Staying in the Indian Beach neighborhood is truly Old Florida. Safe, quiet and friendly. Houses are an eclectic mix of modern to over 100 years old. There are three colleges in this neighborhood, a word class museum, micro-brew pub, Starbucks and a Vegan local restaurant in walking distance. The tiny yet beautiful bay front park is a one block walk. Sarasota is mainly a car reliant city. However, the public bus stop is a two block walk. SRQ airport is a ten minute drive. Relaxing

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to relax and have “nothing” to do for a few days when we stumbled on roys place. We had anticipated the trip for months and when we arrived we were not disappointed. Roy’s place was everything we were looking for. We spent most of our time on the linai and pool. The bedroom was comfy and cozy. During our stay Roy was just a text away to help with anything or answer any questions. I would come here again and again.

Great place, wonderfully relaxing!

This is a lovely place to satay. We enjoyed our time there immensely and Roy is a wonderful host. Close to everything and yet out of the way.

Nice, clean place in a quiet neighborhood

Overall, a clean place in a nice quiet neighborhood. Privacy is definitely questionable, as the owner lives on the same property. It is basically a duplex with a wall divider in the pool. The back yard is shared and the owner seemed to just appear at odd times, behind the fence around the hot tub and outdoor shower. We stayed from Sunday to Thursday. On Tuesday the hot tub was shut off with the only explanation being "it's broken". The pool is not heated, so the hot tub was definitely a main attraction for choosing this property. Needless to say it was never fixed during the rest of our stay, which was definitely disappointing.

Fourth trip as good as the first.

Absolutely wonderful property. We fully intend to continue to come back when circumstances allow. We love coming to Roy's Place and are just completely relax while we're there. Pictures are accurate and I'm sure anyone will love it just as much as we do.

This is a gem of a property in Northwest Sarasota. Old Florida neighborhood with large oak trees dripping in Spanish moss, mature tropical landscaping and water access. So close to the restaurants, night life and theaters of downtown Sarasota yet feels like a tropical paradise. Very safe and friendly.
The unofficial slogan in this neighborhood is "wouldn't want to live anywhere else".
