I am a retired human rights attorney who decided to shift from the mainstream way of life. Health issues were what motivated me to make some changes and a new way of life is what i discovered. To give me space to decide how to change my life I bought an old camper van and traveled the US for several weeks and came across a memory from high school of Culebra PR. It’s a fascinating history if you’re inclined to read about Isla de Culebra. To me. it seemed like the perfect place to spend a few months, but I fell in love with the physical beauty of the island and the wonderful local people living here. I never planned to open a guesthouse, that just happened, that was ten years ago as the island became my home.
Over the past few years I became a grandfather and now split my time between Culebra and Portland Maine.

Why they chose this property
Laromana neighborhood where I chose to build Seagrapes is facing the water which is huge for cooling trade wind breezes lovely views. It’s close to the airport and town and about 1.5 miles from world renowned Flamenco Beach.
What makes this property unique
I focused on creating outdoor deck spaces to allow an open feeling with great views and dining areas. The multi-level deck allows plenty of space to hang out, from a picnic table under the main gazebo to the chill hammock grove, guests tell me is unique on island for the outdoor living focus and a variety of ways to enjoy it.
