was no space in the kitchen cupboards to put any of our food away so we had to keep it on the counter which took up a lot of space. Perhaps opening up a cupboard or two for guests' food would be beneficial. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend at a beautiful property and we hope to be back!
