About this property
King Bed, Pvt Entrance Suite in N Asheville, Minutes to All the Area Offers!
Location, Location, Location!
Two miles off the I-240, The Hideaway is convenient to everything the Asheville area has to offer! The Asheville Country Club is across the road, UNC-A is a 5 minute drive, Grove Park Inn with its famous sunsets, public golf course, world class restaurants, and medieval fireplace is 6 minutes, and downtown Asheville and Weaverville are both only a 10 minute drive. Located at the bottom of Elk Mountain Scenic Highway, a Blue Ridge Parkway access road, beautiful easy to moderate hiking trails, including the Obama hike and Rattlesnake Lodge, are only two miles away. Birders will love walking 1/2 mile to our local Beaver Lake with its Bird Sanctuary and a loop trail that's an easy 1.83 miles long.
*With its separate entrance, The Hideaway is a one bedroom suite in a private home with a king bed, Egyptian cotton bedding, electric fireplace, 48" tv with the ability to stream all your favorite stations, black-out curtains, and a beautiful morning view of a meadow with a mountain backdrop.
*The kitchenette has a microwave, coffee maker and mugs, toaster, tea kettle, wine glasses, breakfast tray, and all utensils. There is plenty of coffee and tea with sweeteners, creamers, cinnamon and cocoa to add to your morning cup o' Joe. And of course, the beautiful meadow through the window.
*The large bath with double sinks . The walk-in shower has two shower heads, a teak bench seat, and high quality soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Step out to the soft, luxurious towels. The toilet is in a separate closet.
*The stacked laundry allows you to wash all your dirty hiking and river clothes and towels. Laundry detergent, iron and ironing board provided.
*For your slower moments, kick back with a glass of wine or tea in the Thailand cotton hammock under the dogwood tree while you watch the Bluebirds and Cardinals. For rainy days there are board games. Study the books with descriptions and directions of hiking trails and waterfalls in the area. If you let me know in advance, I can provide you with hiking poles, backpacks and recommendations.
*Parking on the road is safe,. Walk up the far left rock steps up to the sunburst gate and into the fenced area of The Hideaway. If parking on the road makes you uncomfortable, there is parking in the driveway. Be sure to leave space for the owner to back her car out. Walk in front of the house through the landscape lights to the far side of the house and into the fenced area of The Hideaway.
*Never leave food in your car, and always lock it. Bears have been known to break into cars, and sometimes get stuck inside. That's not good for the bear or your car!
*There are no shared rooms with the owners of the property.

About the host
Hosted by Martha Branson

Originally from Chapel Hill, NC, I grew up visiting relatives in the Asheville area. I've hiked these mountains and floated these rivers. After living and exploring the western part of this country for 20 years, I moved back to Asheville and am now loving its renaissance!
I grew up riding horses. I've raced barrels on quarter horses and jumped European warmbloods. I I love dogs, but cats are easier to leave behind when I travel. I retired from the Interior Design industry and for my second act am pursuing my passion for travel and writing. I love meeting new people.

Why they chose this property
This neighborhood is rural yet convenient to the music and nightlife of the area. I love waking to the sound of birdsong, seeing the bears amble by, and riding my motorcycle up the road to The Blue Ridge Parkway. Asheville has the best music, art, and people!
What makes this property unique
The Hideaway is convenient to everything, but is quiet and scenic with the peace of being in a rural location.
