About this property
1950's Knotty Pine Cabin updated View of Mountains Lake Catherine
Cabin was built in the 50's but updated to modern features. Knotty Pine walls and vaulted ceiling with beams give it so much character. Just the right size for a couple or a family of 4. Beautiful lake views from the front room, living room and deck. Pets must have prior approval.
The cottage consists of one bedroom and one bathroom with and additional sleeping area on the glassed-in front room. There is a queen size memory foam mattress in the bedroom and a full-sized futon in the front room.
Vaulted ceiling in combination Living room-kitchen.
Kitchen has all new cabinets, above the stove microwave, full size fridge. Pots, pans and dishes included to make sure you can cook your own meals. I have also included a coffee pot and toaster.
The bathroom is accessed through the master bedroom. Please be aware of this, as it may be a problem with more than a couple staying.
This is one of the most restful places I have ever lived. The road is off the beaten trail, and only the few neighbors will drive by.
The deck is wonderful, nice place to sit and enjoy the sunrise, a nice drink and beautiful lake views.
Really not a good place to swim unless you are adventurous. You can walk down to the lake on public access steps: but, it is a steep climb up, and there is NO BEACH or DOCK just a bank. VERY STEEP climb. There is a public water access just up the road where you can launch a boat or fish. Water can be very cold here since it comes from below the dam up stream.
There is off the road parking at the back of the house, several steps up to the parking area please see pictures.

Loved the place, stayed nice and cool in the middle of summer, perfectly located outside the city but still close to everything you need. The house just had a very nice and cozy feel to it. Will definitely come back again.
The cabin is tucked away in a nice spot with a side view of the lake. I wish I would have known about the path that leads to the house. Transporting luggage and supplies are a bit of a chore with the pitch of the walkway and uneven stones. The location is very convenient to Hot Springs, Garvan Woodland Gardens and the lake.

I know it is steep and I do have a picture of it and a mention in the description about the property. Glad you liked the rest of the cabin.
This is a very tranquil relaxing place and very clean we stayed 4 nights and i went bare foot whole time inside and my feet did not get dirty! I would recommend anyone to stay here and Melanie was very helpful attentive and sweet. Plenty of space we had our standard poodle and he was extremely comfy and enjoyed the yard. It rained rained one day and it was so beautiful to watch from double doors in livingroom.
If you are going back and forth about booking this property let this be your sign to do it! We absolutely loved our stay here. It truly felt like a home away from home. The view is absolutely beautiful, the cabin is perfectly located near all the attractions and restaurants, and the atmosphere was so cozy. Thank you, Melanie for the lovely stay!
Host was very kind and accommodating, the property itself was absolutely stunning! Everything was very clean and organized and the cabin was very cozy and welcoming! I wish we could've stayed longer but if we are ever back up that way, we will be sure to see if this location is available to stay in again!
Great cabin! Loved the sunroom and firepit. Host was communicative and helpful. Would love to stay again.

I am sorry this was your experience for your one-night stay. There has been a lot of rain and the catkins from the oak trees do have a tendency to make the deck look dirty. Thank you again for your stay.
It was very nice and the host was very welcoming I just wish there had been a Christmas tree there since it was our Christmas getaway.. otherwise it was delightful

Why they chose this property
I purchased this home in 1992, I lived there full time for awhile and now use it as a getaway spot. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

It is so peaceful and quiet here on Lake Catherine. I love hanging out on the deck and relaxing with my friends and family.
