This spacious mountain chalet-style ADU snuggled in the quiet West Hills neighborhood of Bend, could be your next vacation destination, your peace relaxation and wellness retreat, or your weekend adventure!

This 2-story building is a peaceful home surrounded by nature. The Chalet is upstairs, like a tree house, with an open-style cozy living room and large mountain style windows with a view of nature.
It has a 2-car garage downstairs. The cozy Chalet has been designed and built by the Matz family, and newly decorated for your convenience and comfort. The Chalet has 1 bedroom and 1 bath and sleeps 2 comfortably in a queen bed made with high end European style linens and ensuite bathroom with a large shower.. (A twin futon mat or port-a-crib also may be available for a small child.)
There is a fully-equipped kitchen open to a cozy living room and large mountain style windows with a view of nature. It has a strong wifi, smart TV and a long kitchen peninsula area for preparation and a desk for remote working if needed.

We think you will love seeing nature all around you, outside of each window. Peace and relaxation...

A playground and dog field are just down the street. Also, the Chalet is conveniently located walking distance to the local market and restaurants on Newport and Galveston Avenues, Downtown is less than 2 miles away. The road to Mt. Bachelor and Phil's Trail-head, and Eagle Crest, River's Edge, Tetherow Golf Courses are only minutes away. Deschutes River is only a mile away.

Summer, winter, spring, or fall, you’ll be close to all that Bend, Oregon has to offer.

Caroline and Doug Matz have always enjoyed spending time outdoors, for adventure and for relaxation. We like snow sports at Mt. Bachelor, hiking through the wilderness, biking along the many trails of the Trails Alliance, fishing in the myriad of rivers and Alpine lakes, and horseback riding. Family and friends of ours like golfing at the many courses nearby.

We lovingly designed and built this Chalet for our family and guests to enjoy peace and relaxation especially after adventures and excursions during the day. Doug was in construction for most of his life, loves to ski and fish. Caroline was an educator for 35 years and enjoys, gardening, drawing, and reading. We both enjoy cooking and eating.

Why they chose this property

We wanted to find property in Central Bend, yet in a quiet neighborhood. We also looked for a quiet property that had a large private yard with well-established mature trees..

What makes this property unique

The Chalet will be your destination for peace and relaxation, and it is central to all that Central Oregon has to offer. You can view nature out of all windows, and might feel as if you are in a luxury treehouse.
