The Ellen Kay is a 3 bedroom cottage. The master bedroom has a queen bed. The 2nd bedroom has a double bed and the 3rd bedroom has 2 single bunk beds. The main living area has 2 sofas and a futon.
The bathroom in the Ellen Kay was just refinished with new fixtures, shower and flooring.
A large private deck is off the kitchen area with a patio table and chairs. A large back yard with both sun and shade features a fire pit for night time Sauble fun.

The Ellen Kay is located at 114 3rd Ave.North, a great location, a 2 minute walk to the beach and downtown.

Perfect location!

This cottage was at the perfect location, so close to the main entrance. It is a cute cottage but could use a few cosmetic updates. Overall it was a great week at Sauble Beach.

Location is very good being very close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Has a nice outdoor space with fire pit as well.Note that you are required to bring your own sheets, towels, blankets, toilet paper, soap, water is not potable etc which is not clearly stated in the property description and was only clarified after booking the property.

Great location with all amenities

First of all this property is centrally located easy to walk to several great coffee shops, the amazing luscious bakery, Weoften dined on the front Road for dinner. I loved that this place was not cluttered. It felt easier to take care of the porch outback with the beautiful table was nice to sit in the cool evenings. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s actually much more modern in person and the kitchen is great! Very relaxing atmosphere. The smell of pine trees is all around you.

Comfortable and great location!

It's close to everything, but far enough to feel private and secure for children. It had everything we needed and stayed fairly cool under the trees. We brought extra fans. One improvement would be more towel racks/hooks. Water is not drinkable; I don't know if that is the same for all cottages in the area. Beds and pillows are comfortable. We had a great time and would go back!

Adorable Cottage!

Our family enjoyed the backyard immensely. So private it felt like we were camping. A short walk behind us was the beach! And just up the street was Two Chicks Cafe with wonderful iced coffee, chicken samosas and free wifi. The big coffee table was perfect for board games and we left the cable tv on the comedy channel on the two days it rained. Our sons are now big fans of Corner Gas…lol. We hope to return soon to the EllenKay.

Love Sauble beach and this home was located in the heart of all the action! Private backyard, enjoyed the patio and the fire pit. Rooms were spacious. Enjoyed some cable tv in the rainy days, seamless check in and out. Lovely host.

Great location

There was some confusion at checkin as I was told the door would be open but it was locked and the key under the mat. I figured it out but it did cause a momentary panic. I suppose I should have been prepared for mice but had a shock when I found one in the oven and saw their droppings in the cabinet under the sink, Otherwise, super location, great firepit and patio and everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Absolutly beautiful!

We really enjoyed our time here. The price was very reasonable for being so close to the water! You can hear the waves from the backyard! All the tree cover gave a deep woods feel, with everything we needed only steps away. We will be back to this place! 😁

Great location and access

Enjoyable stay despite the Covid restrictions we were able to enjoy the area and it’s vibe. Couldn’t find the second bathroom as advertised but the spacious living room was perfect for puzzles and games with the family. BBQ was a small but very excellent for both Q’ng and baking bacon. Overall the area is famous for cottage living and it was all of that.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ellen Kay cottage. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and it had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the back yard and fire pit. It is a very easy walk to the beach and the main street in Sauble.

Good location/proximity to beach & downtown. Comfortable & functional cottage for families.

Cottage functioned well with 3 grandkids, 6 & under during our week. TV/cable was appreciated but a tiny screen for viewing. Happy with it's location, fire-pit, BBQ & large outdoor patio table for dining worked well. (VRBO picture is out-dated) Cons: not enough towel rods/hooks in bathroom & kitchen; no BBQ brush provided to clean grill between uses; clothesline in need of repair or replacement (not strong enough to hold wet towels & misc items which were often touching ground); had issue with broken coffee maker 1st morning, but appreciated that owner promptly replaced it; also the fridge wasn't cooling properly & again owner had it repaired right away. 👍🏻 A few other little things could use some TLC, though overall we had a great vacation & happy time during our week at this basic, comfy old fashioned type Sauble Beach cottage.

My husband Steve and I purchased the Ellen Kay when our four children were 4, 6, 7 and 10. We have enjoyed the cottage as a family over the years but have really enjoyed renting the cottage out to other families. Our hope is that other families can make some fantastic summer traditions and memories at the Ellen Kay as though it were their own.

We have had many guest return annually, making the Ellen Kay their own. We love that!

Why they chose this property

The Ellen Kay is only minutes from the downtown and the beach. Approximately a 3 minutes walk. We also own a 2 bedroom cottage - Lazy Pines- at the back of the property that allows our guests to have direct access to 2nd Ave. N, which is just one road off of the beach.
The property is spacious and private and the cottage is open and spacious. There is a large deck with a patio set for 5. The is a bedroom off on its own for a little privacy.
The cottage is fully stocked with everything you should need for your holiday!

What makes this property unique

Once you arrive and park your car on the roadside of the cottage, you won't have to get back on the road unless you decide to take a road trip.
You will have access to everything you need by foot for your entire holiday.
