About this property
Beautiful Craftsman Style Home
This Original Seabright Beach single story cottage was converted in the early 1900's to a two story Craftsman Bungalow. The home is furnished with nautical decor. Upstairs sunroom looks out to the bay and municipal pier beyond. Peaks of the ocean from other upstairs bedrooms. Upstairs bathroom is large with old fashion clawfoot soaking tub. Downstairs has a large living room, large dining room, large kitchen with eating nook, a large bathroom with a shower, also a private bedroom off the front porch, and the west bedroom with its own enclosed sun porch. The home sits on a corner lot surrounded by well kept lawns and gardens with many cozy sitting areas, some with a view of the beach, a welcome after a long day at the beach. Wake up each morning to the gentle reminder that you're as the beach with the sound of waves and sea lions barking in the distance.

Beautiful historic house! Amazing location! Only complaints:*are no laundry. I know it wasn’t listed, I just assumed. *not clean- floors were so dirty! The kids feet and socks were black after a couple hours. Thick dust under couches and on all the knick knacks*oven set for Celsius(had to figure out how to change), coffee maker auto setting doesn’t work, lights over outside sitting area don’t work.*need to label light switches
We love the nostalgic charm of this beautifully restored home, lovely yard, and surrounding exploration spots. This home offers indoor and outdoor spaces to come together as a family, but ample space to retreat for a while. Perfect for our daughter, their husbands, and grandchildren!
Very nice neighborhood with easy access to the beach. House is bigger than it looks on-line; plenty of room inside and out for five adults and four kids. We all loved being there.
This home accommodates multi families very well! Yard and neighborhood fantastic and enjoyed by all. Location was perfect for walking to beach and most restaurants,
Our family had a wonderful time in this historic Santa Cruz home. Dave was a welcoming and helpful host. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family.

The rental house was fabulous. It was the perfect size for our family reunion.
Love the outside bathroom....and the seating out front. It was the good combo of cozy and spacious
We will be coming back.
A well-stocked home just a block from the beach with a few eclectic touches, like the pastor’s room, to keep things interesting.
Dave stopped by as we were arriving to say hello, always a nice touch, and let us know on our last day that we could stay past the check out time if we wanted.
All of us (7 adults) loved the house and the location.
The immediate family and grandchildren were able to stay comfortably at this beach rental. The location is close to everything we love about Santa Cruz. The kitchen is well stocked in case you forget a spice, cups, napkins etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. It is a place we definitly would like to stay in the future.
Excellent location. Walking distance to beach, boardwalk, cafes , and lunch spots. Loved the large dining room table and the outdoor seating .Very unique house well pointed and decorated. Perfect fit for grandkids, parents, and grandparents. We would highly recommend.
As described in the listing it is a well maintained older home. The craftsmanship wow beautiful. We had a very nice stay. The location was perfect; close to the beach, restaurants, coffee, etc. The only suggestions I have include; purchasing a new gas barbecue (the one provided is not gas and very rusted) and get new mattress for the adult rooms - so uncomfortable.
This property is an endearing old structure which captures the
charm of an Adirondack lodge with a New England kitchen. It also combines urban living with easy beach access. The dining table is just right for family gatherings. Young children will delight in its nooks and crannies
My family was very blessed with the home we rented. We were walking distance to the beach and Boardwalk. Plus just a short drive to see Thomas the Train.
Dave was a very gracious host and made us feel welcomed. We all left with a full heart because we so enjoy the beautiful home we stayed in.

About the host
Hosted by Dave
As a little boy growing up in the San Joaquin Valley, I remember looking forward to going to Santa Cruz every summer to spend 1 week with my grandparents and my young single aunts. Every year my Grandparents would have two grand children stay each week until all my cousins had a chance to vacation each summer. They sold their beach home in the late fifties. So when I was in my thirties I would vacation in Capitola and Santa Cruz and rent at the beach somewhere. We would ride around on our bikes with the kids, always keeping an eye out for a small place to buy. After renting for several years we found a small fixer upper. Being a young general contractor with lots of ambition, we began fixing it up, enjoying Santa Cruz and the beach also. As soon as the sun was out, we were off to the beach. Well after 14 years the little cottage became to small. So one day on a trip to the yaght harbor, we ran across this old Craftsman House that needed some TLC. We fell in love with it and with my ability to do the work we bought it. So now we are the Grandparents having my kids and grandchildren spend fun time at the beach. We have met so many nice families who we have rented to and many still return after many years. Everyone is happy when your'e at the beach. We love it.
Why they chose this property
When I found this home in this location by the ocean I could't pass it up. The home is in a great neighborhood with many very nice neighbors who have been here for decades enjoying their families at or near the beach. There is lots to do around here for everyone.
What makes this property unique
The home has lots of space in and out for all guests to spread out or gather together in many areas throughout the day, sunny and shady spots abound on the site.
