Kahalu'u Beach Park, perfect for beginner snokleing, is 3 miles south along Ali'i Drive. Puʻuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park is about 40 minutes south and Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park is 2 hours from here.
There are several coastal access paths along Ali'i Drive that are within walking distance and perfect for sunset watching.
