Three adults and one toddler on a weekend in March. Cabin was just as advertised - comfortable layout, towels and blankets on both floors were easy to find. Kitchen was well stocked. Hubby and I used the downstairs bedroom and were warm without the auxiliary heat - even with a low of 35 one night. The stairwell to the basement is open - we used one of the kitchen chairs as an improvised child-gate and had no problem with our two year old and the stairs. We would stay here again on future trips to the area.

Cute little cabin with a great view of Carbon Lake! Secluded feeling while only minutes from SIU and yummy restaurants. Check out Blend Tea and Crepe Lounge if you are headed in that direction! Host was quick to respond whenever contacted. Can't wait to book another stay when we visit our college student next! Thanks Jocelynne!!

The cabin was exceptionally clean with numerous small but thoughtful touches. The 2 chairs on the deck are very comfortable! Our only suggestion is sonething in the upstairs bedroom for luggage. We had a large cooler and ended up putting our suitcase on that.

Absolutely amazingly soft towels and other linens. Beds were super comfortable. It worked great for us for the kids to have their own room downstairs.Best thing was the hosts have a book with all the restaurants and other attractions nearby. It was super helpful as we were looking at several u-pick flowers places and one was right nearby.The location was great for us. It was nice being in Murphysboro close to grocery stores, etc. However, there are neighbors. The location was not as remote or as central to Shawnee NF as some would like. The neighborhood overlooks a lake and is located in a quiet neighborhood just outside of town.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin is unique due to being in a wooden quiet area and still close to town. Lots of different wildlife, such as deer, turkey, bald eagles, owls, etc. can be seen around the cabin.
