Such a great place— close to Beale Street and other cool places in Memphis. Enough place for our family of 4 (2 teens) to spread out and be close at the same time.
The location was wonderful. Host reached out to us to make sure everything was OK. Had heaters in the bedrooms in case they were needed. Would recommend.
Girl’s trip (3 women in our early 70s). The house was a neat Victorian style house located within walking distance to the FedEx Forum. We attended the Nate Bargatze show there and felt perfectly safe walking to and from the Forum. The house was very clean and comfortable! The sitting area and the beds were very comfortable! We had to contact the hosts once and they were very responsive. We rented the downstairs and one of the 2 nights we were there there were guests upstairs so we could hear them as they walked across the floor but they were not otherwise loud or disruptive. A minor inconvenience was that there was no closet or space in the front bedroom to hang clothes or set belongings on. Just be aware of that. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
Walking distance to many delicious places to eat and attractions like the civil rights museum, rock and soul museum as well as the fedex forum. Clean and well decorated. We could occasionally hear the unit above us, but that was to be expected base on the style of the home. We were very happy with our stay!
Came to Memphis for the Grizzlies/Warriors game. Property was a quick walk to the arena. Felt completely safe walking there the night of the game. We stayed in the lower level of the property. Lovely home had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.
The home was VERY CLEAN, charming and full of character. The beds were super comfortable. When traveling we tend to use VRBO rather than hotels and we were also previous VRBO home owners ourselves so there are a few things that would be rather inexpensive but would give this place the full 5 star rating it could easily be if added. Provide additional sleeping pillows, most guests I assume would prefer to have 2 pillows each. Provide enough washcloths for every guest to have one for each day of stay. 1 washcloth per person for the entire stay is not enough and doing laundry isn't really on my list of to do's when vacationing. Add some full length mirrors to the rooms. The bedrooms are lovely and very spacious - having a mirror, a chair and some luggage racks would be nice - something to set your luggage on without keeping on the floor. Perhaps a cute little clothes rack so you can hang your clothes as at least one of the bedrooms didn't have any place at all. If you plan on cooking be warned very little is there to work with. No dishrags or towels are provided. There is one sponge. No PAM spray is provided so trying to wash any baking dishes was a nightmare. No measuring cup. 6 pieces of flatware provided so you are constantly washing dishes. If your priorities are a clean place & a comfy bed this is it! We would def come back again, hopefully they add some of our suggestions to make it the perfect place to stay!
My family, (2 adults, 2 children) stayed the weekend for my son’s basketball tournament. The house was easy to find and access. Felt very safe, even being so close to downtown. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The host was very communicative and easy to reach. We had no issues during our stay, but she checked in to make sure we were satisfied. We stayed in the lower level of the home, and wouldn’t have even known there were occupants above us if the owner had not have told me so, I was very pleased with that! Loved the location as well, it was very convenient! I will most definitely book again when we need a place to stay in Memphis!
The house location was perfect walking distance for everything downtown Memphis and was a great find! As a result we ended up not using the car very often during our stay, which was great because we didn’t have to find parking lots!We stayed in the lower unit and had some trouble with 1)the door unit not locking due to a loose handle but we figured out that it just needed to be reset and 2)the AC unit was having trouble keeping up with general cooling system. The unit showed the room temperature at 75 the first day and was up to 78 for the last day. While the actual temperature for cooling for the house was 72. I was able to contact the house host but being Saturday night, it was hard to get anyone to come service it. We were planning to leave early on the next day. We were there for 3 days! I hope that they are able to get the temperature control unit fixed soon for the next people!
