About this property

Pet-Friendly Cozy Cabin in Peaceful Setting

This cozy cabin adjoins the Pisgah National Forest with 800 feet of private access to Buck Creek. Four miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway gives you access to explore. Twenty minutes from downtown Marion. Mt. Mitchell State Park, Linville Caverns, Black Mountain, Old Fort and Asheville all less than an hour away. The perfect for a quick family weekend getaway to reset and recharge in nature!

The cabin is small and cozy - just under 700 square feet. There's a large screened in porch as well . The property itself is just under 4 acres. There are neighbors nearby, but you'll have your privacy, tucked into a grove of trees surrounding the cabin. The area is peaceful and quiet, with the sound of the creek running and crickets chirping at night. You may hear cars driving by on US-80 during the day, but traffic is never heavy. There is a dog tie out line in the side yard with plenty of space for your furry family member to relax if you wish to use it. Our dogs love the screened porch the best of all!

You'll have the whole cabin and yard to yourself. There are additional structures on the property; these are not currently for guest use. They are owner's spaces. Some are in need of repair and could be dangerous if entered; please respect the boundaries and keep only to the cabin and cabin yard during your stay. There are a few neighbors nearby but houses are well spaced. While you may hear cars or some minor activity during the day, evenings are peaceful and quiet hours are respected.

We've covered it in other places, but we just want to make sure you know that there is NO CELL SERVICE at the cabin. We do have satellite internet but it can be spotty, so should not be relied on. We recommend this property for those who are looking to disconnect a bit and enjoy their time in nature, away from the bustle and hustle of everyday life.

We've provided lots of DVDs, board games and puzzles for entertainment. A cabinet in the second bedroom has children's books, games, and toys as well. We love going for a day hike at Tom's Creek Falls, grabbing lunch at Hillman Beer in Old Fort, and then sitting on the screened porch and watching the sun set over the valley while listening to the peaceful sounds of the creek.

Cell service comes in down the mountain at the intersection of 70 and 80 - conveniently right at an ice cream stand! Grab a soft serve cone, make your calls, send your texts, and then head back to serenity and quiet.

An oasis. A retreat. A delight!
This custom cabin is such an amazing find. Right off the Blue Ridge, it was in range of so many sites on and off the Parkway. Everything you need to unplug and enjoy nature was provided. Little to no cell service, but the wifi worked great. We were as connected as we wanted to be. It was great for a couple's get away, but we would have totally enjoyed it with our two kids also. It was so restful and rejuvenating. Thank you for sharing this amazing haven with the world! P.S. If you come in the dark, be careful of the road getting off the Blue Ridge, those are some tight turns.

Quiet, cozy cabin
My husband, toddler, and I had a great long weekend in this sweet little cabin. We loved sitting on the screened in porch and listening to the creek at night and the house is stocked with everything you could possibly need. The hosts have thought of everything! We also loved the location. It feels nice and private since you’re tucked into the woods, but it’s only a 15-20 minute drive to the parkway and to Marion or Old Fort. The hosts were great and easy to communicate with. We are looking forward to staying again in the future!

When we're not enjoying our favorite cabin in the mountains, we're at our home on the marsh in Beaufort, SC. We love being surrounded by nature, whether it be mountains or coastal. It's been our long time hope to own some land, and we're so excited to be able to share it! When we're here at the cabin, we love going for hikes with our pups, exploring the creek, and disconnecting from the outside world a bit.

I've spent most of my career in various customer service aspects, and hosting was a natural fit for me! I love helping people, making them feel at home, and working on new additions and touches to improve their stay. We love being able to share this little corner of the world with you and hearing how you spent your time here. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

We had been looking for a mountain property for a long time, but somewhat stumbled upon this one. It seemed like the perfect fit, so we jumped, and we haven't looked back! It's been a labor of love since day 1. We love sitting on the screened porch - in the morning with coffee, listening to the birds greet the day; at night with the string lights on, listening to the sounds of the creek and the crickets. We find that the cabin is close enough to towns like Old Fort and Black Mountain to be a great home base, but remote enough to feel like you've been able to tuck away into the woods for a bit.

What makes this property unique

It's easy to grab some groceries, come up here for a few days, and not leave at all. Our cabin has a kitchen stocked with every kitchen tool you could need. With cozy beds, throw blankets, puzzles, and games, you'll feel tucked away. Disconnect, sleep in, read a book, build a fire in the firepit, play a board game. You can also just as easily explore the local area - you're inside of an hour to Old Fort, Black Mountain, Montreat, Asheville, Little Switzerland, and Spruce Pine. With plenty of hiking trails and adventures like Linville Caverns and Tom's Creek Falls, there's plenty to keep you busy if you want it. Visit Buck Creek Trout Farm to catch some dinner, or head down to Hillman Beer for a great burger. We love that we're close enough to adventure if you want it, and close enough to nature if you don't!
