Four miles from the gift shops, museums, restaurants and wine tasting bars in the quaint Danish Village of Solvang; two miles from the Western shops, museums, restaurants and wine tasting bars of Los Olivos; and five miles from the shops, museums, and restaurants in the western village of Santa Ynez. There are 70 wineries in the area where you can taste vintage local wines of the region. Twelve of those wineries are within three miles.

Set back over Hidden Hills, property features panoramic views of the local mountains and vineyards. The large upstairs master bedroom offers a vaulted ceiling, an oversize walk-in shower, and closet.. Large 2nd bedroom with en suite bathroom .downstairs.. Walk in shower and closet . sitting area , 50 in smart TV and service bar w/minifridge. The upstairs great room is spacious with open beam vaulted ceilings, gas fireplace, 55in Smart UHDTV with DVR, DVD and CD player. KIZA Broadband Internet for WI FI. ! The dining area has a table for six adjacent to the fully stocked kitchen. It features granite counters with bar seating, built-in cook top with oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, washer/dryer and everything else you need for a home away from home. stay. The water is softened and has a reverse osmosis drinking water system with in-refrigerator ice maker. There is also a half bath, off the great room.

Amazing Wine Country Guest House

Amazing property with gorgeous views only minutes from Los Olivos and Solvang. The pool and bocce were great. Hosts were super communicative and pleasant to meet with. Not intrusive at all. Really made us feel at home while we were there. Highly recommend.

Great Getaway

There were four of us meeting to enjoy wonderful company, taste wine and relax. David was a great host, and his place was more than expected for our weekend. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the large size helped. We will be back for sure in the future. Highly recommend!

Lovely property - like the shire or ireland! very clean and comfortable. didn't get a chance to try the pool or jacuzzi as it was rainy during our stay. Smaller 2nd BR is below main floor with outside stairway. Our hosts were very accommodating and communicative.

Great Spot / Strategic Location

Wife and I had a wonderful couple days here. Centrally located to walk to Ballard and short drives to Los Olivos, Solvang, and Santa Ynez. Awesome views of the hills of the Santa Ynez Valley. Very quiet neighborhood, where you can go for long walks without seeing a soul... The pool is behind the main house...steps away from this separate house. Very accessible and great for the summer.

Great location

The house was nice and the property was beautiful! The unit worked great for us since it was two separate apartments, one on the top level and one on the bottom level. The view was amazing and super peaceful with sheep grazing on the property next door. The only thing we did not like was the pictures and description were a little misleading. From the pictures, the guest house being rented looks further away from the house. The property is honestly maybe 20 feet from the main house garage. The pool and spa are on the main house property, where the owners live, and if you go in, you are staring directly into their house. Yes, they are super nice and inviting; however, it is super awkward to walk onto someone's property while they are home and enjoy the pool while looking into their home. The description and the house pictures on the website do not mention that they are on their property through the back gate. I feel like if that is more explained better on the VRBO listing, then it would not be so shocking when you are actually there.

Nice, convenient to wine tasting and Santa Barbara

We enjoyed staying at this property. Dave and his wife were very nice, and the unit was clean and had everything we needed. The grounds are lovely as you drive up, if a little disappointing when you go outside on the back deck to enjoy the view. The view from the back of the casita is marred by what appears to be a defunct garden and general storage area for items that are no longer used. We were also disappointed about the pool. On the website, the pool features prominently, so we brought our suits and looked forward to a swim, as the weather was hot. The pool however does not appear to be for guest use, as it sits behind a fence for the main house, and there was no indication by the owner that we were invited to enter the main house garden and use the pool. We did feel that if the pool is featured on the website, and used as a selling point for the property, it needs to be available for guests, and instructions given to guests about when and under what circumstances the pool is available for use. I would recommend this property, and encourage renters to ask in advance about the pool policy, if that is important to the renter.

A great escape

Check in was a breeze. The host was very accommodating. I was in town for a family wedding and the house was a peaceful escape. My dog loved the freedom of the fenced-in property.

PERFECT WINE COUNTRY LOCATION!

The casita is well located and perfect for one or two couples. This is a very rural area and super quiet. The ensuite masters are on separate floors for maximum privacy. The kitchen is well stocked if you want to prepare meals with a seemingly endless supply of coffee. I think that this might be the best location for access to the towns, wineries and some great restaurants. This was a super good value and our hosts were great and super attentive when needed.

My wife and I have lived in the 'Valley ' for 18 years. We moved here from Santa Barbara. I am a retired Plastic Packaging entrepreneur . I was born in England, and raised and attended University in Ca. My wife, Susan, was born and raised in New Jersey and was an accounting professional. We have one son . We are both retired and very greatful to be able to live in this beautiful Central Coast region of CA. We both enjoy golf and are members at the Alisal Ranch Country Club. We have one wonderful small multi- poodle dog named Gigi. She is our official greeter and loves people!

Why they chose this property

The communities of Solvang, Los Olivos, and Santa Ynez are located in one of the most picturesque valleys located on the Central Coast of CA. Coming into the region from Santa Barbara over the mountains on Hwy. 154 has some of the most breathtaking views you will see! The rolling hills with magnificent horse facilities,and abundant wine vineyards as seen in the movie 'Sideways' are truly spectacular. The activities, ie, museums, shopping, restaurants, biking etc. in all 3 communities afford us and visitors plenty to see and do !! All of the communities are unique, quaint and have styles of their own.... yet are very close together and easy to enjoy!!

Golf in the area is X'lnt.and reasonable! There is the Alisal River Course, public with monthly passes available in Solvang( very walkable). The more challenging and acclaimed courses of La Purisima and Sandpiper offer cost saving packages within 15min. Within 45 min. you have fabulous courses with Ocean Views, Ocean holes ,good rates and accessibility in Santa Barbara, Lompoc, Nipomo and Arroyo Grande.

We also enjoy the WEATHER!! We typically get 340 days a year of SUNSHINE!!!!,
