My husband and I spent his birthday weekend here with our 2 dogs. The cabin had everything we needed to make several meals, was super private and cozy. Had an absolutely wonderful weekend exploring all the ladles and surrounding areas. Will definitely be back.
Really enjoyed our stay, the cabin is perfect for the location. Even with the really hot days cabin stayed cool. The creek on the property had some excellent fishing! I definitely would stay here again, might try out a different season next time. Great way to welcome my 50s.
If you’re looking for a chance to get out into the peaceful wilderness, this is the place! Serene, surrounded by ranches and forests, it is a perfect place to unplug and recharge the soul!
It was absolutely amazing, we stayed for three nights but it didnt feel long enough. We hung out on the deck with our dog and he had the time of his life wondering what the cows were. We went fishing down at the lakes and caught baby trout, nothing worth keeping. We also fished that little creek and caught a couple good size trout, we caught and released. We will absolutely be back again. Make sure you bring everything you need, unless you dont mind a drive, and i mean drive, into town.

Great area basically no traffic, make sure you get groceries before you head out there. The renter answered me quickly when I had questions.
It's very calm and quiet out there! The trip out and back for wherever your going is scenic, and there's even a nearby border crossing for Canada if that's something you're interested in. Lots of little swim areas along the Kettle River, which was very clear and had some great skipping rocks.Kitchen has the essentials for pots and pans, and there's a propane grill out on the porch. Coffee pot and microwave are all there and clean and in great condition. The dishwasher and fridge are also in great condition. Shower had good water pressure and hot water. The only downside was, that there's no washer/dryer but there is hot water and it is VERY bright and sunny so you might find it easier to just wash by hand and then hang dry. Overall, 4.5/5! Next time I'm in Republic visiting family I would definitely stay here again.
This farmhouse has a unique, old-fashioned appeal. We really loved the setting. A little creak runs through the back of the property, and there was a lot of wildlife to enjoy.
While not a condo, this place felt a lot like "home" while we were there. The place was clean and creatively decorated, and the back deck became a favorite place for our family to enjoy some evening Bible study.
There are some rough spots with the property, but the host has been making improvements, and was very accommodating. In fact, he graciously extended our stay without a lot of extra fees, and he provided an a/c to help with the unusually hot weather.
I would definitely recommend this property if you are wanting to unplug from the stress of a busy life!

Well... It is a peaceful quiet getaway. Check in easy. Communication excellent. Inside of the house was pet friendly. But if you hope to romp and play with dogs on the property forget it. Rusty jagged barbed wire, debris, piles of scrap metal scattered everywhere. Our leashed dogs felt like they were on lockdown Yes there is a beautiful brook running through the property, but first you have to walk past the scum covered stagnant pond that's right off of the back porch. And oh my God, the flies. Dead flies on every window sill, fly tape hanging in the kitchen right where you prepare food. I had to clean dead flies out of the tub along with the soap scum. Was tempted to clean the lime deposits off of everything including the shower curtain that was supposed to be transparent, but I was on vacation. 1/3 of electricity didn't work, front porch railings dangerous, the screen door bent so couldn't close all the way, which lead to more flies, and while there is AC in the upstairs bedroom, if you're hoping for a complete AC experience then you'd be out of luck. It wasn't bad for our stay, but I would hate to be there when it was super hot. Holes in the bathroom wall where the towel rack should be, old mismatched bleach stained bathroom towels and a hodgepodge of kitchen utensils, which was fine, but you expect more for the price. Master bedroom set up for maximum toe stubbing, which could be fixed easily. Loose carpet on stairs. No DVD remote. But you can see a million stars...
