About this property

Studio en suite, king/twin beds sleep 3, multi-deck views, early access bag drop

Our studio sleeps 3 in a king bed and twin bed, and has its own bathroom and kitchen. It’s best for a couple traveling with child or a group of three. It’s in my small guesthouse which has three separate apartments in my home which I named Seagrapes, We in a quiet residential area on a hillside with convenient access to all that our beautiful island has to offer, including the wonderful and popular BlancFlamenco coffee shop which is just steps away. Our studio is situated in a small banana grove which offers nice shade, it is also equipped with quiet cold AC. It has an en suite bathroom with on-demand hot shower, satélite wifi with Netflix and Amazon Prime. There is a small but functional kitchen and everything you need to enjoy Culebra !

It shares 5 sitting areas spread over 3 decks overlooking Culebra’s beautiful harbor. Views are from the decks up the stairs from the living area.

Our studio has its own private entrence and is closest to the hammock deck under the palm trees. We are close to harbor and get lots of cool breezes, important on hot days.


We offer complimentary beach chairs, coolers and towels. And Free extend stay - meaning use of the outdoor shower in and bathroom upon early arrival or after check out to extend your time enjoying Culebra. Just drop bags before or after check out, use changing room and/or shower to have more island time to enjoy. Free for our guests !

Please note that Culebra has geckos, wild roosters, cats, iguana and a variety of bugs which we try to keep away from our place. Please don’t feed the cute friendly animals you may see as they make take it as invitation to stay awhile, and keep food off counters and in the refrigerators to keep pests away. Keeping doors closed helps a lot. We do use professional exterminator services but sometimes geckos and bugs do get inside, just a reality of being in the tropics.

We are a simple beautiful tropical island, and we have designed Seagrapes to be in the spirit of the island - simple and sweet. Think beach cottage not luxury resort.

We had an amazing stay here! The beds in our studio room were very comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and it was great to have a kitchenette in the room. The property itself is gorgeous, with plenty of outdoor seating and ocean views, and the surrounding area is walkable. We arrived at 5am after flight delays, and the host was gracious and even left the studio light on for us so we could easily see which room was ours in the dark. Definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Culebra!

Yes, the space is tight, but there are plenty of pots and pans, utensils, etc. A refrigerator with a freezer would be nice.

Check in was so easy, having a bathroom and luggage drop is so awesome! Crisbal was very responsive and the kind woman we ran into when doing early luggage drop let us toss everything in our place while she was getting ready to clean. It is a very nice place - clean, hot water, efficient kitchen. Thanks so much!

The host has set things up wonderfully for folks to use the grounds before check-in and after check-out, by making available an exterior bathroom, shower, and storage for luggage, along with outdoor seating overlooking the bay. The host lives on site and it was a pleasure talking with him as he shared about his experience on the island and his efforts with his house and landscaping. He also assisted with connecting me with the neighbor who hosts hummingbirds at his feeder. Simple but effective studio, great view of the bay. (Highly recommend getting a golf cart or rental; taxis and walking were effective but brought anxiety, lost time, and expense.)(Highly recommend a long day tour on Culebrita.)[Highly recommend snorkeling at Tamarindo (for turtles straight out (saw 8)) and some coral to the north), Tamarindo Grande (snorkeling), and Rosario (snorkeling and quiet...favorable wave/wind dependant).]

I am a retired human rights attorney who decided to shift from the mainstream way of life. Health issues were what motivated me to make some changes and a new way of life is what i discovered. To give me space to decide how to change my life I bought an old camper van and traveled the US for several weeks and came across a memory from high school of Culebra PR. It’s a fascinating history if you’re inclined to read about Isla de Culebra. To me. it seemed like the perfect place to spend a few months, but I fell in love with the physical beauty of the island and the wonderful local people living here. I never planned to open a guesthouse, that just happened, that was ten years ago as the island became my home.

Over the past few years I became a grandfather and now split my time between Culebra and Portland Maine.

Why they chose this property

Laromana neighborhood where I chose to build Seagrapes is facing the water which is huge for cooling trade wind breezes lovely views. It’s close to the airport and town and about 1.5 miles from world renowned Flamenco Beach.

What makes this property unique

I focused on creating outdoor deck spaces to allow an open feeling with great views and dining areas. The multi-level deck allows plenty of space to hang out, from a picnic table under the main gazebo to the chill hammock grove, guests tell me is unique on island for the outdoor living focus and a variety of ways to enjoy it.
