There are three great reasons to choose to stay in this beautiful three-story house in Butchertown, Louisville – sport, history and bourbon.
No trip to this part of the world would be complete without checking out one of the many distilleries in the area, where the greatest tasting whiskey ever to pass your lips is made. Stay here and you’ll have a few of the best just a short walk or drive from the front door of a house that lets you prepare and enjoy great tasting food of your own in the kitchen and dining area. You’ll have an array of modern appliances at your fingertips, and plenty of countertop space to get creative, as well as cabinets and a large fridge/freezer in which to store your favorites. And when the food’s ready you can all gather at the 8-seater dining table to enjoy good times.
Sports fans will find staying here convenient for easy access to some great field-based entertainment. Not least the world-famous Kentucky Derby held every spring (2024 saw the 150th running of the horse race). And up on the top floor of this house, which also contains one of the bedrooms with a kingsize bed, you can step out onto the balcony and get a great view of the soccer stadium that’s home to Louisville City FC. The other kingsize bedroom and the two bedrooms with queen beds are on the floor below, which they share with the two bathrooms, both of which give you a choice of a shower or bathtub to use to freshen up. Towels and toiletries will be provided for all guests
Now what (watt) of the history we mentioned? Well, this home is located on the same street where Thomas Edison, inventor of electric power generation, once lived. Without his expertise, it’s unlikely this house would feature so many electronic devices designed to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Like the Wi-Fi that serves the whole house to make it easy to work here and stay in touch with friends and family back home. Or the TVs in three of the bedrooms and both of the living rooms, spaces which each have sofas that can be used for sleepers. There’s an electronic sound system too, so you can enjoy your favorite music. And a washer and dryer so you can clean your clothes as you go if you like – it sure beats saving it all for when you get home!
Other features of note:
Fenced back yard – great for safe play for young children and pets (both of which are welcome to stay here with you). And you can host a BBQ out here too – you’ll find all the utensils you need in the kitchen
Easy parking – the garage here is empty, offering space for one vehicle with more room on the driveway and streets outside.
Remote working – with Wi-Fi and plenty of tables and chairs to work at, staying here if you’re visiting Louisville on business, is a great option.
WHAT DO YOU WANT GUESTS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
Your hosts can’t wait to welcome visitors from all over the world into their luxe Louisville home for good times and easy living. Ensuring you can make great memories as a family or group of friends and get some quality work done if you’re staying with colleagues is their number one goal.
Please make yourselves at home and relax and unwind from the moment you get here. The whole house is yours, and your hosts will only intervene if you ask them to – perhaps to recommend the best bars or the bourbon distillery to visit first! They’re ready to help in any way they can. All they ask is that you refrain from smoking in the house – outside in the yard is fine. And out of courtesy for the neighbors, please don’t host parties in the house or garden – you’ll find plenty of places downtown where you can all let your hair down.
Young children and pets are welcome to stay here – the garden’s a large, safe space where they can run around and let off some of that energy they have. And be sure to cook up a BBQ whenever you want to.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS NEIGHBORHOOD?
There’s plenty to draw people from all over the world into Louisville, not least to explore more of the history behind two of its most famous sons – Muhammad Ali and Thomas Edison. The fact that Edison’s house is just a few yards away and is open to the public for tours gives the location of the house a real sense of history.
Being the home of perhaps the greatest boxer to ever live isn’t the only sporting connection that Louisville enjoys. One of the most famous horse races in the world is run here every spring. You’ll need to book this house early to ensure you get to stay here for race week. But this is a great place for sports fans to stay at other times of the year too, especially if you follow soccer team Louisville City FC or are a visiting fan of one of their opponents. The balcony of the house offers a great view of the stadium which is just a short drive from the house.
And with this part of the world being famous for its bourbon, having a whole host of distilleries within easy reach is another reason to stay here. Whiskey lovers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to touring the places where bourbon is made and tasting some of their beautiful drinks.
